I mean I have always had mixed views about reincarnation if it was true or not. But I had always had this suspicion that I had a previous life because I had these strange memories that randomly are just there in my mind and in them I was a different person, I'm not kidding either. They couldn't be memories from lost in my childhood because in them I was much older and I was a adult and I can still remember them quite well ever since I was a child. Whats weird about it is when I remember those memories I'm a man and its happening someplace in the 1800s judging by the way people dressed and there's a clock tower so its making me think whoever these memories belonged to lived perhaps in Europe?
For some reason my mind has the knowledge of whats going in the memories on its own, its kind of creepy because its as if it's familiar.
I'm pretty sure my suspicions are pretty well backed up because I don't think I have ever left the country nor have my parents ever had the money to do that before.

But anyways enough of me, have any of you ever had suspicions of something such as a past life?

I have to say, that's definitely interesting. I personally haven't, I have had moments of Deja vu but that's normal and I was myself.

There is a possibility that they are like a dream, your mind creating these situations that are so vivid you believe them to be real when actually it's just your mind sorting things out. I'm not sure though, I have no idea what these memories are like or what they mean.

I suppose it could be possible, I can't understand why you'd still have those memories, since memories are stored in the brain and when that dies, so do the memories. Maybe not, maybe they're stored inside your soul (if you believe people have them).

I was a middle-aged male diver, who apparently was too cocky to wear an actual suit. One day, I was out in quite open water.

I must have cut my leg or something, because then a very large shark came - and after that everything just fades to black.

However, up until the first time I had that 'dream', I'd never seen a shark before.

That's also strange. In a dream, your mind can only use things it's seen before, unless by never seeing a shark you mean in person not just in pictures and other media's then it could have been a dream.

To be honest, I'd like to think they were memories, it would make things very interesting and it's a good discussion topic.

I've never had felt i've ever had another life before (at most i've felt like i had this life before, yet not like a Déjà vu, but that's out of question), but i've seen some people with rather convincing proof.

I think for myself that it is possible to have memories from a past you, but at the same time i find it hard to believe in memories themselves.

Such as when a Déjà vu happens, you believe you have seen something before, you know you did, but it's not possible since it hadn't happened yet, and you only remember it happened when it happens again.

Or in a Jamais vu, which you see something you remind, yet you feel unfamiliar with it.
Did it never really happen and you're wrong, or your mind wants you to believe it never happened, like in a trauma?

How do you know what to trust? "You" or your memory?

Nevertheless, memories, and therefore, dreams are rather complex to think about, since remembering is something that happens spontaneously rather than something you can sort out >_>

When ever someone tells a story about/with a princess or a female of royalty in it, I always imagine myself as the girl. I know that that could just be me putting myself in the story but it feels like it happened to me before. And the image is perfect for royalty even if the person telling the story doesn't describe how the girl or castle/place looks.

So I think that it is possible for people to have a past life. There have been research, I think, about reincarnation and the possibilities that it could happen to people.

But I also have a very good imagination and when ever I play pretend, (yes, even though I'm 14 I still play pretend. I act so I need to do that) I pretend that I am of royalty. Whether I'm a queen or a princess, I'm someone of royalty.

So it's possible that you could either have imagined that stuff or you have had a past life. The answer is unknown.

I myself don't think I've had a past life, however my little sister when she was still quite small around four or so, talked about her other mommy and other family, she said she had to try on a mask (meaning gas mask) when ever the bombs dropped and other various creepy things I'd rather not go into detail about, I think she may have been a child in a wa in her past life or something, I mean how else is a four year old ment to know about The World Wars? My family really didn't speak about history and such so it seems creepy that my sister knew that type of stuff. She stopped after a few weeks though and hasn't brought it up or mentioned it since.
I'm not one to believe in reincarnation and stuff like that usually, I normally put it down to Deja vu if I think I've seen this place before etc but in such cases or experiences like my sisters then it gets me wondering about reincarnation and if a person can live and remeber a past life.

Hmmm.... I see where you're coming from but it could also relate to your present life and what your emotions are telling you. I do know the feeling though I suppose. I believed in reincarnation when I was younger. I was told by a Median that I had been an Indian in a past life that wore a wolf pelt(means that I am of high rank) and in a lot of my dreams I was this black wolf and always the same black wolf. I don't believe in reincarnation anymore though and any day dreams, thoughts or other dreams are probably relating to how you feel in my opinion.

Yes, I've had those too. Just bits and pieces really, but I do think its something. I've always wondered how reincarnation would work though. Like, would anything you did in a past life affect your present life? or how many lives' memories can bleed over into the next? Interesting things to think about in my opinion...

    I know for a fact i've had at least a few past lives. All of which in wars, from what I can see. I'm always on different battlefields (british soldier in the revolution, american in WW2) I don't remember much aside from the smell of the air, but yeah. I very much believe in past lives ^^;

...I don't really know about the Jamais/Deja Vu thing. As a part of my religion (I'm a Mormon/Latter-Day Saint), we believe that we existed as spirits in heaven before we came to earth. It could be the same thing as what you're talking about, but I haven't the slightest idea. :/

I can't say I really believe in all of this, mostly because I haven't experienced it. If I had experiences similar to what you guys have described I'm sure my opinion would be different, but I just don't believe it can happen. I don't believe in reincarnation; this is you, this is your one shot, there is no before or after. There's just now and nothing else.

