You can watch new episodes of this series every week at 12:00 AM (Eastern Standard Time) on Adult Swim's Saturday night line-up. Feel free to discuss the english dub, and the story in general. However, please refrain from talking about anything that has not yet appeared in the english dubbed version of the anime.

Here's the promo and DVD trailers:

You can now legally watch the first two episodes of Brotherhood on Youtube. Hopefully, more will follow:

I'm very surprised, and even more ecstatic about it. I've seen the first episode with subtitles, and though it was epic, it seemed sort of haphazard; with too much happening in too short of a time span. Still, I have hope that it will get better. The original series is my favorite anime of all time, and so even if this new one is not quite as good (though naturally I hope that it is), I'm happy to see more of this show. Plus I hear that it follows the manga, so that should be pretty awesome (I've only read the first ten or so volumes, but it looked like it was going in an interesting direction).

There's going to be 63 episodes (or so I've heard from someone working on the English version of the show). I've watched 42 of them myself, and it is really amazing! It really does stick to the manga (but that's only because the first anime got ahead of what was already done in the manga, so they had to make up the rest of the story about half way through). I'm so excited to see it in English. This show is very precious to me -- the cast, the crew, the story, the characters, everything.

Thank you so much! I've been a big fan of the first anime series when it aired on Adult Swim some years ago. But glad that they're gonna air the Brotherhood series tomorrow night. =]

I haven't watched any of the Japanese dub but I'll be more anxious to see what they have done in English. Thanks again.

No problem :P I felt like sharing so people would know, because it almost slipped by me too.

Yeah, it's probably around there, since the manga is considerably longer than the original anime. Thanks!

It's good to hear that a dedicated FMA fan really likes it, though I probably won't quite be convinced until I see it. The thing that I liked most about the first series was it's emotional impact, it's slow-moving yet well-paced timeline, and the philosophical questions it raises. I know I only saw the first episode (and the first anime took about 13 episodes to really get amazing, in my opinion), but I'm still a little worried that it won't be as good.

Yeah, same here. It was so easy to get emotionally connected to FMA.
I haven't read the manga but a few of my friends always told me to.
I've seen all of the original, most of CoS and only the first episode of Brotherhood so I can't wait for this.

    EDIT: Just checked my Facebook.
Adult's Swim status was "New series premeire: Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. This Saturday at Midnight. Don't say we never gave you anything."

Oh yes, it really is good. There are points in the first anime that I like better than Brotherhood and the other way around. But Brotherhood is so very emotional. Episode 41 probably got to me the most. I think this series will be able to reach out to all fans of FMA, manga and the first anime. I abosutely love it. There are even more questions raised in this show concerning life, love, loss, our world, the world of alchemy -- oh, I just can't find the words to describe its greatness!

Figure I'll post this for those who haven't checked. The first episode is now available for streaming on adultswim.com, and I assume the second episode will be up later today.

Any thoughts on the first episode? I didn't particularly like Isaac's voice; he laughed pretty well, but I felt like he mumbled/tripped up on some of his lines. It's alright though, I'm pretty sure he's not an important character. I also don't like how they couldn't get Gracia and Elicia's original voice actors back, but that's not a big problem either. I liked Maxey Whitehead as Al; I got used to her pretty quickly, and at some points she sounded a lot like Aaron Dismuke.

Even though I enjoyed this episode, I don't think it was a very good FIRST episode. Too many characters were introduced too quickly, and so if I didn't know the series before watching, I think I'd be kind of lost. There was no explanation of what Alchemy is either.

I can see where you're coming from. For people who haven't watched the first anime or read the manga, it could be confusing; but actually, most animes start out that way (Black Cat, D. N. Angel, etc.).
The Ice Alchemist actually is an important character. You may not see him again, but what he was doing is a big part of the plot.
I liked Maxey as well. There were a couple of lines were I swore it was Aaron. xD

Second episode was pretty good. I loved the scene with The Truth. I read that part in the manga too, and it was a cool adaption. My complaint is the same as it was for the first episode, they crammed too much into one episode.

I'm happy to see the original voices of Trisha and Pinako reprising their roles. Also, as I suspected from the promo trailer, the voice of Wrath from the first series plays Truth in the new one. Which is kind of a fitting "easter egg" of sorts, since Wrath had a close relationship to The Gate before.

Woo! I loved the second episode. I know I've seen them all before, but seeing them in English is a blast. I really liked what they did with the Truth (and having Luci Christian play he/she/it was awesome). I know that they cram a lot at the begining but that's so that they can fit more in to other episodes later on (and, boy, does it get GOOD).

