ooc - I dun know what to post as Alice. She's out cold. So... And Mother's out of the picture for the moment...

    Shino

Shino froze when Kyle looked back to them. The look he had on his face had to of meant something was happening, and it wasn't good. And of course Shino was right. The surface... Going back already? He dreaded the thought and wished to turn around and go back to sleep. And by how Skye moved closer to him he was sure she felt the same way. But...both knew that saying no here would be selfish. They needed a medic, so someone was hurt. If someone died because of him...

He nodded, smiling back at Skye. "Yeah, heh, too boring down here anyway." He said, forcing the joke. He then looked back at Kyle and nodded. "I hope you'll lead the way..."

With arms crossed and sword placed on his back, Drake stood near to the elevator that led to the surface. He was forbidden to use it and forbidden to return up there. "how cruel...all my life I lived to escape there, to escape those beast...but the moment I accept my end and lost everything I was saved and brought down here" Drake said looking up at top where the elevator led to the surface "now when I wish to be up there and face those beasts I am told I cannot...fate can be cruel" Drake said. With his arms crossed his suddenly began to clench his arms "something is going on up there...something wrong" Drake said

Jacklyn stood back, watching as the small girl checked Alice's vital signs and anything that could be serious. She didn't like standing around, it was starting to make her nervous. She looked over her shoulder, sensing that the ghouls were coming closer, smelling an injured half human. She wrapped her fingers around the handle of her broadsword, her eyes narrow and alert since her brother and the other kids had arrived.

"Why did you bring them?" Jacklyn growled under her breath when her brother moved next to her, his gun drawn and ready to fire. It was a big risk bringing these little ones with him; they couldn't afford to screw up.

    K y L E

Because they have already experienced the Surface..." Kyle murmured back, keeping his gun pointed to the unknown and aimed, ready to cock and pull the trigger. He hated the surface, he didn't want to be up here as much as the kids didn't want to be here. His mechanical arm and leg were a constant reminder why he wouldn't catch himself here, and here he was... With his sister, and a large number of people. More than he wanted.

"There wasn't any time to take them back," he said, keeping his voice low for only his sister to hear, who was scanning the buildings for any movement. "Besides, Skye wants to be a medic. This is a chance for her to see if she really wants to be one."

    εїз ~Ş к Ў є~ εїз
Skye heard Kyle and the other women talking to each other, and pretended like she couldn't hear them. Kids?! Just kids?! They were more than that, they were survivors. They lived through the hell that everyone else was so afraid of. And what they think this would change her mind to be a medic. She growled under her breath, thankful that Shino was with her as she checked Alice's pulse.

"There's nothing broken, she's just having a little trouble breathing," she said, standing up and brushing herself off. "She's just very weak and worn out. Her organs are a bit traumatized, but nothing serious. She'll live. We can move her down to the city..." If only she had that option so many years ago with her father... If only she had that option for her friends she had lost. But there was no if only's for Shino. She almost lost him once, but she wasn't going to let that happen again.

Sighing out and stepping to the side, Skye fought the urge to sudden cry in front of them. She had these random mood swings since forever, but she learned how to master masking it. She would be happy one moment, and the next, she would be bursting into tears. She really didn't have time to grieve or cry, she was needed to focus on the current situation every hour, every second of her life. The only time she was able to cry was at night when she was wrapped up in her blankets and had another nightmare about the horrific experiences she had in the past...

Just then, she caught something in the corner of her eye. Skye became instantly alert, watching the rubble that was in front of them. She reached for her cane, but then when she didn't feel anything, she gasped and looked down at her belt. She left her weapon at the apartment. 'Brilliant Skye, brilliant!'

    K y L E

Catching Skye's movements, Kyle's eyebrow's furrowed as he followed Skye's eyes over to the area where she was looking. Something was moving over there alright, and who knew what it was. He heard his sister unsheathe her weapon as he cocked his gun and aimed, keeping alert for anymore. They never traveled alone. "Shino, try to pick up Alice. Skye, help him if he needs it."

    I can't do it. I can't do it... I can't make it.'

Kiki was laying on the floor, gasping for air as her vision swirled and tittered. Her judgement and sanity was beginning to be thwarted with pain and tiredness. The cave was so large, she didn't even know if she was close to an exit. She was surprised she wasn't even dead yet. Her arms were battered and bruised, even beginning to ooze a little blood from scrapping against the rough ground. She couldn't stand, her legs were completely broken. Kiki was also beginning to feel overheated, possibly getting a fever from the shock and the energy she exerted so earnestly to get this far.

'Alice...?' Kiki called to her friend through her mind again. It has been so quiet for who knows how long, Kiki was beginning to worry that it was because of her. 'Alice... are you there...?' Her brain felt more fizzled before and Kiki let herself zone out for a moment, trying to regain herself. How much longer would she live... Was this it?

