I find that hard to believe. Playing video games equals moving. I highly doubt he died from video games.

Yeah, that's what I thought, too.

My best guess is that there was a hidden cause and people just assumed it was from video games.

This sounds to me like another one of those things people are going to use as a crusade against video games. :L

But I don't know anyone who just plays video games for 12 hours straight without moving. I think my longest marathon was about seven hours, and even then I got up to eat, go to the bathroom, stretch, etc. I believe there are disclaimers in a lot of the game manuals that say you should stretch every hour or so, too.

It's really not the video games fault. :/ Though that is biased, coming from a gamer, haha.

Got a feeling this might be bad for the gaming industry. I just don't get why people hate video games. It's like watching a very long movie where you control what's going on to an extent.

I agree... I don't think the video game was the cause. If he had some kind or mental or even a problem in his brain I would say the game was at fault. In this case it just sounds like someone who was really lazy and ended up killing himself over an obsession.

My dad is in his late forties and he plays games constantly. The difference between him and this man include the fact that my dad never stops moving while playing. Its pretty funny... he's like a little kid again. Anyway, it's always sad to hear about a death so I hope this mans family is coping well and a good message is learned from the experience. Don't sit in one place for to long, move around and exercise. Its good for the body anyway.

That's true, never thought of that way... I guess it's always important to prolong your life with healthy choices such as moving around and eating right etc. but it still is sad...

The things we do for those weekly challenges...

The guy took a day-off and made a bad decision. It can happen to anyone. I hope the family copes alright.

That's really sad. I feel sorry for the family for their loss but I hope that no one comes up and says IT WAS THE GAME'S FAULT.
I've done full day gaming marathons a couple of times before and I have always taken quick breaks to go to the toilet or get something to eat.

It's true. If you don't move your legs enough, blood will clog up and eventually travel to your lung. This man obviously played more video games than they said.

you just wait. This happens quite a bit. Not like every day, but you'll end up with quite a few people who will do this exact same thing. Still, I know I play video games too much, but not like this. I still excercise and eat somewhat healthy
