God is Punishing Us

I'm a christian, but yeah, apparntly we believe whatever the bible tells us. Srry god. I made a joke about god, but its bad. I prayed to god, but they put me on hold. I prayed again, and they made me talk to Jesus o_O

 

God may be mad at us for not really being nice to nature the way that god had intended in the first place. For instance, we are clearly destroying all of the lush green forests that god had provided for us so that we may have personal gain and home. Then we are abusing all of the animals that we consider pets, such as our dogs and cats are being abused badly.

So it may be a matter of time before the world ends but god will punish us some way or the other one of these days.​

 

Well if we're getting religious, it's probably because of all the blatant sin and disregard for his commandments. We're doing everything He specifically told us not to do. But we're lucky we don't live in the times before Jesus's death, or we'd be getting PWNED. Like tidal waves and great fires and earthquakes and crap.

Anyways, this place is called "Intelligent Discussion". Which means discussing things intelligently. Not "LOL guess wut Im atheist n gods not real, u guys r nubs" If you don't believe in God, don't bother coming to this thread, since that's what its about.

 

I dont blame god he should be mad at us i mean were taking god out of everything and thats not right changing god is changing freedom there is no freedom without god.

Oh and whats wrong with the golden compass? i never saw the movie whats bad about it?

 

So you are saying that only theists can post in this thread? That is blatent discrimination. Those who disbelief have as much to add to this debate as those that do.

 

Wow, Marlu[XI]a, that's probably the most idiotic thing I've ever read. Hey, sometimes atheists get on my nerves, too. But that doesn't mean they can't post. Quite the contrary, they should explain why they have no faith.

Another thing: To say that God loving us and punishing us at the same time is a paradox, really doesn't make sense, because he doesn't think the same way we do.

 

I'm sorry. Long story somewhat short, I've been an atheist raised by christains,and I've just been frustrated lately at keeping it secret from my family for so long. Took it out on the internet. :D

Wrong. You have every right to post here. The question affects us all whether we believe in God or not. People -do- say that God is punishing us and if you are of any faith or no faith at all, you have an opinion which you posted with your stance. Do not regret your post because of one person picking on it saying you should not post here. Stand by it, but give evidence to support why you feel as you do. This is a debate section and people are meant to post, debate it out and think on things, expand our minds etc. Also, whether you are Atheist or not, you yourself said you come from a Christian background so you know the deal of what is being said. Pretty much anyone should feel welcome to comment on this who has heard some Christians say that God punishes us all because we get exposed to it and so all voices matter, whether the subject is agreed on or torn apart, etc. Stick to your guns. =:)

 

i feel for ya kaseykockroach being raised by christians and not being one your self must have been tough but it makes me happy that people can think on there own and not belive something that everybody eles does and dont be ashamed of what you write your opinion is as valled as everyone eles's

 

Dude, don't hide your beliefs. Your parents may not like it, but that doesn't matter as long as you believe what you say you believe.

 

After the whole Arc thing, it says in the bible that God would never punish his children again. Unless the bible is a lier, I doubt it.

I see it more as if humanity's time here is soon going to end.

 

I'm somewhere in between atheist and agnostic, so I don't believe that "god" is punishing us.

my thoughts on the matter are that if "god", Iehova, Jehova or whatever he she or it is called ever did exist then "god" washed his hands of us long ago.

I remember somewhere that after the garden of Eden he said something like "you aren't ready" or something like that, which could be I wash my hands of you, you are banished, unredeemable etc. etc.

my point is there are specific reasons and evidence that state whether "god" is punishing us or even existed, and to me it just seems that "god" is man's ideal image therefor "god" appears to be a theoretical piece of humanity, so as they say "was god created by humanity as something to believe in? or was humanity created by god as most think"

I think...if God was TRULY angry with us...he'd strike us down and start over.
WE cause shootings, WE caused global warming with pollution.
The bible says that God will show his wrath on judgement day with the plagues and stuff. Until then, our pain is entirely our own fault.

 

Well considering that free will and lack of foresight is often a result of much the "bad" in our world, it's not so much we as a select few and not truly knowing any better.

 

I wondered that too even though I'm close to be a Christian. I still haven't accepted him and now I always think why the world is going through this trouble and sadness. I would simetimes curse at him and then would take it back later on. I don't know the results yet, but I'll find out once I have info around me.

 

It's a paradox really. If you believe in God in most religions, he's the quintessence of benevolence and wouldn't punish humans in such a way. And if you don't believe in God, well this wouldn't be relevant to you anyway.

 

God does what god wants, cause he's GOD.
