She's a J-pop singer, and I've just recently started looking into songs by her. Anyone else following her, or others like her? Oh, and she's virtual.
Wow, you've actually only just touched the tip of the iceberg when you found Hatsune Miku. There's TONS of others like her. I think the most well known around her are Kagamine Len and Rin, Sakine Meiko, Shion Kaito, Kamai Gakupo, Megurine Luka and Kasane Teto. There are other versions of VOCALOID and UTAU like Hastune Mikuo who is a fan-made lower pitch guy version of her as well as ones like Akita Neru who is a fan-made version of her which Nico Nico have adopted for themselves. Trust me, Fan-made, VOCALOID or UTAU, is doesn't matter. Most of their songs rock.
I'm quite the Miku fan myself... it's really cool how they can do so many things with Vocaloid. I'll post some of the stuff I like. Rock/Metal Stuff -Blue -Sky Burial -God Slaying Machine -Re-Rise -Puppet -Black -Aria -Yukkuri Shiteitte ne Techno/Trance/Dance etc. -Unfragment (One of my personal favorites) -Silence -Light Song -Tranquilizer -Plug Out -Nebula -Anger -Lost One -Straosphere (2008 remix)
Uh-huh. I'm aware of the others, but I'm going through Miku's stuff first. Got a FLAC file of one of her albums last night. A cue file wasn't included, so I had to do the tedious job of going through with Audacity and separating them. So how do I join up for Nico Nico? I imagine it'd return higher quality than Youtube. And RvR, I'm surprised. No mention of BRS?
To be honest, I don't care too much for Miku's BRS song. I liked BRS even before Miku was around. I like this english fandub somone made of it though. I never figured out how to sign up but I know there's site called NicoSound where you can just copy/paste nico link and download it that way.
Miku, along with the Kagamines, and I think a couple others you listed, are all produced by Vocaloid. I mean, the characters are. The language packs and some of her songs are just fanmade. I like Miku, especially the one where she's singing about love on the top of a megaphone. I also like Len Kagamine. Wait, what is Black Rock Shooter?
Black Rock Shooter is an anime if I am not mistaken. Oh and RvR, Unfragment had been on repeat for the last half hour or so =).
She's a character created by the artist who goes by the name of "Huke.", the creators of Miku asked if they could write a song for her because Miku kind of looks like her. BRS isn't a vocaloid at all, nor is she related to Miku other then the one song. And yes, they are making at least an OVA for BRS. I think whether or not it will become an anime series is still to be announced.
I acutally got into the vocaloids because of the kagamine twins...and then I found Luka songs, which I think she's the only one that yeilds to english speaking fans by having the option of singing in english.
There are a lot of English Vocaloid programs. In fact, the technology is actually English. Luka doesn't at all 'yield' to English-speaking fans by having an 'option' to speak in English; she just has clearer recordings of each syllable and less of an accent than the previous programs. /has very minor experience with KAITO
Well, I mean she was made with english fans in mind apparently...She doesn't have the same outfit scheme as the others (which are just school uniforms really)because she's influnced by eastern items...But I like a lot of her music because she sounds different from the rest. And I wanted to try the vocaloid program also but it seems...hard? This is one of my faves right now from Luka
Hatsune Miku is my all-time favorite Anime singer. (Except for Kagamine Rin and Len, that is...) My favorite Miku song is Meltdown.
I don't listen to Hatsune on a regular basis, and I'm not sure if I'd really consider myself a true "fan" of her music, but I do find most of her songs very catchy despite the fact that a lot of the time the lyrics are gibberish..haha. But I find myself dancing in my seat when I do listen to her. Very catchy songs.
Well Luka's seiyuu (voice actress) speaks English pretty well apparently... You should listen to VanaN'Ice. It's a visual kei band with Len, KAITO, and Gakupo. Love their songs~~! >__<
