Since my last thread was wiped out by the hack I decided to make this one. OK so heres my problem, I have free MC Boot, I have a usb, and my nabor has a fat ps2 that he said I could use my free MC BOOT on, but here's twist I uploaded it onto my memcard on my nabors ps2 and yes my memcad IS a magicgate memcard but when I went to the config menu after uploading all the the files all that was there was the browse & system configuration features and no matter how many times I keep trying to re-upload the files nothing shows up on the ps2 configs menu...any help with this problem would greatly be appreciated.^^ thanks!^^
Hey bumping my thread since it never got answered. but I have a different question....ok well my slim broke do to certain reasons, and well I now have a fat ps2 which I bought refurbished for $59.99 at gamestop but first before I ask my question I wanna tell you guy's something first...ok well I tried to use free mcboot on on my slim..that didn't work, then I tried it on my naibors fat ps2 that didn't work, and now I've tried it on MY fat ps2...that didn't work either...I'm really in a rut here....I don't know whyyyy it won't work, so my question is could it be my usb flash drive, because I tried two memcards, I've tried it on two other ps2's one being my own, so it can't be those thing's that's causing it to not work, my usb flash drive is an hp usb flash drive...could it be blocking the files somehow? I'm desprate to play my back ups, I need help figuring this out, any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you!^_^
What? How did you double post? Do you need a chipped PS2 for it to work? Are you following a tutorial of some kind? If so, could you post it here?
It's because you didn't use your PS2 to install it. Free MC boot will only work on the PS2 that was used to exploit the memory card. As for flash drives, PS2 does not support any that cannot power themselves. The PS2 doesn't have the extra power to power the USB device.
how exactly do I use the ps2 to install free mcboot? and btw P, sry about the double post I would have asked the staff to merge it but I was too tired last night, so I just left it as a double post.^ ^
I'm not trying to backseat mod or anything like that. I'm genuinely interested in why the system didn't automerge the posts. :/ I'm trying to understand what you've done. Which installation method are you using?
well tbh it happens when you wait a certain amout of day's, weeks or months to re-post. and I used normal install.^ ^
Under the installation tab on this website, there are multiple installation methods. I can't see 'normal'. If you're not using one of them, can you give me a link to what you are using?
What? I haven't done anything yet. I'm trying to figure out what you're doing, so I can follow along and see what's going wrong. .__.
What installation method are you using? There are multiple methods listed on this Free mcboot website under the installation tab. If I know which one you're using, I can go through the steps with you and find out what you're doing, and hopefully what you're doing wrong.
I'm using normal install, when the free mcboot menu loaded up I hit normal install then after it installed successfully I powered do my ps2 took out the usb stick and turned the power on but nothin happened.T_T
So starting from scratch, can you detail what you do, and where it stops going correctly? Alternatively, you could try getting a volunteer installation, where you mail it to someone, and they do it. There's a list of people who'll do it here.
well actually I've decited to use the v.8 noobie packege since I'm a noob when it comes to free mcboot.^ ^