I'm doing this mainly for my own reference, but I will be updating the first post of the thread with the English voice actors. As the voice actors are revealed in the credits of each episode, I will compare them to the those of the first series, and make updates accordingly.

In any case, third episode was okay. I like the way they did it in the first series better, since this one was so rushed. Still, I'm sure they didn't want to bore us by making it drag on, plus it did fit with the manga better. I don't think Cornello turned all scary and giant in the manga, but that did make it more exciting XD

And Garxena, that's good to hear that are doing that so they can show more of the other parts of the story, and I'm looking forward to it a lot :)

Awesome! Now I won't have to write them down myself! XD There's just one thing I noticed: On the "returning voice actors" list, Pinako was actually played by Caitlin Glass in the first anime.

If I remember correctly (its been forever since I've read the manga) Cornello did go all wacko like that. I'd look back at the books, but I'm too lazy. (lol)

I can't wait for them to get to Tucker and Nina next week. I'm dying to see if they got the same VA for Tucker. (I got to meet him!)

Huh? Where'd you hear that? I have the english episodes on my computer, ripped straight from the DVDs. I just double-checked the credits, and it does say that Juli Erickson played Pinako.

Okay, it's been years since I read the first manga, so I don't doubt you XD

    Yeah, same here.

I heard it from Caitlin herself. It was a trivia question at a panel to win a little prize. I remember 'cause I got it wrong. xD

Huh, that's odd.Maybe she misspoke, or you misheard, because I'm certain that she didn't play Pinako. Maybe she meant/said "Winry's Mother"? Cause I know she played that >_>

In any case, I posted the VAs. Unfortunately, Breda is different in this series, but thankfully everyone else was the same (except for Scar of course, but we already knew that). I thought J. Michael Tatum did a very good job as Scar. It was completely different from the way that Dameon Clarke played him, but I thought it was a good interpretation. He definitely sounded like a crazy religious extremist, that's for sure :P

On a side note, I think it's safe to assume that Chris Patton will return as Greed, since he returned for the OVA dub back in 2009. Plus it says on his Wikipedia page that he works for FUNimation, and so far everyone who works for FUNimation has reprised their roles. Also, I'd estimate the chances that Scott McNeil will return for Hohenheim are about 65%. People have been saying that it's unlikely he'll return, since he works in Canada and Hohenheim has a much bigger role in Brotherhood, but he's played a lot of American roles, and seems pretty devoted to his job and his fans.

Finally, this is something else that I've noticed. Below is a link for FMA: Brotherhood's page on Anime News Network, and if you scroll down almost all the way, it has a fairly long list of English cast members, many of which have not appeared yet, and have not been announced anywhere else (from what I can tell). All of the characters listed that have not yet appeared have the same voice actors as in the previous series, which makes me suspicious. I don't know how much this information can be trusted, but they haven't been wrong yet.

I think you're right. She probably said "mom" and not "grandmom." ^^'

I also liked J. Michael as Scar. He definitely was different, but he was good. He creeped me out! (I'm a fan of his, and I think this role has gone to his top five.)

I'd love it if Scott McNeil and Chris Patton came back for their roles. =D I'm really interested to see if someone else takes the roles. I like to see different peoples' interpretations of characters. (Like Maxey instead of Aaron as Al.)

Forgive me for bumping this thread again, but there's some fairly big news with the english voice cast. Some of this will be revealed in next week's episode anyway, but Anime News Network posted a lot of the voice actor's for upcoming characters, including Aaron Dismuke's (Al from the first FMA series) new role. There's nothing spoiler-ific here, but I figure I'll put spoiler tags around the names and their actors, in case you want to be surprised. Here are the one's that fans probably care the most about:

    Ling Yao - Todd Haberkorn
    Lan Fan - Trina Nishimura
    Fu - Kenny Green
May Chang - Monica Rial (Lyra from previous series)
Hohenheim (Young) - Aaron Dismuke (Al from previous series)

I'm pretty sure that these are correct, since it would be odd if ANN just decided to list random voice actors, and treat them as if they were confirmed, but hey, you never know. There were a few other new ones listed, so if you want to see the rest, go here and scroll almost all the way down for the English VA's:

    http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=10216

All that aside, the new episode was awesome, and the cast did pretty damn well. Also, the first dubbed episode of Brotherhood is up on Funimation's Youtube channel. If you care, the link is in the first post.

Oh my gosh! That's so funny! My sister and I were just saying how Monica would be PERFECT for May! =D Aaron as Young Hohenheim is kinda ify for me. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Hmm... I only remember Trina from Black Blood Brothers (just seeing her name in the credits, I don't remember the role she played. I don't think I've heard Kenny Green (consciencely) before. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in their new roles!
