Heavy, Non-Existent Heart

Saix was silent. he studied Raiu to see if she really cared. he spoke. "the real me is nice... kind... fun... funny... but you can't be a nobody and be all those things as well." he said.

 

"So, you hide your true self? Are you ashamed of what your true self really is?" Raiu moved a little bit closer because she knew that Nobodies were considered dangerous and were devious.

 

"exactly." Saix replied. he noticed her getting closer. "what about you? do you hide your true self? or is what i see what i get?" he asked, searching her eyes again. this girl... this Raiu... actually seemed to care. it was somewhat refreshing to the Diviner.

 

"I... no. I've tried to explain to others but they just won't listen. They think all I'm good for is just for having such a pure heart." Raiu closed her eyes and in sadness and started to have tears. "But having the purest heart alive... is that even possible?"

 

"i don't know much about hearts. but i assure you..... i may seem cold... but i am actually a good listener..." Saix said. the Diviner didn't like revealing things like this. it was strange... Raiu made it feel natural.

 

"I don't doubt you as much as I did before... but Nobodies like you are supposed to fight. How do you fight?" Raiu looked at him again and she didn't know why, but Saix made her feel... clearer about herself.

 

Saix drew his claymore. "we fight like humans... with... a few.... 'variations'" Saix said. with a flick of his wrist, spikes appeared at the top of his claymore. "we nobodies have abilities that are unlike humans...." Saix explained. with another flick of his wrist, the spikes vanished. the Diviner withdrew his claymore.

 

Raiu seemed a little terrified of his weapon and backed away a little bit but her face looked like it was saying that she didn't care. He was misunderstood just like her.

 

Saix stared at the girl. "tell me.... what do you cherish most....? if anything at all...?" the Diviner asked curiously. he wanted to know a little more about this girl. it seemed she wanted to know a little more about him as well.

 

"Nothing. My entire family was taken from me by darkness itself. They were like me now and their hearts were swallowed by darkness, and became Heartless." Raiu turned away from him, not looking but she moved a little closer to him. Was Saix really trying to know her for who she was or was he planning to use her?

 

Saix blinked for the first time in twenty minutes. he was a little surprised. other humans he asked this question to usually had SOMETHING they cherished."really...? i must admit... i am a little surprised." Saix said as he moved closrt as well.

 

"Why? Everything precious to me is already gone. I hardly care for anything in this world anymore." Raiu moved a little bit closer to him and she was now a few feet away from him, wondering if she could trust him.

 

Saix took a few steps forward."really? most humans answer, 'my family' or 'my friends' but you...." he chuckled."you answer, 'nothing'... very interesting..." he took a few more steps forward.

 

"What is so interesting about that? It's the truth..." Raiu moved closer to him and she was a little surprised by how big he was compared to her. She decided to finally look him in the eyes and give him another test. "When you look at me, what do you see?"

 

Saix didn't even have to think about it."i see a kind, beautiful girl that needs someone to make life worth living." the Diviner replied. he spoke the truth. he wished he toned it down though. he took another step.

"Is that what you really see? Or do you see someone, who wants to live in darkness, to be rid of her suffering?" Raiu took another step forward to get closer. She calmed as she didn't know why her heart was acting up as she got closer to him.

 

Saix chuckled. "hmmm... darkness will not rid you of suffering... it will only make it worse..." he took another step he was only mere inches away from her. "i should know more than anyone."

 

"I don't care. This world causes me suffering too." Raiu took another step, but then her legs gave out from somehow being weak and she covered her face with her hands. She didn't want to suffer and she should have made this clear to Saix already.

 

Saix caught Raiu and held her up. strange... he'd usually have let her fall. but he wasn't feeling usual today. far from it. he struggled to keep his cold and cruel self. he was losing the battle.

 

"I somehow feel a little weak." Raiu didn't look at him but she looked a little surprised that he caught her. But she calmed down and stod up again. "It's OK, I'm fine."
