Cloud nodded understandingly. "Then, let's go!"
He leapt with ease to a new rooftop.
Aerith followed Cloud. They jumped across many more rooftops and pieces of
debris, heading away from the church. Cloud started to get far ahead of her.

 

"Wait... Wait, I said!" Aerith shouted, getting out of breath. She managed to catch up, carefully, femininely judging each gap. "Puff... wheeze... Slow.... down.... Don't leave me...."

 

"Funny...
I thought you were cut out to be
in SOLDIER?" Cloud said a little sarcastically.

 

"Oh! You're terrible!" Aerith said, trying to go along with it.

 

Cloud laughed pretty hard.
Which was odd for him, he couldn't remember the last time he had laughed.

 

Aerith smiled, but then asked, "Hey.... Cloud. Were you ever in SOLDIER?"

Harry was sitting on the stairs of 7th Heaven while the others were investigating someone. He looked up at the plate, and sighed, 'I get out of the Shinra building in who knows how long, and I don't see the sky at all. I hope wherever Hermione and Sirius are, they can see the sky.'

Underneath the Shinra mansion, within a small room in the basement, a large black dog stirred and woke up. It looked at the coffin beside it, then looked at the door. Though waiting for someone or something, the dog looked at the door patiently and yawned, falling back asleep.

 

".....
...I used to be. How did you guess?" Cloud asked.



OOC: Considering he's also wearing the SOLDIER uniform... I wonder why she could think that? Hmm... Funny that. lol

 

"...Your eyes. They have a strange glow..." Aerith said, trying to think back as if she saw those kind of eyes before.

 

"That's the sign of those who have been infused with Mako...
A mark of SOLDIER.
But, how did you know about that?" Cloud asked, studying her face.

 

"........Oh, nothing." Aerith said, innocently.

 

"Nothing....?" he repeated plainly.

 

"Right, nothing! Come on, let's go! Bodyguard!" Aerith said.

 

Cloud continued across the rooftops. Aerith following, this time more closely.

 

Cloud and Aerith hopped down from the rooftops across pieces of debris. They landed on a dirt road, Aerith smiled, "Whew! Finally made it off! Now what..." She looked around, then scampered forward, she turned to Cloud, "My house is over here. Let's hurry before they get here!" Cloud and Aerith traveled through the Sector 5 slums to Aerith's small cottage. They went inside.

"I'm home, mom." Aerith said, her mother, Elmyra, walked over. Aerith introduced Cloud, "This is Cloud, my bodyguard." "Bodyguard.....? You mean you were followed again!? Are you all right!? You're not hurt, are you!?" "I'm all right. I had Cloud with me."

Elmyra nodded, she looked at Cloud, "Thank you, Cloud." She went upstairs, Aerith asked Cloud, "So, what are you going to do now?"

 

"...Is Sector 7 far from here? I want to go to Tifa's bar." he asked, having made up his mind.
He had after all promised Barret and Tifa that he would see them again. They deserved to know he was still alive.

 

"Is Tifa...... a girl?" Aerith asked.

 

Cloud simply nodded. "Yeah."

 

"A girl... friend?" Aerith asked again, this time more curious.

 

"Girlfriend?"
Cloud thought to himself...
what was Tifa to him?
They were childhood friends... but they weren't actually together... how did he feel?
He couldn't think properly, and the longer he took to answer, the more weird things would feel.
"No way!" he answered suddenly, maybe sounding a bit more flustered than he meant to.

 

"Hee hee hee.... You don't have to get THAT upset..." Aerith moved toward Cloud, taking a small step. "Well, that's... nice. Let's see, Sector 7? I'll show you the way."
