Height Factor

When you think of boyfriends and girlfriends, normally you think that girls are shorter and guys are taller. The question is: Does height attract you to somebody? And does a boy being shorter or taller than a girl have an affect on a girl's willingness to go out with that guy? Same the other way around; does a girl being taller than the guy turn a guy off? What do you guys think?

Personally, I don't care whether a boy is taller or shorter. Sure, I do picture myself with someone a little taller than me, but I won't not go out with a guy because of his height. It's all about personality for me.

 

It's about personality for me too, but... If a guy was shorter I'd maybe think twice if he was flirting with me. Only if he was marginally shorter though.

I've dated two guys who have been shorter, and it was no problem. The others have been taller and I have to say more attractive because of that..

Also I think guys like being the tallest 'cause they like to "take charge" and don't want to be intimidated by a taller girl, if that makes sense.

 

Yeah, that's true. Most guys like to think that being taller means that they're stronger. Plus, you always picture a girl leaning on a guy's shoulder when she's crying, not her being tall and hugging a short guy, you know what I mean?

 

That's so true, but maybe we shouldn't think about traditional images.
It's annoying because Im much taller than most girls my age, im 5 foot 9, and most of the guys I know are much shorter. I know they'll catch up eventually but its annoying for now x_x
And yeah, guys don't like the thought of a girl being taller because they think it would imply that the girl was "stronger" and so "in charge"

 

The streotypical views pf the male being taller isn't what I would call a major factor in attractiveness.
It's usually a person around your height that you most likely are attracted too. It doesn't matter whether your boy or girl in general, we did not want someon twice our size or half our size, though this is not always the case.
I do think it can affect how you feel about someone, since it is almost as significant as looks, but not as important.

 

My first boyfriend was a whole seven inches shorter than me. I used to tease him by coming up behind him and resting my head on his.

Never once did it truly affect our relationship. I guess maybe it doesn't matter for some people?

( and for the record I'm 5'3", so he was tiny.)

 

Personally, I'd prefer it if the girl was as tall as me; at the very least, half a head shorter than me, although that's practically impossible most of the time. I'm 6'4, so everyone is at least 1-2 heads shorter than me...you see how hard that is.

You have no idea how happy I was when the first crush I had, I could actually see at eye level. It never got anywhere, but I was always at ease, partly because we were almost the same height.

 

I probably would find a girl less attractive for being taller then me, I dunno, girls being shorter is so moe~

 

I don't really mind if a girl's taller or I'm taller. I'm 5'9, but most girls around me who are attractive are like 5'7-5'3.

 

Height isn't really a factor for me. I think it is weird that people sometimes take this into account.

 

Actually it doesn't matter to me. Besides, I'm shorter that most at school, 5'3. My ex was also 5'3. O.O

I want someone either same height or a bit shorter.

 

I'd like to say no, I don't care, but honestly, that's is how I picture it. Guys are just naturally taller in my mind. xD But I'm short, so it's silly to think that a boy could be smaller than me.

 

Personally, I don't consiously think about it, but all the girls I've liked have been at least a little shorter than me. I guess it does make a difference to me, but I don't normally realize it.

 

Well, I'm 5' 9. I have gone out with a girl that was 6' 0. It didn't feel weird.

 

I feel more comfortable with guys who are taller than me because I can snuggle with them and it's not really awkward when we dance. XD

But still, I've been attracted to guys who are shorter than me... It's doesn't matter the height, as long as you know you like them. :)

Yeah, I prefer guys that are taller than me. It's just one of those turn ons. Kinda like how someone prefers blue eyes over green or something like that. It's just one of those things.

Both personality and looks matter to me. Mostly personality though. Height's another. If a guy is the same height or taller, I'd say we're good to go.

 

That's funny. I still don't get why hight should matter.

 

I have been attracted to and dated guys who were a little bit shorter than me before by like an inch or two, it isn't top of my list of reasons to not find people attractive.

However, I personally do find it weird if I am with a guy who is a lot shorter than me. I know it sounds really lame but I find it weird having to tilt my head down to kiss someone as opposed to tilting my head up slightly.

It isn't a huge factor for me, but I would prefer if a guy was taller than me. I just like it better that way, like Kairi2011 said, it is just a personal preference thing.

Sucks for me that I'm 5'10/11, a LOT of guys are shorter than me xD​

 

It doesn't matter about size, just personality.
