I KNEW IT! It would still be funny though. BTW: My Grandma might get me Gamecopy Pro for X-Mas. I will be able to have two versions of my KH2 game. One with codes, and one regular.

It lets you copy games to a DVD as a backup. But legally, you can only do it with your own games. So you can't copy rented games. It's also illeagal if you try to sell the backups. But you CAN use it to edit the ELF, then copy it to the DVD. That's what I wanna do. Mua ha ha!

 

Do you even understand how to do what it is that you want to do? My friends brother is a SUPER HACKER. Like, on Skiller's level. He has taught me most of the hackin stuff I know.

 

btw, if you DO switch ELFs you can use codes for whatever ELF you put into it! meaning no porting! but sometimes games with different region versions of their ELFs dont' react well......

For an NTSC/UC KH2, its a file on the disc called SLUS210.05
The ELF is the file used to hack codes (unless u use dumps... but thats another story)

In a general case...
Its the file on any Playstation disc that is named like this SLUS###.## or SLES###.## (the number = SLES/SLUS #

(Popstations turn PS1 Games into PSP games, in other words, FFVII on PSP)

The most common are SLUS and SLES

Anyway, only Playstation games get numbers, PS1, PSP, and PS2 games all have their own numbers for each game.

Okay I THINK I'm starting to understand hacking now. but I have a few questions.

I know about the ELF file now but what is a dump? and where do I find the dump for a game? and how is a dump used for hacking? I heard EvilMan_89 say that you NEED a dump in order to hack any decent codes. (correct me if I'm wrong)

and my last question is how do you get a live dump for a game?

sorry if these are stupid questions. but I am a MAYJOR noob compared to you. so that's why I'm asking.

1) you make a dump code
2) you can see the values as your using them and they do make better codes
3) a live dump code or a emulator

 

I forgot to mention that I found the PS2.dis program and downloaded it. now I just need to know what the heck I'm doing when I'm trying to hack codes. So I'm gonna wait till Christmas when the hacking tutorial in the website mentioned in jlhack7's signature is updated. then hopefully I'll figure it out.

Speaking of Elf Files how would you take your own ELF file from your LEGALLLY BOUGHT disk and use it on a emu such a PCSX2???

The Reason I wanna know is so I can play KH2 Without bringing my disk with me anywhere, with the risk of losing and or damiging it (That Happened to My orginal KH so I had to buy the Greatest hits.

 

put it in your DVD drive and copy it from the disc. the file will be called SLUS
