358/2 Days Got it memorized?

I love Axel and everything, he is top-notch cool. But he REALLY says "Got it memorized? " waaaaaaaaaaaaay to many times in Days.
Now, I've been playing a good amount of time today. And I have seen in the cutscenes, "Got it memorized?", then he says something again, followed by, "Got it memorized?"

Am I alone here?

Well it's better than the original translation, "Commit it to memory" or whatever.

 

That's why catchphrases are a terrible idea. Why do developpers still use them.

Because of the positive response and how well it stuck. So like with mostly everything, they had to over-do the hell out of it and just make it annoying.

 

They had to make sure you got his catchphrase memorized.

"dance water dance!" was used in 2 battles with demyx. in kingdom hearts, he doesn't really even speak in Days.

axel says "got it memorized?" every time you go on a mission with him,
every mission, and even on your frst mission with him, he says "GIM? like 20 times.
that's over done...

don't get me wrong, axel is a badace, but his catch phrase is overdone.

I think Axel uses his catchphrase more than in CoM and KH2, but, you can get used to it.

Well i feel this is your first real prolounged interaction with Axel, i mean you see him see him almost every other scene or so, so yah

 

Commit it to Memory is his japanese phrase. So it is replaced with got it memorized because it was more catchy, but it sounds fine to me.

 

It's because of the KH staff's love of Axel that caused him to say it so much. It kind of killed his character in my opinion after they over used the line. He seemed much better character wise in CoM.

 

Actually, if I remember correctly, Commit it to Memory was a translation of his japanese catchphrase, but Got It Memorized? is closer because in Japanese, it was past tense

 

Maybe it's because I'm a rabid Axel fangirl (*ducks tomatoes*), but I quite like his catchphrase. Yeah, he says it more than he does in either of the previous games where he appears, but face it, we see more of him in this one, so that's to be expected, I think

How could you, I bet if i came to you, dressed like Axel, and just kept REPEATING "GIM? GIM? GIM?" You'd hate they saying sooo much.
That's how I feel about the catchphrase.

In fact, GIM? was better in KH2 than DAYS by a longshot.

Yes he does. Just stop saying 'GIM?' all together.
I wonder is Lea said it too? Hrmm....

 

Yeah, I found it a little annoying. It gets tiring after a while, especially when Roxas and Xion start using variations of it.

Honestly though, I thought Xigbar was worse. I'm pretty sure he said "As if!" more than Axel said "Got it Memorized?" I was ready to shoot him with his own guns by the time I was halfway through the game.
