Pfft. I am still sceptical on the actual game, but I love Rockstar's marketing. Rockstar is pretty awesome, I'll buy the game even if it's only to support them.

Oh gosh, some of these are hilarious. I wouldn't say I'm excited for GTAV, not since IV was disappointing, but Rockstar know how to catch their fans eyes.

Wasn't this Kifflom thing mentioned in past games if memory serves right?
Like that Area 52 broadcast or whatever in San Andreas had a nut who said KIFFLOM a lot.

Anyways, I can't wait to see more, there marketing is always a joy to read and see.

I really like this new religion. It fulfills me spiritually.

Anyways, sure the marketing is neat and fun, but it won't hook me until I see more of the game itself.

I'm sure the game will be great. The PC port will be horrendous though.

I'm sure it will be a pretty great game, GTAIV was by no means a bad game. What I really meant was that I am still sceptical wether or not this game will actually be as fun as the GTA games prior to IV were. The production values alone make these games good.

But hey, at least the PC version will get some fun mods, right?

Yeah, but Rockstar games outside of Max Payne 3, a corridor shooter, were all terribly optimized. I have a pretty powerfully computer and I get really bad frame rates and lag spikes out of nowhere.

As far as the game, I also hope they go back to San Andreas' crazy action. The realism was cool, but I wouldn't want another game like that right after the last one.

I've heard about the mediocre ports Rockstar are making for the PC. It's really a shame too, considering how many resources that company has they should be able to make all their versions pretty flawless. But oh well, it's better than the PC gamers not getting it at all.

That's what I mean. GTAIV was certainly impressive and it had a great story. But after playing through the campaign, I was just done with the game as a whole. Whereas with Vice City and San Andreas I could play it a lot, just messing around in the big playground they gave you. The fact that the setting for the new one is San Andreas should mean that it's back to that though. Hopefully. The teaser trailer did look promising.

I feel bad that I've only ever played GTAIII and Vice City. I've rented the other ones, so maybe I just didn't have enough time to play to get further into them, but none of them really hooked me like those two did. I really want to start playing them again, and it's rather boring playing the same story over and over again, so maybe I'll buy this (since renting stores are basically out of business now).

Vice City will always have my heart - mostly because I looooove 1980s music.

Agreed on Vice City. The atmosphere in that game was just superb, mostly because of how amazing 80s music was. Still, I would recommend you getting San Andreas. It's got a lot of buildup before it really gets good, but when it does- it gets really good. Although, most sandbox games do have the same story. The whole "starting from scratch and working your way to the top" seems to be used extremely often in these games. So the story won't be that different at its core, the fun lies in the characters and how everything unfolds.

Now that I think about it, the only sandbox game I can recall that doesn't follow this trope is Saint's Row the Third, where you go from being rich and powerful to richer and more powerful. A pretty nice change of pace.
