    Okay college folks/college bound!

How many of you plan on pledging a fraternity or sorority when college starts? Or who here is in one/was in one during college? What was it like? What house? Which chapter?

I'm planning on pledging Lambda Chi Alpha, personally.

It's $4200 a semester for me. And that's IN-STATE tuition. Luckily, I'm getting a $4800 a year Pell Grant, so I don't have to pay that back. And with a $3500 loan, I only have to pay $101.24 for my tuition. And then pay the loan off, but I make about $4000 every few months at work. And my parents will help pay it off. So I'm a little lucky on that.

I have been in college a while and I really don't like fraternities. I have to cram classes and such so I stay off campus anyway and live in an apartment with a roommate and it works out better. I also have a job etc. For those who can live on campus and all, it works out for them but I also see so many people flunk out of college because of fraternities and sororities and the parties etc. Also, other stupid things happen.

    I never really considered it...

But Frats always been (to me) kind of a distraction from college, and something that you get into trouble with.

    Oh well.

Though, probably my interpretation of frats probably is messed up.

Sororities never appealed to me, neither do I think I'll have time for stuff like this. Considering my general schedule, I already have way too many things on my plate. College, in my opinion, is a place for me to study and earn my degree, then use it. Paying for my education plus a place of my own [even with a roommate] will already put me through hell. Joining Sororities will not only waste my time, but also distract me, and I wouldn't really want to end up doing something for my...sisters that I'll end up regretting for the rest of my life.
