I believe Pan's Labyrinth is in the horror category, could be wrong though. Great movie.

I'm pretty much scared of anything. >> Especially anything that was originally Japanese, why is that?

Tho of the really great horror movies, I believe the element of sudden surprise kicks it up a notch. Also, if the music is scary you'll just end up holding your breath. Do I even have to mention oldschool Psyko for that one? *actually it was the 2nd murder that scared me the most, not the 1st - it was just "HOLY CRAP!!" o:*

Pan's Labyrinth is awesome, though it says it's a fantasy/thriller in the back of the cover on my copy. Still.... ech. o.o

The Shining, Manhunter, and Silence of the Lambs. Those three always freak me out for obvious reasons. All of the newer horror films are kind of predictable now.

Oh oh I just thought of one.

Battle Royale. Except it's more of a thriller, I'd say. Good movie, but the book is oviously 100000000 times better especially since it's over 600 pages worth of material. They did do a fantastic job for having to cram all of that into just one film, but there were some logic failures at times

i.e. when one of the kids gets an axe lodged in his forehead and he gets up and says he's okay before dying, or of course when the teacher gets up after being killed to answer his cell phone, hahaha. xD That last one was on purpose I'm sure, but still.

and a few times where I thought the acting could have been better or some stuff was overdramatic (although these actors did fantastic for the most part IMO). Oh, and the soundtrack is amazing. Whoever picked the classical pieces they used picked PERFECT ones.

I remember an old film, though I'm not sure if its actually Horror. I forget the title and everything, I just remember the story line.

It's based in the 1960s (from memory). There is a man and a woman and they are engaged or something. The girl leaves the man because she is literally fraked out by him, and he swears to find her (which she takes as a threat). It's been ten years since she's seen him. (She's moved cities, changed her name & other **** like that). One day when she's walking through town she remembers him and feels the presence of him once again. Freaked out about this, she races home and encloses herself in her home. Little does she know she's being stalked & the man has actually entered her home. She carries in groceries which she leaves on the kitchen table and goes to have a bath. The towels in the bathroom aren't on the rack yet. While having a shower the man hangs the towels on the racks. When she gets out she notices them but thinks nothing of them. When she enters the kitchen all the grocery bags have disappeared. She checks the cupboard and all the items she bought are in their places. Now she's freak out, she feels the presence of the man once again.

    ^^ That's all I can remember.

Candy Man, 13 Ghosts, Silent Hill ( if it counts ) , and The Brain that Wouldn't Die are some of my favorite horror films :D The Halloween movies are alright, too...The Ring is ok for horror, I like it more for it's plot though.

We're listing the greatest horror movies here, not the crappies.
I never did understand how some people are terrified by off-screen violence and predictable lack of suspense.

Ah yeah, Candy Man was cool too.

Halloween movies.. the first 2 were fine to me. After that it was just gore and rinse and repeat.

Saw.. have to say didn't scare me at all. It just seemed more like a fan gore barf show for multiple movies. I have no idea why people think Jigsaw is so cool, though I do laugh at the spoofs people do of him.

Another good scary movie was 'Mirrors' with Keifer Sutherland.

The Night of the Living Dead (1968) Watch it.
Peeping Tom makes me laugh while I cringe.
The Sixth Sense is pretty cool too.

The Saw movies are a joke. They aren't scary, just weird. IMO

In all honesty...horror movies do not scare me AT ALL. Takes the fun out of going to the dark theaters to watch the movies at night, but I do enjoy the contents and they never fail to amuse me, and if it's good enough, it'll have me talking about it for days.

In my opinion, Exorcist was one EPIC, EPIC movie. I was tense the entire time, just wondering what was going to happen next. Well, considering the year it was directed, it was pretty good.

After this one, I always thought Jeepers Creepers was pretty interesting too. Though it had me going, "wait...what?" a couple times, I did enjoy the tiny surprises. Then the next few Jeepers Creepers were just...****.

Jaws...classic. Just plain classic. I've nothing more to say. I was in love with that movie for a long, long time. So was Deep Blue Sea. It was well directed and pretty bloody. I love seeing lots of blood in Horror films.

If I list everything now, this will take forever...I'll be back later. xD
