Franchises that need to die

Screwattack did a list of the top gaming franchises that need to die and Kingdom Hearts made the list. I don't think it needs to die, but the damn series needs to move the **** on. Yeah Dream Drop Distance is set after 2, but the game is more set up than a sequel.

My first thought after reading the title was Kingdom Hearts, glad they put it on there. However, I dislike screwattack, so I won't be watching the top ten to find out which other franchises are on there.

Why would Angry Birds need to die? It is perfect at what it is trying to do.

 

I'm just really annoyed by all the t-shirts and merchandise they have.

 

Kingdom Hearts is just so and filling up stuff, that doesn't mean it has to die. Jeez, if Kingdom Hearts went away, I'm pretty sure everyone would lose a great game.

 

Which is just shows why it doesn't need to die, people love it and they are extremely succesful. And it's not like Angry Birds has the most annoying fanbase, I can name a lot that are worse.

 

Lol, angry birds is the first one that came to my mind, so yeah, I bet there are worse ones out there.

I admit, angry birds is a solid game (though there are things in it that are more on luck, which i hate, but that's another story). I'm just getting annoyed at all the hype of it.

 

Call of Duty should have been in the number 1 spot.

 

I've never played a CoD game for any extended period of time but is there really anything that changes from game to game? I just can't understand why people run out and toss $50 - $60 for something that is nearly identical to the one they already own.

I don't know about franchises but I would really like to see most movie to video game adaptations... end. Does anyone honestly buy them?
This excludes the Harry Potter games because it's Harry ****ing Potter.

 

I agree with these guys about the Lego games. For crying out loud I wish they would stop making those games

 

Nope, Halo deserves the spot. And it got it. I do agree Call of Duty also needs to die out though.

In fact I agree with this list entirely, and they do need to make KH3 and just be done with it.

Also I didn't know there were so many DDR games... holy hell.

In all honesty, there is barely a difference between the games. Just a few different modes to "spice it up a little" and a new story mode.
The only reason I really bought Black Ops was for the Zombies, which was decent.
The only reason I bought MW3 was....peer pressure :/

In a way CoD is like the FIFA Franchise, if you've played one you've played them all.

 

Fun story: I passed out playing DDR once.

 

I agree with what the video said on Angry Birds. It was a solid game and all, but it isn't so good as to deserve all the attention it has. I played Crush the Castle for free and see no real reason to play Angry Birds other than stealing someone's phone for a few miutes. Why Angry Birds has 4 separate apps (trusting the vid on that stat) is beyond me. I think it goes well on the bottom of the list.


Final Fantasy I don't really see why people hate so much. I think the new games are very solid. My only thing is that I'm not huge into Final Fantasy as a franchise. The games really have very little to do with eachother and I think should be given their own titles rather than "Final Fantasy #" Admit it, If FF13 was called like "L'Cie Legends" (or ideally something less stupid than that), it would have much less heat. People just seem to expect perfection out of being called "Final Fantasy"


And Kingdom Hearts I can see being on there too, despite the fact that I disagree with them. KH3 is taking so long because of Final Fantasy vs XIII, not because Nomura has no idea what is going on in his own story. While he obviously makes changes to the story as it goes, it isn't paradoxical other than a few minor pieces. Being long and somewhat confusing isn't a crime. But obviously I've got a bias there.

I mean seriously, it's because Final Fantasy has done so well it keeps going, same as Halo. I really don't see why not continue if they do so well

 

Because just because a series does well doesn't make it good in the slightest.
Chances are a series with 6+ games stopped being good a while back.
