Fruits Basket

This was the first Anime I watched and whenever I finished watching it I was hooked for ages on watching anime. I haven't read the manga of it yet but I hope to be starting soon. This thread is if anyone out there wants to discuss about this funny, dramatic and sometimes sad anime.

 

Man, I've always wanted to watch that anime. Why is it called Fruits Basket anyway?

I believe the 17 volume is out. Did anyone notice Shigure, the dog, is the same english V/A as Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho?

 

Really? I've never watched that anime so I wouldn't know. Did anyone start to get a bit annoyed with Tohru as the anime progressed? I mean she was constantly saying sorry and she didn't stand up for herself.

I haven't read it yet but I'm going to start just as soon as I buy them, who was your fav character in it by the way? Mine has to be Shigure, he was sooooooo hilarious!

 

It depends on my mood but I'll say between Haru and Kyo.

 

Kyo could be funny at times and so could Haru, quote:

Haru: What I just did there was very dangerous and if it had been someone other than Kyo they could of been seriously injured so don't do it at home.

I have the first anime volume and volumes 1 through 16 of the manga, i totally love fruits basket!

 

Shigure is very funny, so now I'm just really going to get quotes and post them on this thread so here's one from Shigure!:

Everyone excluding Tohru and Yuki: No.
Kyo: Defending honor and your right to eat onigiri in one glorious fight.
Kyo *angry*: What?! You wanted an idea and I gave you one!

 

Lol, that's very funny, Kyo you and your constant fighting. Okay here is another one.

Ayame: [clasping Yuki's hands] Yuki, let's deepen the bond between us brothers!
Yuki: [annoyed] Before you can do that I'll drown you in the deepest part of that lake.
Ayame: That's right! No matter what happens we'll be together.
Yuki: I'll let you drown alone!

Aren't Ayame and Yuki close brothers?

*big, huge sweatdrop behind my back* No, total misunderstanding.

Momiji (rabbit): But, but--! They're scary Tohruuu.
Kyo *angry* (background): Don't go crying to her!
Tohru: So you're the rabbit... And I see that you're a boy, as well.
Hatori: Seriously, you're lucky Yuki threw them off.
Kyo: Hmph. He's always trying to steal the spotlight with his looks. I don't care what he says, I think Yuki likes--
*Yuki punches Kyo into the air*
Yuki *threatens*: Want me to send you higher...?
Kyo *covers his mouth*: Damn rat...

Shigure: So, anyway, I was wondering if you could stop by the house and take a look at Tohru's cut. That is, if it isn't a problem.
Hatori: No problem. I'll stop by the house this evening.
Shigure: Hmmm? What's this, Hatori? I don't think I ever heard you sound so eager to come over. Could it be you have a secret crush on Tohru?
[long silence from the other end of the phone]
