Overall, I would say I am pleased with the adaptation, granted as with most of the HP movies, key plot points were not added to keep the movie at a manageable time frame. I felt that at times it was a bit sluggish and they might have beat you over the head a bit with the teen love, but on the whole, I was not as moved with the movie ending as I was with the book...it felt lacking.

In any event, I can't wait for 7a and 7b.

    Utter crap.

I sit through all the overplayed romance that was a minor plot point in the book, and at the end they miss out the final battle.

    THEY.

    CUT.

    THE.

    FINAL.

    BATTLE.

Now I can accept that not everything can be adapted. Sure, I might not like how they missed out the whole Bill X Fluer thing, but I can accept it. After all, a movie can only be so long. Heck, I'll even turn a blind eye to the lack of the rest of Voldemort's past. Some things don't make for good movies. Talking scenes can only be so good. But they missed out the final battle.

Action is what a movie needs if it doesn't have plot. And this one definitely didn't go down the plot road. So why would the epic battle at the end be forfeit in favour of Death Eaters that smash cutlery and burn cottages? It was ridiculous.

Also, why the heck would the Burrow be burnt? We know that Voldemort wants to finish Harry on his own, so the idea wasn't for them to kill him, thus their actions were pointless. The adults were useless, as they completely forgot that they could apparate outside of the flaming circle/back to the house. Even if we ignore plot points for why it shouldn't have happened, it still makes no sense to put it in there. After all, there's no lack of stuff to use to fill in time.

The movie sucked, plain and simple.

I don't really care for the Harry Potter movies. I did see 1, 3 and 5. It doesn't hold my interest.

It's an okay movie, nothing to write home about though. :v Too much romance, not enough action, and a bit too much comedy imo. The whole movie is like, maybe spoilers...

Find out what Slughorn told Tom Riddle- NO MATTER WHAT FIND OUT, teen angst, teen angst, teen angst, hormones in overdrive, and no epic duels/battles really.

I love how Ginny is taller than Harry though. xD And if there was a scene stealer award it would definitely have to go to Ginny or Luna.

    Luna is always awesome. xD

I did find the teenage hormone thing to be a bit much but eh, it was alright with me as there were other things going on. I thought the movie was great considering that the book as well was leading up to the last book and well, this movie was leading up to the last two movies.

I still want to see it. c:
I think it'll be a fun way to spend my night. I think I may be going today. ^^
I hope it isn't that bad. I stopped reading the books after the 5th one so...I won't be comparing it the whole movie and I'll probably enjoy it more. xD

(Little spoilers in this post, I tried to avoid it as much as possible...)

That was really only thing that significantly bugged me enough to make me complain on and on about.
I was WAITING for that battle. And then it's like, "Ok, let's rap it up, folks." "Ain't it supposed to be more epic in the end?" "No time, it's already 2 and a half hours long." "Oh bugger..."
That and the fact that they left stuff out about Lupin and Tonks that I thought would have been somewhat good to add in there... >.>
And it shouldn't have been called "... and the Half-Blood Prince" since they didn't mention it nearly enough. They should have called it "... oh bloody hell, Snape???"

Other than that IT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME! >8D

    Maybe got some spoilers here...

Agreed, I wanted to see 'emo'-Tonks dammit <.<

The lack of the end battle was a bit of a disappointment, and the burning of the Burrow-scene was kinda ridiculous. (What, only teenagers can go through the fire or something?) Also, that scene would've been perfect for a bad werewolf vs good (but grouchier than what I expected) werewolf and crazy evil aunt vs niece (a family tie that was never revealed in the movies >.<).

Hormones taking over Hogwarts got at some times a bit silly, but I could still sit through it without gritting my teeth.
I loved the comedy in it, especially considering how sad the ending was, and that Deathly Hallows is pretty much a series of downers, with a few bleak spots of happiness that are almost always ruined by something tragic happening.

The actors were brilliant, I think this is the first time I've been happy with all of them, they managed to portray their characters near perfectly. And the film was visually amazing.

