~Guardians~

Sky walked out of the building and flew up into the sky once they were outside, 'So, I think that went pretty well. He seems pretty good, I could of done a lot worse for sure'

'As long as you're happy' Arrow answered, flying beside her.

She laughed turning to fly on her back and just letting the wind flow through her hair, 'Maybe this chosen thingy won't be so bad after all'

The kestral just shook his head at her, 'Tomorrow's when the work starts though'

'I know, I can't wait' She landed carefully outside her house, 'Make your self at home'

 

Waking up in a cold sweat, Josette squirmed out of bed. "I....I can't I have to--UWAAAAAAAAAGH!!!" her high pitched screams echoed about the mansion as she scrambled to get free from her bedsheets. Shoving her shoes onto her feet in the most violent manner, the tiny girl rushed down the stairs and out her front door.
She couldn't remember where she was running to but her feet guided her where. Tears dropping down her cheeks in a constant stream made her near-blinded but she couldn't stop. Not right now.
Never.
She had to stop it.

Barnabas watched this entire display with his tired, sunken eyes, "It's happening again I see...."

 

"Okay,Good night Partner." He said to her as she left.He himself walked to his room and jumped into his bed,sighing. Can't believe I was late again...Eh,I should get some rest. He soon fell asleep in his small bed.

Rath laid on his bed as he glanced up at the ceiling "why" Rath muttered to himself as he raised one arm and held it in the air. "ridiculous...me teaming up with another...especially one so young. What was that woman thinking" Rath though as he stared at his held up fist. Although he questioned it his mind was really pondering about being partnered, it was pondering about what he said. "always stay by her side. Why would I make such an oath" Rath said as he sighed. Unable to fall asleep, Rath stood up and gripped the sheathed sword next to his bed and placed it on his back. Walking out the door Rath breathed in the night air. Whenever he was unable to sleep he would do some training

Josette ran for what seemed like hours to the point that her feet blistered from lack of socks and her small body had become frigid from the night air. "Rath!" she called out to the boy before colliding into him. Gripping his clothes and pulling his body towards herself, "Not safe!" the girl cried, "It's not safe!" her big eyes looked up at him in uncontrollable fear. "P-please! We have to go!" This yelling was now at the point of screaming.

 

From the shadows, Rath and Josette were watched. The girl that hid there narrowed her eyes in anger that the girl had appeared. She was only here for one of them, even just one extra death would defeat the point. The male Choosen, who had been alone in the night, would have been a perfect target before the small girl had appeared, but it seemed now she'd have to find a different victim. She sighed to herself, though was unheard.
And I really wanted to see how much blood he had. she thought to herself, slipping away, deeper into the shadows. This time there was a slight noise. She wanted them to hear something, just not know what it was. They wouldn't know until later how close they had been to exactly what they were training to face if she had done it right. She just wished she were able to see their reactions when they realised it.

Rath's eyes widened upon the girls sudden actions but immediately his gaze glanced over at the area the sound came from and stared at it for a bit "tsk...coward" Rath muttered quietly and glanced down at the girl who was crying. "why would you say something like that" Rath said remaining calm in order to understand the situation

 

Josette put her arms around him(which with her size, was more of him hugging his legs), "I saw you were gonna get hurt." There was a slight sob interrupting her words, "And I have to protect you! Always!" Stating this to a boy who was twice as old as she was made a very peculiar sight. Nonetheless, she needed to get them out of there. Now.
"We hafta go home!" This was followed by a long snort from her runny nose, "C'mon!" There was something wrong here- she couldn't possibly go back to her home, it was too far off and she couldn't even remember the way she took. What a pain.

Rath was stunned upon what he heard. He just stared at her as she cried "protect...me?" Rath said still stunned at what she said. Regaining his cool Rath kneeled down to his knee. Using the bottom of his shirt he wiped Josette's face "calm yourself down" Rath said as he stood up. Looking away Rath held out his hand towards her "lets go. Stick with me and I swear nothing will go wrong" Rath said. Although he was not facing her when he said that, you could tell he really meant what he said

His kind gestures were more than enough for Josette to be taken aback.
He truely was her friend.
Her only friend.
"Okay." The small girl nodded in agreement; taking his hand without another word. Her eyes softened as she stared at the back of his shirt, 'I'm glad my nightmare didn't come true.' Her thoughts wandered on the subject slowly before a sharp pain in her feet redirected them. "Ow-" she started to howl from the blisters but stopped. Josette didn't want to annoy him so she kept her mouth closed for the rest of the trip.

