Gods of the Deep Greek

Maybe I'm finally in the clear. Allen thought as he continued to make his way to the empire state building. He began to think there were no more monsters around him, which was until he turned his head and saw Cyclops. He would've tried to run past it if it wasn't for the fact it hadn't noticed him, in fact it was heading towards a girl. Great, just great. He tried to remember what he had heard about Cyclopes. Other than the fact that they have great strength, they only have one eye, in other words, without it they wouldn't be able to see what their trying to get. Picking up a nearby rock, he walked toward the Cyclops trying to avoid attracting attention to him. Completely, unaware that there was another Cyclops.

 

Hana ran up to the girl and smiled. "Hi, my name's Hana," she said. "So you can see Ugly here too? That's good to know... I thought I was going crazy." She looked up at the nearest Cyclops and frowned. "I'm uh, not really sure how to take these guys on, but I figured, hey, it's not every day you get to meet giant one-eyed monsters that want to eat you." Hana glanced behind her. The other monster was coming up fast, but he had changed his target again. Now he was trying to sneak up on some boy. Wait a minute... He's carrying a rock. AND he can see our Cyclops! That means that this monster must be after him, too! "Look out, Dude!" she called to the boy. "Behind you!" Then she turned back to the girl and the other Cyclops. "I know we just met and all," she said. "But we need to get out of here now." She grabbed the girls hand and looked around for a good place to hide. "Any suggestions?"

ammeritta nodded at drake.
"all right. from what i saw above, it looked like there were a few demigods heading towards olympus. i don't know if they know olympus is there, but that seemed to be the direction they were headed for. send chiron an iris message. have him send some satyrs out here. we need to get these other demigods to safety, and there is only one place truly safe for them."
she had her game face back on and turned to head back towards the empire state building.

raiden tucked the ambrosia into his pocket and then reached into the backpack. he pulled out a grilled cheese sandwich and handed it to teal.
"sorry, it's all i have. they're ammeritta's favorite, so i keep them on hand."
he closed the bag back up.
"i'm not really sure how many people are out there needing our help, but as long as they need help we need to be there. take a couple minutes, once you feel ready to move we'll go."

 

„H-hi.†she said, still surprised. “I’m Sylvia.â€
So she don’t know how to fight them too. she thought. Even though, she was glad, that there was someone else, who was able to see the monsters just like her.
“True enough.†she said, when girl noticed how unusually was their situation.
She also saw the boy. So there was more people like her. It was a little bit comforting. But now was not the time for this. Hana was right. If they didn’t know how to fight, they should escape together from the danger.
“Actually, I’ve got no idea, but…†she answered girl’s question. “The closer we are to the Empire State Building, the more monsters and people like us are appearing, right?†she asked rhetorical question. “So maybe we should try to get there quickly? Maybe we find answers there or at least someone who know how to fight them?â€

 

Noticing multiple beasts around him; some familiar to him, and some not, Michael pulled his dagger from a small sheath at his side, "Better to be safe than sorry..." he muttered to himself. Taking small steps, ducking into random alleyways or behind various cars or trashcans to take cover and scan the field. "It seems...Oddly quiet on my end..." as the words left his mouth, a dark shape seemed to materialize from the air in front of him, tackling at him with amazing speed. The weight of the creature knocked him to the ground, landing on his back, the air was knocked clear out of him, with a loud "Oomph!", his head slamming against the sidewalk. ​

A large black mass of a Hellhound pressed its paws down on Michael's chest, it's red eyes glaring at him. The eyes pierced into his very soul, his dagger sliding across the sidewalk into the street, knocked away from the impact.​

Drake walked ahead of his half sister "you go ahead and contact him. I will go kill some beasts until reinforcements arrive" Drake said gripping his blade and running off. His destination was clear, to head to the empire state building. Something was drawing demigods towards there and at the same time creatures were drawn to the demigods

 

Taron strode past the "Leaving San Diego" sign, whistling to himself. He tapped a finger on the back of the large billboard, beaming to himself. He was walking, just walking. Didn't know his destination, but he was expecting something. He just hoped to himself- wished that he would find someone.

Wait... were those footsteps? He spun around, peering back to the sign. Footprints. They weren't human, that was for sure. Taron slipped the lighter out of his pocket and crept towards the prints. He got to his knees and stroked the dirt with his empty hand. "Is it..." he murmured under his breath. And then, in the blink of an eye, there was something on his back. The lighter tumbled out of his hand and flew into the dirt under the sign.

Taron flipped around on the ground, pushing a Hellhound off of him. "Damn it," He yelled, getting to his feet and racing towards the lighter. The beast was on his tail, its mighty feet slamming the ground behind him. Taron dove beneath the sign, throwing his hand to the side and snagging the lighter. He looked back at the beast and smirked. "Now it's on, puppy," he said, flicking on the flame of the lighter. It spread and transformed into a long hammer, the metal sparkling in the fading light.

