I am a Christian and I have a stong belief that God is real. The Big Bang theories are theories I do not believe. So yes, I do believe he is real.

So, the fact that our telescopes can "see" back in time about 12 billion+ years means nothing to you? The fact that we can "see" the radiation left by a big explosion means nothing to you? If you want to believe that He started the Big Bang, fine, but IMO, it's nonsense to say it didn't happen.

Why do you believe he is real, and why don't you believe in the big bang?
The big bang might be a theory, but there is more proof that a big bang happened, than there is of there being a God/s.

Something I don't understand about the big bang theory....there was just a huge explosion that created everything out of nothing...and my science teacher says....energy can't be created by itself...or something like that.....

12 billion years? Technically time and space don't fit together....since year means the earth rotating the sun....its like saying...I am 200 miles old....or the trail is 2 years long

Yes that is true, that is why the theory of God not being created by something else is irrelevant as well.
And can you stop with the .......?
It’s really annoying. Also the explosion came from to colliding atoms, where the atoms came from I am unsure.
It's quite interesting once you think about it.
    Where does infinity start?
Maybe it starts at the end, so if that is true then maybe our universe (we'll call it Universe B) was once another Universe (Universe A).
Universe A had too wide of a density, and thus collapsed on itself.
Once it collapsed in upon itself an implosion would cause a new universe to appear (universe B). Of course that is just a hypothesis.
Oh here is some info on the dimensions of our universe: http://www.atlasoftheuniverse.com/bigbang.html

You have a better way of organizing time?

yes, I guess its interesting. I know its just a hypothesis but, how would Universe A be created then?

Personally, I don't understand why scientists are so eager to understand everything. Maybe its the thirst of knowledge or to prove that god doesn't exist. Of course, no one in this world will be able to know EVERYTHING. It's something impossible.

And no, I don't have a better way to organize time, my science teacher said that time was unnecessary so I'm not sure....oh god, science is so boring

edit: But maybe learning might lead to our ending if God is real or isnt real maybe he doesn't want anyone to find out about him.

Universe A might have been created from another Universe, or the big bang.
The more you know the more prepared you are for the future.
A thirst for knowledge is not a bad thing.

    Spell check please.

Time and space are intrinsically linked. Hence the term "space-time". Because light can only move so fast, as we look, say, 200 light-years away, we see the light emitted from that object as it was 200 years ago, because it took the light that long to travel to us. We aren't even seeing the sun as it is right now. it takes about 8 minutes for the sun's light to reach us. The light a 200-light-year distant star emits right now will reach us 200 years from now. Our telescopes can see approximately 12 billion light years, meaning that the light we see is 12 billion years old. This is elementary-level astronomy.

This means, simply, that because we can see 12 billion light years, the universe is at least 12 billion years old. How else would the light be able to reach us?

^This is a little verbose, but it's the simplest explanation I could find.

I never said thirst for knowledge is bad, anyway all of this is theory right? so you can't say the big bang is fact.

There is physical evidence of the Big Bang. It's called the background radiation in the universe. There is too much to be explained simply by star life and death. It's the remnant of the Big Bang. That is the only logical explanation.

its not that simple u cant just say its the big bang and close it down u got to have believable proof

yes, I know about light travel...it just doesn't make any sense to me

If god wanted us to have knowledge, we would have all the knowledge is out there. The reason he hasn't done that is because there are violent people out there that might use knowledge for something bad.(For Example, Atomic Bomb)

I don't know what god's plans are...if he wants us to do all the stuff he ask us to do there must be a bigger reason.

theres a reason why we were created or evolved

I agree, you gotta have proof. That radiation could be something else that is yet undiscovered to humankind.

I can still say its more logical than creationism though.
A theory is somthing supported by facts gathered from the expirement.
Its just a puzzle piece that isn't completly solved.
