hmmmm..I guess you make a strong point about posts

as well as sections, so I guess this would work out pretty well

@ Sofa: No. We were thinking about making all the requests and shops in to one big thread ( or sections). So that a person would ask for something, and then anyone who looked at it could. But if they wanted one specific person to do it, then they could PM the person. And posts count, so that if they dont rep you, you still get the post ~

    this is how it'll work:

Jimmy wants a sig. He goes into the thread called 'Signature Request Thread' and fills out the template. Bob says "I'm going to do a request!" Bob goes into the Signature Request thread and says "Oh look. Jimmy put up a sig request. I'm going to do it!" Bob completes Jimmy's request and posts it in the thread.

Let's say Jimmy hates Bob's style and wanted Jane to do it. Jimmy would PM Jane and she could do it for him.

And that is an example to prove that it might actually work

    *head explodes from confusion*

Nah, i think it's a good idea. Means people's request shouldn't get burried under all these shops.

I was going to be againt this, but then I read this:

What I meant is, not to be harsh or anything, be there's a lot of untalented sig makers out there.
And if random people do the requests and most of them turns out ****ty than I'd just go "wow" <_<

Anyway, I'm all for this now.
    It's a good idea.
And it just means less work for some people.

well yes, there are some bad sig makers, but if they don't like the sig they just pm a good sig maker.

I dunno this is getting confusing. I think the sig shops are good they way they are.

I agree with that. Making sections like that will be easier.

I have a suggestion...well two of them that could tie in with this one.

One is that you should have to provide some of your graphic examples to a moderator, or someone who knows a thing or two about graphics. This would prevent your average joe member from making a shop to pad their post count and making (pardon this) ****ty sigs based on templates or basically using the same graphic effect for 5+ sigs/avvys.

The second thing is the idea of 'classes'. Say they're basically levels. You can make a topic with a sig and add [class] somewhere in it if you want to be classed. More experienced designers can class from levels like beginner, intermediate, pro, etc. Then you can make a requirement of what classes are NOT allowed to make a shop. The more experienced designers can probably be higher classed designers, graphic mods, etc.

Both of those sound really biased. It's someone's fault if they go to someone who doesn't make very good sigs.

    Unfortunately, I highly disagree .___.

That will 'cause MUCH hysteria and confusion. People often make a sig without stating so, and other people do it, and it makes people feel bad because of how hard they [might have] worked.

I think we should just keep it to the "they make their own shop system", just because that way everyone can run their shop, their way.

Well then, if that doesnt work, then can we at least have all the requests in one thread??? It clutters up the whole section -.-

    Well, what do you expect?

People will make shop threads, and they will accumulate over time.

    xDDDD

I think Fox's idea is good. Signatures are already biased anyways since most people already have someone in mind when wantng a signature. That's why some shops thrive and and some get swept away. But if you dont like her idea, I guess you can just go with the one thread and them making their request using the template. But to solve the problem of having to PM a person when you dont like it, you can just tell them to specify whether they want a certain person to make it so they dont have to wait for tons of people to do the signature before getting a good one. Then once the person sees the request, they can tell the poster to edit the post to say that it's taken.

I think it may be confusing for people trying to get a tag if its in a thread, maybe a sub section of threads someone can post if they want a tag.

I'm against this (and I mean really against this one). I like all the shops, it lets me know who to go to, who has what skill, who can do what, who can't do what I want, etc. I notice alot of n00b shops and I avoid them if we just had a sticky where anyone could answer my request I may never be able to get a good damn sig...
