I'm not atheist to the extreme. I'm actually in the nice spectrum of atheists! Sorry, for the "invisible man in the sky" crack. I was frustrate at the time.

I may not believe in God, but what is God? If God is the emodiement of all things good and love, then am I really against Him? I may reject His fundamental existence, but I try my best to do His works.

Also, isn't believing in God JUST to get into Heaven a little selfish? I mean, if I'm going to believe something, I'm going to believe it because there's proof, not because I'll burn if I don't.

God is our creator, our Father and our savior. Rejecting His existence is a bit like rejecting your very own biological father's existence.

And yes, I know you do His works. Which is why I said our deeds are most likely put into consideration when we face Judgement, not just belief.

Who the hell said we believed in God just to go to Heaven? :/

Well Mirai, here's the only solution I can give you to get your proof: get into contact SPIRITUALLY. The Bible's the only first-degree material proof you'll get, but then again you don't even believe in that since it's 'man-made'.

I personally just grew up believing in God because of my family. Yes, I like to feel and believe there is always someone watching over me. Yes, I like to feel and believe there is always a light who gives me hope. Yes, I like to believe that I DO have a Father in replacement of the real one I was sort of missing. AND YES, I believe God planned our future and that everything happens for a reason.

Christianity is a religion, not a spirituality. Spirituality is felt in ANY religion or group that can come together and be positive and feel the energy flowing whether they care to have an explanation for it or not. You can be atheist and feel that power. Just because people don't want to call it God's power, because Christians try to force and absorb everyone else's cultures, doesn't mean we don't have spirituality. Spirituality existed long before Christianity. Spirituality is opening yourself to take in that energy, feel it, and understand it within. It is not about your God and religion that is dogmatic. You can't steal that word from everyone else. Sorry.

Remember God is just :-) Don't worry.

Only you can truly know, if you died today, which side you would end up being on.

I wont give my own religious take on this - so as not to offend. I mean people get soooooo offended by Christians it's unbelievable. But let me tell you one thing, those who are 'right with God', don't even have to talk of these things - they have no fear of Hell. Nor anything on Earth: nothing is stronger than the bond between man and God and no power on Earth can ever destroy it. Everything around you belongs to the Earth, and will one day turn to dust as it originally was (yes, sadly even KH o_O and no one is more upset at that prospect than me) but God and what's inside of you are forever.

And as for those who are atheist (inc. spiritual and non-spiritual), well I guess they have it good because they can think what they like. So everyone's a winner ^_^

Ooo this is so cool lol I never even realised there was like an ethical section here!

Lol you're making false accusations. :/ I never once said you atheists didn't HAVE spirituality - I was only telling Mirai that the only way he could get proof for himself of God's existence is to feel his presence/get into contact with Him spiritually. I was using the terminology as a way to get into contact.

I don't know how you got the impression I was 'stealing' that word and revolving around my religion. Jeez.

I've had a tendency to play Devil's Advocate way too often lately.

Hitler is most known for ordering the death of group of people for their religious beliefs, true. The Nazis believed that the Jewish people had caused them to lose the first World War.

But if it weren't for Hitler coming to power when he did, there may not be a Germany today. Germany could have been lost on the map forever. Hitler pulled the country out of a Depression similar to the one the US had in the '20s.

Sure he wasn't the nicest leader but he was a figurehead to rally behind.

Now that that's out of the way...

I do not believe in a central all knowing, infallible God up in the sky watching my every move. The Christian religion requires you to submit yourself body and soul to this God and I could never live with myself if I did such a thing over words of a book written by men.

As for weather there is a heaven or a hell that would be a different thing. Maybe there is something beyond death.

One day a man got up and went around talking about how good life would be if we were just a little bit nicer to one another. How hard is it to return to something like?

Because some people are self-serving, are too questioning, are too predictable in their unpredicatability. Peace is catagorized as something that is controlled and a unified effort, chaos is the exact opposite.

Anyway, I wish we could go back to that time as well. When people did nice things for the betterment of the world and such.

Worse comes to worse, at least I'll have people I have something in common with to talk to.

Jeez...I'm also not an atheist. I'm Zen Buddhist. =:) Everyone who doesn't believe in God is not an atheist.

Uh, do you think I'm some psychic? How the hell was I supposed to know you were Zen Buddhist. :/ And stop taking me for an ignorant believer - I'm well aware there are OTHER religions outside chrisitianity along with those who don't even believe in any.

I didn't say you were an ignorant believer. Don't assume I did please. I posted the issue I had with your post. I don't have an issue with you. If you have one with me, oh well.

