Okay, so I've been playing for a bit, and it's a pretty awesome game so far! Glad I bought it!

 

yea know i bet none of you guys here can tell me all of the players from the .hack shows and games that have a bracelet and can use data drain?

 

Probably not. Anyway, I just got GU Rebirth today, and I find it's much better than the original series.

 

lucky i tried getting that at gamestop but they had the only the 2 and the 3 ............wait you did watch .hack//roots before you got g.u. right ......

 

No, should I have? I heard it wasn't that good. I bought it on ebay.

it freaking tells you what happens to haseo BEFORE g.u. trust me it really clears things up

yea it shows all sorts of stuff that wouldnt make sense unless you watched it like what the twilight birgade was and the famous sakisaka catch prase

although GU is sort of a continuing story from .hack//IMOQ, there isnt really much overlap, some of the characters reappear, but most of the recurring characters have new players, now so, theyre not the same "person" the main character of the original series is Haseo's "antagonist" so to speak, for a good portion of the story, and if you have a //Quarantine clear data file, said character will even retain the name you gave him in the previous series. I would suggest playing //IMOQ (Infection, Mutation, Outbreak, Quarantine) before the GU series, mainly for aesthetic purposes. It is NOT necessary though

 

Yeah, I understand. Although, I started playing Infection awhile ago, then I tried GU Rebirth when it arrived. I got hooked on it, and I'm at the final boss now.

 

hehe,cant wait to see if you get who is who now then....every main character in that game is supposed to be linked to an older character...

 

I see. I had no idea. But yeah, I'm level 37 atm and I'm right before the boss fight with Tri-Edge. I tried once, but lost. I might lvl up a bit.

 

i didn't know the recurring characters had different players except it was obvious in the case of "Tri-Edge"

 

Well, I just beat GU Rebirth at lvl 43. I'm going to have to wait till I have more money before buying the next one.

I dunno about you though but I couldn't find it for a decent price. I had to pay 80 bucks for it on Amazon. ;__;
It is really addicting though, huh? Oh and, I think the next volume comes with the first episode of //ROOTS on the disc (I think -- I loaned it to a friend so I don't have it with me, but I know the third one has episode 6 on it), so you might get to check that out as well.
Also this is going to sound kinda random but while the art in //ROOTS started having major issues about halfway through, the soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous. Same for the games, but I love the art in the games, so. I still haven't gotten over the music from the introduction and lost grounds.

 

I see. Well, I went looking earlier on ebay and found some for around $30. Unfortunatly, I'm a little tight on money and have to wait till I have more. Stupid bills. >_<

 

you should just buy it used at Gamestop or EB Games.
