Heavy, Non-Existent Heart

Xemnas laughed. "love... what a worthless emotion."

Saix managed to stand up. he was breathing heavily.

Xemnas turned to Saix and frowned. "why don't you stay down?" Xemnas shot a laser at Saix, knocking him down.

 

Raiu got so angry that she threw her dagger at Xemnas, making another cut. "No! Your attention is on me!" She rolled away to grab her dagger, ready to fight. She would stop him from hurting Saix even if she got hurt herself.

 

"why must you humans be so annoying?" Xemnas shot a laser at Raiu.

Saix stood up again.

"stay. down." Xemnas shot him again.

 

Raiu fell as the laser hit her in the stomach. She saw Xemnas shoot Saix again and struggled until she was back on her feet, holding her abdomen in pain. "I'm not... finished with you. Saix promised to protect me... and I'm doing the same for him."

 

Xemnas smirked. "love clouds judgement. it makes people weak. they're willing to give their lives and in the end they do. that's why love is worthless" Xemnas aimed at her.

 

"It's also... the power of love that has changed a person's fate to the right course. As long as you're alone... you are powerless." Raiu took that as an insult to him or more like mocking him.

 

Xemnas raised an eyebrow as he aimed at her chest. "is that so? if i'm powerless... how can i do this?" he shot a laser at her chest.

 

Raiu got knocked down, very weak. She kept struggling to get up until she did. "You may have physical strength... but you are weak because no one is beside you." She then fell back down and crawled her way to Saix, who was also weak. "Are you OK?" She took his hand and held it tight, letting him know how much pain she was in.

 

Saix nodded slowly.

Xemnas sneered. "how cute." he said sarcasticly. he opened a portal and glared at Saix. "i better NEVER see your face again." he stepped through the portal.

 

Raiu fainted out from the pain while still holding his hand. She had done the best she could to protect him, even though Saix was the stronger one.

 

Saix passed out as well. he was relieved Xemnas was gone but why had he spared them? it was just as easy to kill them and get it over with.

 

A few hours later, Raiu woke up to see that it was already sunset. She looked at Saix, who looked like he starting to wake up. She held him up and embraced him. "Are you OK?"

 

Saix nodded. "i think i broke my left arm though...." he used his claymore to stand up. "are you okay?" the diviner asked.

 

"He did shoot me, but I don't think it's anything serious." She helped him up as they needed to get back to her home. "This place is your home now." They walked up the hill to her small home.

 

Saix nodded. "i'll enjoy it here much more than at that castle." the diviner was still wondering why Xemnas had spared them. could he have gone soft? the diviner seriously doubted it... but it is possible.

 

They finally arrived at her home as she set him down on a chair in the corner of her bedroom. But then, Raiu threw herself down on her bed, holding her body in pain and moaning. She was really hurt.

 

Saix climbed into the bed and hugged her. he was careful to not to hurt his arm. "i'm so sorry... you're in pain and there's nothing i can do..."

 

"Don't be. I just need time to recover, so do you." Raiu sat up and grabbed a bandage from under her bed. She wrapped it around his arm and got the arm sling out from under her bed too and gently put his arm in it. "I broke my arm once when I was younger about 3 years ago. It's not much, but I hope it does the job."

 

Saix nodded. "thank you." he got brave and kissed her for the second time today. it felt great when he kissed her.

 

Raiu accepted his kiss and leaned her head against his chest. It was important to let him know he much she loved him, and she didn't care if she was in pain.
