The book isn't out yet. Shouldn't you pick it from those that you read?

I like 6th. The drama, the suspense were all of my picks.

I'm sure you are all going to flame me but this has to be said. I don't like they Harry/Ginny relationship, sure I love Ron/Hermione but it never really hinted at Harry having feelings towards Ginny, Ginny seemed to look at him if you paid attention of Ginny in two scenes but Harry just falls in love with her all of a sudden, I wouldn't be suprised if Ginny slipped him a love potion in his Pumkin Juice.

Just finished the book. I got back at about 1:00 in the morning, and read it all through the night, only stopping for coffee and bathroom breaks. I it took me 9 hours to finish it. It's the best in the series, a non-stop, emotional book. It's simply incredible, and most of all we finally learn the past of Albus Dumbledore and the motives of Severus Snape.

I read it, and it took me a little more than 9 almost uninterrupted hours.

Finished it already. Took me 8 hours.

Wish there wasn't so much death though. That would have to be my only complaint.

And I suppose you have finished reading the book?

Well, I don't mean to brag but I have certainly finished reading. Only took me 8 hours...but that's because it's the weekend...

I cried when Harry found out he had to die and walked through the forest like he was not afraid of Death, though Ron confused me with the Parseltounge and if I recall 77 people died because there was 50 unamed people and (I'm not going to spoil their names) but 27 named (some not named but they wern't at the battle of Hogwarts) people died aswell so I think it's safe to say that Deathly Hallows is a blood bath, you could count 28 because a certain wizard found out he had to die but I don't think it counts since he came back. I also wanted one of the Trio or Ginny to die, I would of cried all day.

    Harry Potter Debate

I just want to start up a debate.

    About the Following:

1: Did the ending of Harry Potter live up to what you thought? Why or Why not?
2: Do you think the last two movies will live up to the rest now that all the HP Fans know how the series had ended? Why or Why not?
3: What are your views of Snape? (Mainly for readers who have finished the 7th book.)

If anyone has more questions to add to the debate, message me, and i will add them top this list.

They should have finished by now actually, because most people I know have finished it in 8/9 Hours and you should put spoilers in your title, that would warn them to not go to the thread if they haven't finished the book but still they should have finished by now.

Many Spoilers *DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED*

What is wrong with you? Obviously you do not understand Harry Potter (the books or character) at all, because you want him to die so badly. That's actually kind of sick.

Anyway, the epilouge I thought was not up to the grade of the rest of the book, but I think that was because she wrote it after she wrote the first chapter of the first book, and only made a few changes. And anyway, it's hard to skip ahead to when everybody's older.

Snape is definitely the most interesting of these questions.

DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED!

Okay, so Snape did the right thing in the end, and he risked his life, blah blah blah. I think that Harry (the 36-year-old Harry) is mistaken about Snape in the end. After he caused Lily's death, I think Snape thought that he could redeem himself by following Dumbledore's orders, and that's what he did. I don't think that he did it for the world, or for anyone else for that matter. He did it because he thought that after Voldemort was dead, his conscience would be clear, and he could live guiltlessly. It was not brave of him, really, because he had absolutely nothing to lose. All that he could lose was his worthless, pathetic life, completely devoid of meaning or hapiness. Snape was wrong in thinking that he could live life after he had "redeemed" himself. He would still be unhappy. Why? Because he could not find anything good in life, because he could not enjoy life. Snape could not enjoy being a Death Eater, and if he could not do that, he certainly could not be happy leading a good life, because that is just how twisted he was. In the end, I'm not quite sure that Snape was a "good guy". He did the right thing, but his motives were wrong. But ultimately that didn't matter anyway. In my opinion Snape's death was a blessing to him (and to everyone else), as he died doing something right, and didn't have to live on meaninglessly.

In addition, Snape's hatred of Harry is almost unfathomable. The reason why, I believe, might be because he saw Harry as some sort of unholy fusion of the person he hated most (James Potter), and of course the only person he ever loved (Lily Evans).

Totally agreed. That's what I thought as well.

Ugh, and that Epilogue. Sure it was cute, but it was a little bit on the 'hard-to-follow' side. It also kinda ticked me off, since it was like she was opening up possibilities for a second series or something of the sort. Ah well, it was a great book. It just ticked me off how they never finished school...

...Dude, calm down. This isn't a Flame Harry thread, this is a discussion of book 7.
