But if that were the case, wouldn't it have taken affect back in the 50th or some such?
Not knocking the theory, just saying there'd be complications.

I cried an awful lot when I rewatched it this morning xD Matt Smith is my Doctor and he was amazing! I love Capaldi already (I've loved him for ages though).

This also makes The Name of the Doctor make more sense because it annoyed me that the TARDIS grave interior was the current TARDIS when the desktop theme will probably change many times in the future but now we know the future has been changed. But does this mean that Clara never jumped into his time stream to stop the GI? Because he didn't die on Trenzalore...

    But it still makes sense
because if he publicly claimed that he was old and dying, and he suddenly disappeared without an explanation after that explosion of regeneration energy - which the people of Christmas might not have even known about, and even if he'd shared his life story with them, he might've told them that he was on his last life - how would they ever know better?
That might just be me reading into it too much though.

    No, that could make sense.

I think Trenzalore was only one possible timeline. The Doctor never said his name, so Gallifrey never came back, so the Time War wasn't restarted. Therefore, the Trenzalore that we knew that was horrible and destroyed with all the graves and whatnot never happened.

Unpopular (maybe?) opinion, I thought this episode was horrible. I've been extremely displeased with everything after Asylum of the Daleks, of course, but this episode was incredibly rushed and the writing was poor. Far too many details were inconsistent with recent episodes (which has been a problem through S7). Most offensively, I think Matt Smith was robbed of a proper regeneration scene (and Peter Capaldi of an entrance).

imo, it's time for Moffat to step down. He's seriously lost his touch. The season has suffered immensely from having the 50th loom, clearly, but even still, that's not an excuse for lazy plotlines and rushed conclusions.

I didn't... hate the episode, per-say? But I was kinda displeased with everything except for like the last five minutes. From the point where Clara re-enters the TARDIS that last time on is really the best bit imo.

But yea Moffat reeeeeeeally needs to step down and focus on Sherlock. I wouldn't mind him writing more episodes or anything, but he's been getting progressively worse as showrunner.