He ran forward and swung the hammer, crashing into the head of the Hellhound. The monster tumbled to the side, lifting up a rain of dust. Taron coughed and wiped his eyes, but the Hellhound had already gotten to its feet. Taron re-entered his fighting stance and swung the hammer again, missing the beast's head by an inch. He swore as it jumped onto his chest, its fangs inches away from his face. He kicked up with his right foot, shocking the Hellhound and giving Taron a chance to roll to the side. He hopped back to his feet, raising the hammer above his head. "It's been fun while it lasted," he said with a laugh, bringing the hammer down and into the Hound's face.

He turned on his heel and continued on his path, wiping the blood of his face. He really needed a cigarette.

The pack of Hellhounds behind the sign growled. This fool would die soon.

 

Samson felt like he had been walking for hours. His legs were aching and he felt he couldn't stand anymore, but the demigod continued down the highway. 'How far is it to the next town?' he thought. His vision was becoming blurry, and he felt weak all over. The teen had gone almost a full day without food or any nutrition for that matter, which made him drowsy and light-headed. He managed to read a sign that read, 'Now Entering San Diego'. A faint smile grew on Samson's face as he said, "I-I made it."

Samson peered ahead of him, seeing another person around his age. "Is... is that another demigod?" he murmured to himself. He saw the demigod smash a Hellhound with a hammer, and he watched in awe. Samson quickly spun around to see a Hellhound charging at him. Thankfully, he had heard the loud creature's footsteps. The teen had just enough strength to pull out his bow and shoot an arrow into the demonic creature's forehead. The Hellhound collapsed in front of him as its body turned to ashes.

Unfortunately, Samson soon collapsed himself. His eyes slowly closed as he fell to the ground. "H-help...." he said faintly.

 

As Allen contiued to make his way towards the girls, he noticed that one of them was trying to warn him. It was when he stopped to see what was behind him that he saw the looming shadow in front of him. Turning slowly he saw the Cyclops trying to sneak up on him. Not wasting any time, hethrew the rock at the monster's eye. Causing his eye to water, allowing Allen get some more distance between them. Once he got to the girls he said. "Thanks for the warning. SO, any ideas on how to get rid of them?"

 

"Yeah, that's a good idea." Hana said to Sylvia. Then Allen threw his rock at the other Cyclops and ran towards them. "Thanks for the warning." He said. "SO, any ideas on how to get rid of them?" Hana shrugged her shoulders. "Naw, I'm not even really sure what they are. But we're gonna head to the Empire State Building." Hana nodded over to Sylvia. "For some reason, the closer we get to the building, the more we meet other people like us. You know, that can see these monsters. By the way, my name's Hana, and this is Sylvia."

 

ammeritta hurried off to the central park zoo, which was only a couple blocks away. she needed water in order to send an iris message. when she reached the fountain at the zoo, she tossed a golden drachma in.
"oh iris, goddess of message, please take this offering and connect me to chiron at camp halfblood."
after a moment the centaur came into view. his horse have was that of a white stallion. it took him a moment to realize there was an iris message, but once he noticed, ammeritta was his focus.
"what is it my dear?" "demigods, maybe a half dozen. i need a group of satyrs to come collect them for camp. we're at olympus. none of them have fully made it here, but it looks like they are headed in this direction." "do they know that is olympus?" "i have know idea, but there are cyclops and hellhounds everywhere. we need to get them out of here as soon as possible." "all right. i'll have an extraction team ready as soon as possible. i'll ask a few of the campers if they want to go with and help."
ammeritta nodded and ran back towards the state building. she could see drake in the distance and off down a different street, three demigods and two cyclops. there was another cyclops way off in the distance. she wasn't sure if it would be a good choice to head towards the one lonely cyclops, but she had a feeling she was needed over there. she headed down the streets toward the cyclops that was by itself. as she got closer, ammeritta could see a boy lying on the ground.
oh no!

 

Drake continued to proceed to the empire state building trying his best despite his wounds. As he ran he noticed a pair of cyclops and three teens that seemed to be the target of them. Noticing one of the cyclops was blinded, the other one began to close in on the group. Pushing his body Drake ran as fast as he could and drew his sword. Putting all his strength into one blow Drake shoved the blade through the cyclops' back

 

"Whoa!" The Cyclops fell with a thud and Hana saw a man, this one much older than Allen or herself. He was holding a huge sword and it was obvious that he had taken out the Cyclops without it even seeing him. The beast dissolved into powder and Hana breathed a sigh of relief. "Thanks," she said to the man. "That was awesome!" She looked around at the crowd. There didn't seem to be any more monsters heading straight for them. They were safe, for the moment. She turned back to the group. "So... does anybody know why these things are attacking us? 'Cause I sure don't know."

Ella had reached the lake and stood along the bank, breathing in the night air. The moon shone on the waters, glimmering white on the deep blue. Ella smiled. She loved the color of the night sky, especially reflected on water. Still feeling restless, she began to walk along the creek towards the rest of the camp. On one side of the creek stood the arena, the armory and the stables, while on the other, there was the arts-and-crafts building, the volleyball courts, and the big house. She could see that there was a light on in the big house. I wonder what's happening... She began to quicken her pace.

