As some of you may know, it's DT's birthday today! So I decided to write him up a little birthday story. I know it's not that good, so please forgive me. He deserves alot better, I'm aware. Anyway, Enjoy. -insert cute title here- Varying hues of red and yellow filled the endless sky outside the small Video/DVD Rental Store. The Atmospheric and scenic phenomena was truly a sight to behold. The young woman sighed as she looked out to the view, her work shift had just begun and she was already terribly bored. She looked around the worn out place. Shelves and shelves of old and new movies surrounded her. She began to hum as she walked around, sliding her fingers across the dusty old tapes which nobody really paid any attention too. How sad, she thought to herself. There was some timeless treasures hidden within the row, she thought back happily to her childhood and recalled the countless times she had watched “The Land Before Time†on video tape. Her bliss was interrupted as the bell above the Shops door rung, catching her attention. She fixed up her blonde hair before retreating to back behind the counter. She looked at the customer and gave a smile. It was the young man who would always come in when it was her shift. He was tall, very tall, he always had to crouch around the whole store, and he was handsome. “Hey, Midnight†The tall boy said, his cheeks slightly tinted. “Hiya†Midnight replied in a cheerful tone. She watched him as he walked away to examine the “Adventure†Section of the DVD shelves. She couldn’t help but giggle. Her childlike sound has caught the young man’s attention again. “Hm?†“It’s nothing†She said, smiling again. “It’s just that. You’ve basically watched every single DVD available in this store of that genre. It’s silly that you’re looking for more; you know you’ve watched them all. You’re silly, DT.†Red leaked into his cheeks as he nervously smiled and bit his lip. She was right. He shifted his feet and sighed. “I-I don’t really watch them, y’know.†He confessed, meeting Midnights eyes. “Oh?†The blonde haired girl arched a brow, puzzled. “Yeah. The real reason..I c-come in here is...†He clammed up and quickly looked away. Curious, Midnight titled her head to the side and pressed one of her fingers to her lips. “You don’t have to tell, if you don’t want too†She said even though she was really curious as to what the reason was. But she was always very curious, like a child almost. “No, I want too†He muttered, his eyes still staring at the plain floor. He looked back up, blushing before taking in a deep breath. “I confess. The only reason I come in here so often and end up renting movies is because..What I really want to do is ask you out..But I always get too scared.†Midnight’s eyes widened as she took in the information but soon enough, she looked down at the floor and let out another soft giggle. DarkTraitor shook, fearing she was laughing at him. Midnight gave him a cheery look; it both calmed him and made his heart flutter. Her eyes looked so reassuring. “You don’t how many times…I wanted to call you and ask how you were doing the movies. I’d always end up dialling your number then chicken out as soon as I heard the dial tone.†Her voice was soft; she closed her eyes as if she was imagining the scene again. “I...I like you!†DT said, rushing it out. He covered his mouth in shock. He said it. He actually said it. Midnight opened her eyes and grinned, almost laughing at the bashful boy. “I like you, too.†She said simply. “Now, how about we go out for something to eat after my shift?†DT was quick to nod. Midnight giggled at him and waved him out the store. DT fist pumped the air in happiness and he walked away, eager for 7pm [Midnights shift end] to come. --- I know, I overused the blushing. Forgive me! :c
Oh god, don't know what to say. It's adorable, and horribly horribly accurate. And you referenced "The Land Before Time", which was my favourite movie as a kid, and you couldn't possibly have known that! Yeah, don't have words. Thank you, it's a wonderful present. ^^
*turns bright red* Thanks Kelly, that was really good, very cure and yeah, a bit accurate too. xD (I'm giggling nervously now as I try to figure out what to say) (And once again Happy Birthday DT!! :glomp:)
