Well then I guess God's and Jesus' attempts to convince you to be a good Christian and love your fellow man regardless of his sins has failed.

ON TOPIC: I'd say Hitler wouldn't go to heaven.

Disliking someone for a forum topic? Intriguing. It's too bad you did not grace everyone with an answer to the question instead of just posting a negative response at the person.

if there is a god who sends people like gandhi to hell for not believing and hitler to heaven for believing, then i would prefer to go to hell. i dont see the "purity" or "goodness" in a person who believes and does not sin because doing so will keep him or her out of hell and in heaven. now, the person who regardless of beliefs does good, cares for people, and lives a mostly moral life (though i guess that could lead to questions of "what is moral and immoral?"), that is the person who deserves heaven.

now this is all supposing that god, heaven, and hell exist... and personally i dont believe in any of them.

to repeat what was previously said in this thread, enjoy living. if you NEED an answer, then be content with "there was an origin and there will be an end" and then just live your life the best you can.

The church lately has been given off an uncomfortable atmostsphere, with the priest telling all of us that it's wrong to celebrate Santa, and not Jesus.
I've been thinking about my faith alot lately, as I'm not sure I really believe there is a god really, anymore. Everytime I've been going into that church, I've been getting the feeling that I'm in a "cult". :S
And the fact that grandma keeps telling me "you belong to Jesus" ain't helping my uncomfortableness, if that's even a word. XDDDD

I have to agree with this. Even though I'm far from Christian, I still want to debate.

First off, I don't believe in any "God". (I know I've mentioned this before in other posts, but bear with me here....) Nothing the Bible says or what ministers say makes any sense to me. Through time I have learned by the scientific way, which seems much more possible than the religious other. I have never gone to a church, I have never bothered wasting a part of my life flipping through the Bible's pages, and I always end up rolling my eyes when some Bible-freak warns me that I'm off to Hell for worshiping Harry Potter.

To the point: Do I believe in Heaven, Hell or "God"? Answers no.

According to the Bible/people/whatever, if you don't believe in God, you're off to Hell. Do I really care? Answer's no again. But isn't if you're bad like Hitler and such you go to Hell? I could imagine that not believing in "God" will send you a first class ticket the moment you think 'That **** is so not real'.

I have wanted proof of some type of god-like being. All I can find is wacky people on eBay claiming that they "found Jesus in a piece of bread". That doesn't prove anything, it just shows that people have active imaginations. But as Mirai said, going to Hell for wanting proof? I highly doubt "God" is super dooper caring if he sends someone to Hell for questioning his "existence".

So...to kinda get back to the point of the thread via the title....: I'm so off to Hell. 8D

According to the bible, every person of a different religion, no matter how good-natured they are, some better than people who follow the bible, burn in hell.

The funny thing is, telling somebody of a different religion that they will burn in hell simply for practicing the religion doesn't bother them. People do this all the time. They tell me I'm going to hell because of my religious beliefs.

But, based on what I believe, hell doesn't exist. So that doesn't affect me at all.

I agree with Hidden LOTUS. There is no proof that god or any supernatural being for that matter is real at all, so all I'm left to believe is that religion is nothing but an excuse to explain how things work left over from ancient times even though it doesn't make sense anymore becuase we have science to prove it wrong.

So frankly, I don't really care if I'm going to "burn in hell", becuase I don't even believe that there is a hell at all.

Umm, well of course Hitlar should go to hell. Really, he was part jewish, but he figured that out right before he killed himself. Okay, the bible says that if you commit a sin, and don't ask forgivnes, you go to hell. He murdered thousands of jews, plus he did sucide, which appartnly is an instant ticket to hell. So either way, Hitlar would go to hell anyway. And of course Mahatma Gandhi would go to heaven, because I have heard when you are dying, god will ask you if you believe in his son, Jesus, and if you say yes, you will go to heaven. If you say no, you go to hell. And geuss what? Hitlar killed JEWS JESUS WAS A JEW!!! So it would very dishonoring to Jesus in a way if you think about it.

Please don't, all I said is that's what I heard, but yes I sort of do believe that is what will happen.

If that was how it worked all Hitler would have to say: 'Ja, I believe in Jesus, the Song of God with all of mein being' and Hitler would go to Heaven.

And Hitler was already dieing before he committed suicide. He had advanced syphilis in his brain which is fatal either way.

And would it be better if Jesus had been killed by the Romans? People don't seem to harp on that fact any.

I also find it interesting that after doing so, nearly half a century later the Romans made Christianity their official religion after persecuting it for so many years. With that in mind, and by naruto0389's logic the foundations of the Christian faith are more or less hypocritical.

Honestly, the concept of an afterlife has gotten so long winded and universal that either no one is right or everyone is practically worshiping the same god. It can't be both.

    And a dead-end post FTEL.

This is Intelligent Discussion, not the Spam Zone. Posts like this add nothing to the Discussion at hand. Also it is the debate corner so please either add in a new viewpoint or explain why you agree with Repliku's statement.

Okay sorry. What I mean is that is how the puritans treated people about religion back then so it would not be good if they did that now. Any better?

Ghandi didn't have a Religion, he didn't believe in Jesus or follow Christianity. The majority of the planet's population is not Christian, so by Christian standards they are all going to Hell, including people like Ghandi or anyone that doesn't accept Jesus Christ.

even if at the end of your life, you truly realize you were wrong and ask forgiveness, it doesnt matter what you have done in the past.

    Agreed with Xendran.

God doesn't just sit there and say: "You don't believe me, burn in hell." The Christianity I think puts it in the extremes sometimes. But basically, at the end, and this is what I got from my mom, if you honestly ask god for forgiveness he will grant it. Whether or not you end up in heaven, who knows...

But if you ask, he will give it to you. And many people don't believe in God, does it make them wrong? No...

Does it make them satanic? No...

If you actually read the bible, and think about it, beyond what they give you... You should be able to realize what God truly says in it. I never read it myself, but my mom who has read it taught me a lot from it.

Unfortunately a great deal of churches don't listen or, for that matter, communicate much of the modern aspects that theologians are trying to integrate into Christianity's dynamic structure. They acknowledge that some change is needed in order to put an end to some of its self-contradictories. The rigid, traditionalists out number them though so the wrong message is still sent.