 

Staring into the face of certain death, Michael began to panic a bit, with nothing to defend himself with.
"Gaaah!" he growled noticing his legs were free, in one quick motion, pulled his legs up to his waist, directly under the Hellhound, releasing them on its underside, kicking it aside, he stumbled to his feet, noticing a bit of blood on the sidewalk. With no time to decipher where exactly it was coming from, ran to retrieve his blade.
"Ggrrr..." the hellhound appeared on the other side of his dagger, practically daring him to make a grab for it.
Or...It wasn't the same hellhound...
Another growl escaped the curled lips of the first hellhound, stalking Michael from behind.
"Tch... This could be a probl- Gwah!" a Cyclopes, as if from nowhere, blindsided Michael with a large tackle, tearing him down from his defensive position.
Slamming against a wall, he lie on his side, his head taking another blow to the head, it banging against the wall, then the ground after the other.
Stars flashing across his eyes, his vision getting fuzzy, thought of everything he'd be losing with a final strike to his life. Nothing more to live for...I believe...Time's up for me...Heh..., he thought, realizing that without some kind of miracle, he'd be dead soon.

 

ammeritta reached the boy lying on the street. she was quick with her daggers but decided to pull a sword out of her bag instead. she swung at the hellhound closest. it turned into a pile of dust as soon as the blade pierced it. the same thing happened with the other hellhound and when it came to the cyclops, ammeritta pulled her daggers back out. she jumped off a dumpster towards the cyclops face. it swung at her, but all of her knowledge on battle strategies allowed her to dodge his fists. she stabbed one of the daggers in it's eye. the cyclops let out a scream. with it blinded and distracted she plunged her dagger into its chest. it was a stab that would be fatal to any mortal and it was to the cyclops as well. it turned into a pile of dust. she collected her daggers and then pulled out a small vial of nectar.
"hey there? it's okay. the monsters are gone and i'm going to heal you. open your mouth for me."
ammeritta gently turned him over and pulled his jaw down so that she could pour the nectar in it.
"this will fix you right up."
when the bottle was about half gone she closed it and stuck it back in the bag.

chiron gathered up about six satyrs and saw elle coming towards the big house. he walked outside to greet her.
"elle, perfect timing. would you like to go on a mission? ammeritta needs some helping bringing a group of demigods to camp."

 

I wonder what would've happened if none of this happ- Michael's thoughts of self-pity were quickly interrupted by the cries of diminishing hounds, along with the cry of a defeated cyclopes. His vision still fuzzy, could make out the shape of a girl.
Her hand reached down into something he couldn't make out, approaching him, he heard her say, "Hey there? It's okay. The monsters are gone, and I'm going to heal you. Open your mouth for me.", the vision started going dark, "This will fix you right up.".
He felt her hands pull him over, onto his back. She pulled his jaw down, pouring some form of liquid down his throat. It tasted...Sweet...And bitter. It reminded him of his mother's failed attempts at making sweets for him years ago.
He could feel a long gash on his leg - the attack from the first hellhound - being healed, fading to a white scar. The bruises and such from his multiple other attacks began to fade, until he was clear of damage.
He began to try to sit up, his eye sight regaining.
"I...Could've made it..." he muttered, staring into the girl's eyes. He smiled a bit, as if what he said was a joke.

 

Ella stopped and looked down at herself. She was still in her PJ's. "Yes, I'll go," she said. "But I have to run back to the cabin and change first. I won't be long." With that, she turned and ran back to her cabin. Once inside, she changed quickly and quietly into a pair of jeans and an orange camp t-shirt, then she pulled her hair back into a ponytail and slipped her feet into her comfy white running shoes. She also grabbed her emergency backpack from under her bunk. She always kept it well stocked with three water-bottles, a box of fruit-and-granola bars, a small sum of American currency, a change of clothes, a rope, and a flashlight. She also grabbed a small silver ring with a sapphire in the center and slipped it on her finger. Now ready, she ran back to the big house where Chiron and the other satyrs were waiting. "Ready," she said. So her dreams had once again awoken her for a good reason.

 

ammeritta smiled gently at the boy.
"i'm sure you could."
she held a hand out for him to help him up.
"come with me, but don't get up too quickly. even though your wounds are healed, your body is going to be just as weak. it'll need resting, which is just what you're going to get."
ammeritta pulled out a special whistle with her other hand and blew into it.

chiron nodded to acknowledge elle's reappearance.
"your destination is olympus. there is a gathering at the empire state building. elle, you should go down to the stables and gather a couple pegasi and a chariot. being a daughter of apollo, chariot driving should come quite naturally. as i'm sure you already know. the satyrs will meet you there. go quickly and be safe."

 

Michael grabbed the girl's hand, stumbling to his feet with her help. She suddenly pulled out a whistle
A whistle? What good is that going to do...? he thought, as she suddenly blew on the mouth of it.
When she was finished, he simply looked at her, "...Well...Was that supposed to...Do something...?"

ammeritta's smile grew so wide she could barely contain it.
"just wait. you'll see."
after a moment it grew dark above them. the figure of a pegasus came into view. vester landed next to her and she stroked his neck and scratched behind his ear.
"this is vester. he's my pegasus."
she climbed onto his back and held out her hand for him to climb on behind her.
"hop on!"
