Happily Ever or Never after?

Shadow kept herself hidden, her will as powerful as the Grims. She mournfully looked at her work, it being ruined, but she had no time to dwell upon it. She quickly went into another story, taking birds, flowers, and toys, and returning them to the story of Beauty and the Beast. 'I will revive the stories of their happy endings, for that is the way they have been written.'
The birds sung cheery notes in secrecy, the toys were bright and colorful next to the dreary town, and the newly planted flowers brought back the bees, allowing pollination.

 

Grimm frowned, crossing her arms. "Curse that person, trying to make my darkness disappear.... NNOITRA!" She shouted.

 

Shadow quietly sneaked back into Cinderella's story. 'No use sticking around, I'll fix the story later, for now, I must help dear Cinder complete her chores, so that she may even have free time.'

 

Ulquiorra stood above Cinderella's town. "Trash."

Nnoitra heard his name. "Tch." He appeared next to Grimm. "What d'ya want?"

 

"Keep that attitude up and you'll wish you didn't have a tongue." Grimm glared at him. "Find out who's trying to oppose me and kill them. No mercy."

 

Nnoitra rolled his eyes. "Fine. Whatever." He began walking.

 

Shadow was helping Cinderella on whatever chores she wasn't nearly close to starting yet, doing half of the job, and then heading out of the story. 'I will return if a Grim decides to ruin my work.' She then decided it wasn't a smart idea to go back to Beauty and the Beast, so she'd go visit the seas of the Little Mermaid.

 

Grimm watched him go, frowning at his back. "Thin ice. Watch your step."

 

Shadow was happily swimming through the waters, she didn't have to worry much about attaching herself to various fish, but if she needed, she would hide among the shadows of the coral. One thing about the ocean she didn't like: There wasn't many places she could hide.

 

Ariel smiled, swimming along. Every so often, she would so a loop-de-loop in the water or jump out into the air, enjoying the time she had with seeing the Grims. She started singing to herself, making the fish follow her.

 

Shadow heard these cheery notes, and followed under Ariel's shadow to listen. 'Ah, a performance, lovely timing.'

 

Ariel carried on singing, watching her shadow. "You can come out now. I know you're there~"

 

Shadow came out, blinking in surprise. "How'd you know it was me?" She chuckled with amusement.

 

"I've seen you before. Helping out when Grims come to get rid of their darkness." Ariel smiled. "But aren't YOU a Grim?"

 

Shadow sighed. " I am not a Grim, nor am I a story character. I'm as old as the stories themselves. I just don't want the Grim ruining the stories I've been watching over for so long." Her gaze hardened as she looked up to the sky, her thoughts distant. "But I am afraid the Grim will find me and try to destroy me. Though I am not sure if they can." This earned an amused chuckle from Shadow.

 

"Interesting.... But what do you mean 'stories'?" Ariel asked.

 

"My dear, you shouldn't have to worry about that, unless a Grim completely ruins your world, I am not allowed to tell." Shadow was very keen on keeping things secret.

 

"Awh, secrets aren't very fun." Ariel frowned slightly.

 

"True, it really isn't, but I have no choice. There are rules, and rules should be followed. Only in desperate times should those rules be broken." Shadow sighed, looking afar. "I'm afraid I have to go. Deal with Grimm, I know she wants nothing more then to kill me though." she chuckled at her own comment. "I bid you farewell, Ariel. Do not tell anyone of me."
Shadow quickly retreated from The Little Mermaid and back to Beauty and the Beast. 'I will go face to face with Grimm, she needs to be put in her place.'

 

Ariel blinked, watching Shadow go. "What was that all about?" She sighed and carried on swimming.
