    Hey, guess what? If you already know about this, go you, but if not: Riku's name means LAND in Japanese. Here's the proof:

    Riku = Land

    I found it on some website I found a month ago. It surprised the HELL outta' me. So, this means everytime SORA has EVER said RIKU's name, he's just been shouting the Japanese word Land over and over again. Funny ****!:D

    Kinda old news. Sora means sky and Kairi means water, too, I think.

    Um.....the whole FORUM knows this. Where do you think we got the name Terra for the enigmatic soldier from?
    Japanese----->English
    Sora=Air
    Riku=Land
    Kairi=Water

    so we figured.....

    Latin----->English
    Ven=Air
    Terra=Earth
    Aqua=Water

    Nomura confirmed Aqua and Ven and we realised the link between the names so we pushed the envelope

    Yeah, I caught that. I just didn't know until now is all.

    *And yet I've read EVERY forum talking about what each character's names mean TO DATE and I STILL managed to forget? Weird... DAMN MY SHORT TERM MEMORY!!!*

    Well, I knew about Ven, Aqua and Terra but not that Sora means Air- Do you think it has anything to do with the word Soar(sp?) (Like Soaring through the sky) idk. I didn't know about Kairi or Riku either.

    Yeah, some people are kind of picking on you a bit, but that knowledge has been around for a looOOoong time, since the first KH game. Well, I suppose now you remember! =:)

    I at first wasn't very crazy about Aqua or Terra's names because they are Spanish directly meaning water and earth. Riku, Sora and Kairi's names were not in total meaning that, as in Rik = earth, Kai = water, and the ri was added to make it sound more feminine I suppose. But, yeah, this stuff was old news. I figured out the Terra and Aqua thing pretty immediately since I've spoken Spanish for years. It was easy to connect their names. I do await for the significance of that.

    They were picking on me? I thought I was just receiving positive discrimination. Oh well, I guess I just don't catch things like that when I'm bored. And I've spoken Spanish too, I've just never got to Terra, Aqua or Ven. But, my dad taught me about that, so I caught up pretty fast. And in truth, I did know what Riku's, Sora's and Kairi's names meant, it's just that I have such a short term memory that it makes m seem like I have ADD and then I forget that I even knew it. Ooh, look! A quarter!

    Er, where was I?

    Well, they ARE the same thing, so, I don't really know which person to agree with on the fact. I'll go with BOTH of you guys, seeings as they are two opinions of the same answer.

    Meheh, well hey, I forgot that fact because I was spending my time reading a FF online web comic called Nuklear Power. It's a really funny and crude comic, and it has over 800 chapters in it. Brian Clevinger, eat your heart out!

    Also.....It makes sense...Because you know Destiny Islands? Riku's the sand on the Island, Sora's the wind that blows on the Island and Kairi's the sea that makes the Island float!
