I wanted to start making my own awesome avatars. Unfortunately, Photoshop, which is what Llave uses, costs money. Misty suggested GIMP to me on Skype yesterday, which I'm assuming is essentially the same thing, but free, and I was wondering if there were a tutorial on it? Thanks!
http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/ Hope that helps. If you need any specific help though, you could ask for a few pointers. I haven't used gimp in some time, but it is very similar to PS. It's perfect for easily making avy's and signatures without having to pay.
This site is the best place for any Gimp-related help or tutorials. Unfortunately it seems to be down at the moment, dunno how long it's been that way, but the place is basically the Mecca of Gimp tutorials.