Of course, silly. And it also stops apparating, so no magical teleporting outside the fire for you!

I was really really disappointed with all they cut. They could have trashed some of the kissing scenes for the good stuff. Tonks is my favorite HP character, and I was really looking forward to seeing her angsting over Lupin. imo that's a very important part, because when they eventually do get together and have a child it shows that even in this dark time people can still be happy and be in love. But they kind of screwed up Lupin in Prisioner of Azkaban so I digress.

I was very pleased at how they put in Voldemort's past, even though they skipped out on a lot of it. They kept enough that it was still a major part of the film and was interesting. As a big HP nerd I liked those parts. Little Voldie was so creepy though.

The whole Ginny was taller than Harry thing was... strange, but it can't really be helped. xD I didn't like how they depicted their relationship at ALL. In the book it took a WHILE for Harry to realize he had feelings for her, and when they did eventually get together the relationship was a bit more interesting than them just kissing for like two seconds. :/

MALFOY. Malfoy's actor did an AMAZING job, I've got to say. The pure fear in his face when he told Dumbledore that he had to kill him or Voldemort would kill him was mindblowing. I was disappointed at the scenes of him in the Room of Requirement though. There was like seven shots of him doing the exact thing, pulling the curtain off of the Vanishing Cabient.

The whole battle scene at the Burrow was really really dumb, I've got to say. Especially when the Burrow was burning. It was kind of like "wtf, I love the Burrow ;_;" when I first saw it, but the scene lasted for like 2 seconds and then it just jumped to normal days at Hogwarts. The Weaslys weren't even sad or anything. That was really stupid.

The Ron/Hermione thing was KILLED. I don't even think Hermione was supposed to make her feelings that apparent, although I haven't read the book in a while. I know she was supposed to get pissed when Ron was off snogging Lavender but wtf.

Quidditch was awesome, although there wasn't really enough of it imo. Did anyone else notice that Harry's number was seven, and Voldie has seven Horcruxes?

Slughorn was awesome, I loved him. Dumbledore was too.

As for people who stole the show, it was definitely Luna and Cormac. Cormac is such a great character and he was so perfectly creepy.

Also the scene where Dumbledore fights off the Inferi was awesome. I cannot get over how ****ing amazing that fire spell was.

I wasn't really angry that they cut the final battle, but it did kind of detract from how serious everything was. The part where Dumbledore is laying dead and like the whole school is standing there staring was SO SAD, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ALL RAISED THEIR WANDS. ;_; I was bawling.

Hermione's cardigan in the end was pretty cool beans. I want one.

Overall, I really really liked the movie. It was one of the best HP movies.

i still hate ginny, i mean the character is ok, but seriously i think the actress is just hideous, im sorry if that's mean, but i seriously think Hermione is just so much prettier, and well in the book Ginny is supposed to be the 'hot stuff' of the school

the ending was just PERFECT, the fire was totally badass and the zombie whatever things were fan-frickin-tastic

Draco's Actor definitely pulled it off, he was so god damn good i was actually into it.

When Ron was charmed i lol'd my pants off

and OMG when Harry went to Hagrid's he was hilarious

i cant beleive im saying this but Helen Botham Carter was too over the top for me and i also was not happy how Narcissa turned out

Oh dear god i know, I just keep think of Thats 70's Show when i see them D: lol

again, i know Ron and Ginny did not even look phased, i was like "OK GUYS your parents have no where to live now... and you look pretty happy for that"

Harry + "Liquid Luck" = hilarious awesomity.

And agreed with everyone who has said this: Tom Felton did an amazing job as Draco. He makes you want to have sympathy for him. Just his facial expressions... and GAH! So good!

Whoever rated this movie "PG" needs to be smacked upside the head. There were 8/9 year-olds several rows in front of me squirming and whining when Dumbledore was drinking that trippy stuff in the cave. And I don't blame them, if I was that age I would have been crying. And you can't blame the parents for taking their kids to a movie only rated PG.
    The 7th better be 14A.
