I don't think there's anything wrong with this statement. To me it's 50/50 Gameplay/Graphics. To him it's 60/40. No big deal.

Pacman. Now that's a good game.

But seriously, I find it visually satisfying when a game has amazing graphics but of course it isn't the be all and end all. For example, Myst (original) has terrible graphics but it's an amazing game because of gameplay and nostalgia! Better game than Myst 5 which had better graphics but just wasn't the same. I like visually pleasing things as they make my happy but it's not the only thing- I suppose to this person he just values graphics more than other things. I personally couldn't put a value on it because there are too many factors really O.o

I feel you, man. I'm currently trying to work my way up the ranks in the gaming industry myself.

I won't deny that I love having a game with amazing/jaw dropping graphics. Personally, I even prefer to play a game with such just because it feels more.....realistic? I guess you could say. However, I still enjoy the games with less graphic intent. To be honest, I would rather have a good story line to the game than the most amazing graphics out there.
Games like pac-man and such, those will always be fun to play. Good graphics or not. =)

Everyone has their own opinion I suppose.

I'm in Sound Design. You should try modding games first if you're unsure of what you want to do.

Cool beans. I tried learning how to write code before, but I just couldn't get into it.