That is what was not right. Telling someone to get in contact 'spiritually'. How do you know he hasn't? That's a pretty rough allegation there and the solution is the bible for you. If he's atheist, it's not going to be for him. And yes, the bible is man-made, though people will say it is divinely inspired. As I expressed above, religion is a doctrine, a guideline, and all the rules and answers are there. Spirituality is opening yourself up to what is out there and experiencing it deeply, meaningfully, even if there are no words to express it, and can happen alone or with others, through philosophy, religious festivities, science and discovery, etc. That is why I said what I did and you seem very harsh and super defensive because it was pointed out. The bible is your way of looking for that spiritual feeling. It isn't the end all be all, and certainly wasn't the first way.

Sorry. It was the post you wrote that made me think so. Anyone who isn't aware of other beliefs save their own along with atheism is incredibly ignorant imo. That's just silly.

I never said I knew - it was a suggestion. Contact spiritually with him by means of praying to God up in heaven. I guess it was silly of my part to leave this out. With or without a Bible, this can be done.

That's why I wrote 'man-made' in speech-marks. Yes, it was written by man but like you said, divinely inspired. Now you tell me if Mirai will buy that divine sh!it and will not most likely counter with something along the lines of, "Man could've just made that up! D:"

No. I was defensive on the fact that you accused me of using 'Spirituality' as a term and a way solely belonging to my religion (which is not the case), making it look like I didn't know there are other means of it.

I said what I did because you told him that above. The bible's the ONLY first-degree proof you'll get. And you made it sound like he has no touch with himself or that around him. Had you said SPIRITUALITY and then added something other than the bible as examples, such as I did, well, it wouldn't seem so narrow minded. If you didn't mean it so simplemindedly, you have my apology. However, do you see what I mean? You gave him one resource and that is that, and in the Bible it pretty well states that if you don't believe you go to Hell, and someone who does believe, whether misguided or not, they can be saved.

However, I give you the point that Christians do not all just do things to go to Heaven but there are some who do, and they pass this God-fearing belief onto their children and use it to inspire kids to go out and bully and tease and tell others they are going to Hell for different beliefs. It says it in the Bible, not merely just in the 10 Commandments, but all through it. Given, some groups of Christians also go off of the mercy of Jesus and how he forgave people for things, but he even said things against disbelievers. This is the problem.

So in the end, it still leaves the true question that was asked at the beginning: Does Ghandi go to Heaven or Hell? Does Hitler go to Heaven or Hell? Why would either go to either place? Can we really judge this any way? I don't see how we know by just having a book to analyze that even Christians cannot seem to all agree on.

...Wait wait, examples of what? Of God's existence?

I'm not sure what we're even talking about here - when I said that, I was trying to list suggestions of getting proof of God's existence, since he asked. Existence! If you had other examples I missed them - reiterate, please.

Now I wasn't judging Mirai of anything - far from my intention. I was only just listing stuff. Like I said before, "I was only telling Mirai that the only way he could get proof for himself of God's existence is to feel his presence/get into contact with Him spiritually. I was using the terminology as a way to get into contact." If you know of other ways, by all means list! This is through my own personal knowledge. Anyway I'm just going to accept the apology since I think the whole thing was a misinterpretation, from my part as well.

I'm very aware of that problem - that problem where other Christians try to force non-believers to eat their sh!t. Honestly I find a lot of their issues extreme - like homosexuality, the story about the veteran, and even that redundant excuse to attempt to sue Sony over a video game. It's sickening to say the least - that's why I always do my deeds out of my own good will, and at the while, thinking of what will be best for us to live in Peace and Love, which is what God wants anyway. So it never really made sense to me to see Christians create tension and hate. Call me a liberal christian.

That's what I said before - in the other thread that got wiped out. I do not know for a fact if Hitler is in Heaven. And if you want my honest opinion, it would be ******ed if he was. I seriously think our deeds are put into consideration, I don't like to think that it's based just on belief.

I'd prefer to say, people who don't believe in God are 'at risk', but if their deeds and well-being are good enough, they can enter his Kingdom.

Yeah, sadly some of our past messages were deleted, but at least now we are on a new server. People missed out on some good rants, I tell ya! Okay, maybe not. I understand what you meant more now and yeah, I think we fell victim to miscommunication. At least we both talked it out and for that, I thank you. Though our views may differ, you stuck it out, so thanks. =:)

That would be a respectable christian 8D.

But yes, I agree with you (well I think a lot of people would actually) about that issue. Makes you wonder what even got people to act like that in the first place (crusading/converting and all) and share a similar sort of dislike for those who think that heaven is some sort of country club where only *insert name of the respective relgious believer* get to go regardless of their previous behavior.

How is this on topic? You obviously did not read the post if you are not even going to bother reading and responding to what you quoted. :\

They simply read what was stated in the Bible and made a statement about interpreting it.

Please read refer to the sticky for this forum if you do not understand the meaning of this reprimand.

On Topic: (REPEAT!) Personally the latter should suffer the eternal punishment (if it exists) regardless of whatever any religion states.