Your stories are all interesting, but I've had dreams where I was different people in different times, but I've never felt that that was me in a past life.

I do believe in the possibility of reincarnation, but I don't believe we'd necessarily be reborn as humans again each time we die. Humans haven't always been around, nor will the human race last forever. It just doesn't add up. But that doesn't rule out the chance that we may have had one or two past human lives.

It's weird; occasionally I'll have dreams when someone is speaking fluid, rapid French to me and I'll understand every word of it without having to stop and think "okay, what would that be in English?" (which is what I would have to pause and do if someone were speaking rapid French to me while awake). I don't know if that has anything to do with a past life where I'm French (I somewhat doubt that it does), but it still freaks me out sometimes. Make of that what you will.

No, it's actual, honest to goodness French. Full sentences, real words, real grammar, everything. And it creeps the crap right out of me. .___.

I 'remember' a blinding white blizzard, with my feet feeling heavy as I walk forward, leaning on a stave travelling to somewhere. As much as I use to believe it as a past life I don't know now. I find it more believable to be my wild imagination. And just becasue I may have believed it to be true, doesn't make it true, just means I believe in it being true.

But there have been a number of scientific theories to explain the idea of past lines, the most prominent being genetic memory. This is whereby the memories of your ancestors are passed through to you in the time of conception by the DNA that the sperm or egg carries. The memory of your ancestors is in your DNA, basically. As such it explains why we have been places or seen things that we truly haven't in real life, because we are viewing the memories of those who are our parents, grandparents, great grandparents and so on. The theory also explains why certain animals or even humans are able to pick up skills very quickly, such as the ability to walk or run jump, or in birds the ability to fly and their knowledge to 'fly south for the winter'. It is beacuse it has all been done before by someone previous to you.
However the theory is unable to explain a number of other reasons why if we've done something before, our offspring are not always adept at doing something the parents might be able to do easily.

Really I don't know what to beliueve, but i'm keeping my options open on multiple ideas.

Wait, wait, choose your words carefully. 'I know for a fact' is an out there statement when you have no compelling evidence apart from 'I have a feeling'. It just won't cut it. This topic itself is pretty much someone saying one thing which may or may not be fact, so trying to make a statement like that valid is nearly impossible.
I just dislike statements that are told to be fact but may not be.

That's not totally unheard of. Since French and English have the same roots in the Latin language and culture, and that english has been influenced by a number of other languages such as Nordic when Vikings invaded England and the influence of French culture in that it was at one point the primary tongue used by the uppper class in England, a number of cases have shown the ability to understand a foreign language very similar to the mother tongue of the participant. Since English and French have similar sentence structures, conversation layouts, similar sounding words and origin, understanding the foreign one is not as difficult as if trying to understand a non-european based language. Though in most cases it was only short sentences, it was concluded that two similar languages can be understood even if never heard before.
Just chalk it down to the similarities and that's pretty much the reason.

2 things, 1, this is for monkey king; Damn, I never would have thought of it like that, IT MAKES SO MUCH SENCE!!!!!!!!! all that logic, I live for it! I live to explain and learn how things work! you my good sir (or posably Madam) have just made my day! :D. 2, I am not sure how to feel about this, ive had dreams that are quite scary and seem real, (like a really wierd coincedences of what actually happens shortly afterwords, but I digress) so frankly, I sopose anything is posable in a sence. If people can see the future in dreams, I see no reason why we cant see a past. I have had dreams where sombody spoke Hungarian to me, and I understood me, and I know very little Hungarian to begin with. But oddly, what little Hungarian I know seems second nature to me, almot like its english (agian, sorry, I digress) So, I sopose it may be posable that we exsist more than onece, infact people tend to call me an old soul. I have known things ive never learned ever since I was little. (random shizmit I ran on about XD Click at your own risk)
I really dont advise going farther, but I cant stop you
But, if we do live more than once, well, I honestly cant imagine it. Imagine the impact you have on a family you had, than you just die, and leave them morning, than you do it over and over agian, making more and more people morn over you, bringing so much sorrow. It almost makes me feel guilty just thinking about it. Plus, imagine all the pian youv had, dieing over and over agian, never really being able to escape it. Just being caught in a loop, posably what Dejavu is, orselves doing somthing similure to what we have done, meaning we will be in a rut so long as we exsist, in one form or another. Damn, depending on how many times I may have been reborn, I must really be missed. Its almot worth a moment of silence, all the pain ive indured in one way or another, all the times ive died, and all the people ive left behind. And thell be gone forever in my life. even the most special of people in my life, all whiped away in an instant, never to be thought of agian. Gone. just likewise how ill be forgotten to everyone else I know. poof, forgotten, just dust in the wind. Damn, I must really sound depressing XD lol sorry, I get all dramatic at times lol XD pay no mind to me.

I agree with this, mainly because it's never happened to me either. Also, going by the fact of how much media we get filled up everyday with, whether we know of this or not, it wouldn't be suprising dreaming of things, or feeling things we've not experienced in "this life". We dream many things, we don't remember all of it.

However, there's really nothing that can be denied 100%
