For me, The Shining. Such a classic. Defines the formula of building up to a climax.

    Jaws. period.

Probably because I'm really afraid of sharks, so that movie is the scariest to me :sweatdrop:

Excorcist and Deep Blue Sea are TERRIBLE movies. Doesn't mean they don't scare the shi* outta me.

The Langoliers scared the everloving hell out of me. Possibly because I was 5 at the time and tended to exaggerate just how gruesome it was when giant flying balls of teeth ripped people apart, but nonetheless...
And The Ring, overused as it is, knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Jaws is really good. I somewhat think Jeepers Creepers can rise high up there too...

Since Horror movies have never frightened me I'll just go and choose my favorite.

The Evil Dead series is the greatest Horror movie ever and if you disagree then you're a huge a ****** >:l

The original Dawn of the Dead.
Zombies are amazing. And it's lolzy

But for more scary reasons, The Shining.

The Shining is indeed a classic, but as far as movies that weren't books first go I'd say Audition is one of my favourites though I wouldn't call it the best. It's a tough choice for me too.

The Exorcist was an amazing movie. :.-.:

Has anyone seen the original Psycho? Or The Birds? Those are pretty darn good ones. A Clockwork Orange is pretty good, I'm not sure if you could call it a horror movie, but it was pretty f*cked up. Not bad f*ucked up, but f*cked nonetheless.

    I have a few favorites.

    Exorcist
    Omen
    Hellraiser
    Phantasm
    Psycho
    Pet Cemetery
    Jaws
    Pumpkin Head
    The Shining
    The Stand

    Hard to choose between those.

Yep I have seen all of those. They are all great horror movies. They didn't scare me though. The only horror movie that ever scared me to this day besides Saw forgot which one....that demon doll Chucky. Stupid hollywood keeps on making it come back to life. I guess that is what i get for being forced to watch it at 5 year old.

Horror movies have never scared..except one.

Dead Silence scared the shit out of me.Mostly because I am terrified of porcelain dolls/puppets or anything like that that is alive and moving. I can't even see that movie for a minute because I get quickly scared and act like a pussy.

Im surprised that no one has heard of the sleepaway camp series here, has the most disgusting deaths ever that make you want to cry.