As they walked along he glanced over at Josette once she made a noise. 'who knows how far she came from...and judging from how scared she was she must have run non stop...' Rath thought to himself and went down on his knee "hop on my back and no complaining" Rath said said calmly

 

"Ah!" The girl jumped nearly out of her skin. She didn't expect him to speak.
Noticing that he offered her a piggyback ride, she slowly crawled onto his back. "Th-thank you." Looking upwards she then pointed upwards, "UWA! So pretty!" The child's index finger retracted and she reached to the sky, "It's like a big circle-man!" Josette was talking about the full moon which hung over the night sky. Waving kindly to it she smiled, her tears completely gone. "Hi circle-man!"
That childish nature of her's began showing through again.

Rath walked on until they actually reached the door to his house. Deciding not to open it yet he gazed up to the sky alongside Josette. Looking over at what she was pointing at, Rath stared up at the huge moon "the moon is quite...beautiful tonight" Rath said casually. After gazing out at the sky for a good long time Rath looked over at Josette "its late and you need sleep. Training is tomorrow and I do not need you slowing me down. You will be able to gaze at the moon tomorrow" Rath said as he began to unlock his door

 

'Full moon. What a pretty name for him' The child thought to herself before watching him stare at the moon, 'I don't think anyone's ever talked to me this much before. Nope, niope.'
When he unlocked the door, she bound inside quickly; escaping the heat as fast as possible.
Walking about his home the girl looked obviously amazed at everything, "Wow, there's furniture!" For some reason this was an incredible feat in her opinion. "Mine is gone now." The girl stated in an overly optomistic manner, "All gone." Josette took off her shoes and rubbed her cold feet for a moment before standing up, "Where do I sleep?"

Closing and locking the door behind him Rath walked up to Josette "all gone?" Rath said questioning the reason her furniture was all gone 'this kid is really something' Rath thought to himself as he looked over at his bedroom "there is a bed in that room over there. Its all yours" Rath said pointing at the bedroom

 

"Mkay!" Cheered Josette, still optomistic now that the danger seemed to be gone. Just being around her new friend kept the bad things away. The responsibility of protecting him gave her an almost empowered feeling. She stopped in the doorway of the bedroom and turned around, "M-my headache's gone." After this announcement, she continued to shuffle her way into bed, soundly. "Goodnight!" The girl called out to Rath before drifting off into her dreams once again.

"Night" Rath muttered raising his hand at the girl that went off to sleep. Walking over to the couch next to him Rath jumped onto it and laid down on it "she is so young..." Rath said quietly staring up at the ceiling "I was younger than her" Rath said suddenly placing his hand on his hand on his head as pain filled his head. Eventually the pain subsided and Rath fell into a deep sleep

"STORM! WAKE UP!"

"Hmm!?" Storm lifted her head, smacking it into Allora's, who, was not only in her human forme, but sitting on Storm's back.

"Ow!" The two chorused, both holding their heads in obvious pain.

Allora jumped off Storm, grabbing her arm. "Come on! The kitchen's on fire!"

The guardian's eyes nearly popped out of her head as she glared at the Pixie. "What did you do, call the Fire clan to cook your bacon for you?!"

"...I-I was trying to.....to make you breakfast, and then I accidentally left a towel on the oven and it caught on fire and I'm so sorry Storm I didn't mean-"

"Deep breath Allora! Take a deep breath now." Storm closed her eyes, lifting her hands as she ran into the kitchen. Using her Aura, she pulled water out of the fridge, and waved her hands down, the water splashing against the fire. Not only creating a huge wave that doused the girls from head to toe, but also putting the fire out.

Soaking wet as much as her Guardian, Allora spit out water on the floor, looking at her guardian underneath her dripping bangs and hot tears. "I.....I know I messed up-"

"-You did, but you were trying to do a nice thing for me. And...you did give the kitchen a makeover." Storm joked, wiping soot of the island. Turning back to her pixie she sighed and wrapped her in a big hug. "You really do help in a lot of ways for a Helper."

".........Right!" Allora giggled. "....Thanks."

A horrid scream echoed loudly through Rath's mind. Tossing and turning Rath's eyes immediately opened and Rath sat up. Panting and sweating Rath looked around his home "a dream...no" Rath said quietly holding his head as he lowered his legs from the couch and stood up. "Its early" Rath said closing his eyes as he lazily walked over to the bathroom.

Brushing his teeth and taking a good shower he walked out and looked back at the clock and let out a sigh. Giving a glance over at his bedroom where Josette slept, he looked over at the kitchen. "I guess I better make something" Rath said as he headed to the kitchen and begun to make some breakfast. His skills in socializing may be really poor but his skills in cuisine was unintentionally amazing

 

The Deyanian had left, leaving behind something that would show that the Guardians were not invincible. She hadn't killed, not this time, but what she had done would be enough, for now. She was sure that she would be back, however. She wasn't done messing with them just yet.

There was a heavy knocking on Rath's front door, three successive knocks that were delivered in short time; as though rushed for some reason, maybe even panicked.
