He wasn't trained and there was no certainty that the car was going to catch fire. If he caused her to become paraplegic then she had every right to sue him, and from what she said (about him "treating her like a rag doll") it is certainly plausible. Moral of the story is, if you are going to help someone help them right.
I can understand where the woman is coming from with the law suite but the woman fails to see from the woman who saved her's point of view.If she was left any longer the car could've gone up on fire and killed her slowly.A woman saved her and now she's repaying her kindness by possibly taking whatever that woman has, leaving her and her child on the street.I don't that that woman is paralysed because she would've died if it were not for that womans kindness.
My point exactly. The car may not have gone up in flames. The co-worker could have waited for a trained professional to arrive to do the job properly. This is all a case of what ifs, and as we all know what ifs are pointless as they can only work if we can be outside the current situation. This of course being impossible because this is the only way it happened.
Good point bunterx. That situation could've gone in all directions, it could've gotten way worse without her help or it could've been the worst thing that she did help.
This isn't something new. In this case it sounds like the plaintiff may have a legitimate case on her hands, but it's not unheard of for a person who has been injured to turn around and sue the Samaritan who helped them EVEN IF THEY ACTUALLY SAVED THEIR LIFE. In some European countries this kind of thing is happening on a daily basis, and yes, it is commonly employed as a ****ing despicable way to help pay off medical bills.
It is a sad thing that people think they can get more money from someone who actually is out to save their lives. It's to be expected though that some people would go ahead and try to get money any way they can. I'd still have to say I'd help someone in trouble but if I was going to get sued, I would definitely counter-sue the idiot because of hardship and defamation of character and whatever else I could toss in, just to be as much an a-hole as possible. Anyone who is taken to court and gets off from the charges should do such. Totally.