In the back of her mind, Kiki heard something step into the cave. She held her breath, dreading what it could be. She was going to become a ghoul, or she was going to be eaten, shredded apart until there was nothing left of her. Weakly, she forced herself to lull her head to look at the entrance of the cave. Kiki could barely make out the shape... But it wasn't a ghoul. It wasn't a demon either... Human, maybe? But what were they doing out here?

Feeling suddenly desperate in her current situation, Kiki reached an arm out towards the figure. "Help..." Her voice sounded pitiful, pathetic, but she couldn't speak up. She was hurt so badly. She suddenly coughed, pressing her cheek into the hard ground as the cough racked her chest. She could see bits of crimson splatter on the ground and then realized she probably injured herself further by moving the way she did to get out of the area. She groaned, beginning to fade, beginning to feel numb from her fingertips.

He glanced around himself, wary of his surroundings, until a faint whisper reached his ears. "Help...". His eyes widened from surprise at the sound of another human voice. He peered deeper into the cavern, seeing the figure of a human draped on the ground, after hearing a echoing cough, and the sight of blood on the ground, he quickly lifted himself with the strength he had, and carefully dragged himself over to what, or whoever else had found way into this area. "Hey." he called out, not waiting for a response, knelt down, noticing it was a human, placed his ear to her back, listening for a heart-beat.

    Shino

Shino watched as Skye examined the unconscious girl carefully, unsure what he should do for the time being. He barely caught something being said behind him, but since none of it was addressed to him he paid little mind to it.

Then finally Skye had her diagnosis and he was looking forward to going back underground where it was safe from any threats of Ghouls. But of course the moment he thought such everyone was reaching for their weapons and something was moving near by. And with no weapons to reach for currently he froze up. That is, until Kyle had said his name.

He really didn't want to pick this girl up, but as he was really the only one who couldn't fight he went ahead and did it. After all, delaying them just for his own sake could cost them all their lives. So he crouched down and pulled Alice up, draping her over his shoulder. She was surprisingly light. He had to wonder, did she even eat?

    "Ready to go."

    Alice

Alice's consciousness kept drifting back and forth and she could faintly hear people talking around her. But no matter how hard she tried she couldn't open her eyes or speak. She couldn't even twitch for that matter. It felt as if something heavy was laying on her, stopping all movements. Even when she was picked up that feeling remained.

Only when she heard something new did it go away. It was a voice, a faraway voice which sounded somehow clearer than the ones around her.

    'Alice... are you there...?'

"Kiki..." She breathed out in a mutter. Alice could tell that her friend was in some serious trouble and probably worse off than her. She should of stayed with Daemon... This was all her fault. And if something happened to Kiki because of this...

Kiki...please be safe... She thought, hoping that her thoughts went through to Kiki.

Everyone, get moving down below! NOW!" Jacklyn wasn't joking around. What emerged from the shadows was indeed a ghoul. It was just a baby, but it was one of the deadlier ones. More shadows were starting to move around the first one, which meant there were probably more. The kids and Alice were in danger. Kyle needed to take them down to the city, now.

"Get to the elevator with the kids now, Kyle! I'll handle them." She tightened her grip on the sword before running toward the first one she spotted at a high pace. She was going to take care of these little buggers one at a time, and protect these souls she valued and was beginning to value.

    K y L E

Get moving, kids." Kyle had his gun still aimed toward the first target as his sister zoomed in to take care of it. He saw another shadow from the corner of his eye and fired a few rounds, watching at a ghoul crumbled and fell off the rubble. He wanted to stay and help his twin, but he knew he needed to go with the group. Alice needed his attention now.

He pushed his little group back into the elevator and shut the door, pushing a few buttons to indicate that they needed to go down. Suddenly, the elevator lurched, and they were on there way back underground, away from the Surface, leaving his sister and the ghouls behind.

    εїз ~Ş к Ў є~ εїз
Skye stood there quietly in the darkness of the elevator as it was moving, glad for the dim light so no one had to see her eyes wide in fear. She was even shaking a little, having flashbacks of her past after she watched the ghoul that Kyle shot fall to the ground over and over again, when her father...

She heard the other girl speak softly while being held by Shino and realized that she was rapidly coming out of her unconscious state. Kyle had put his gun away and asked Shino for Alice and took her from Shino, cradling the girl in his arms as if she was a small child. When Shino was fear, Skye wrapped her arms around his arm and squeezed it tightly, burying her head into his shoulder for some sort of comfort. Even though she was the stronger of the two, she did break from time to time. She was still a kid after all...

    K y L E

Alice, it's me, Kyle. You're safe, you're alright now..." He stroked the strands of hair that were hanging in Alice's face to the side, watching her very carefully. She said Kiki's name, perhaps calling out to her. Kiki... Where was she anyways? A feeling of dread suddenly grasped as his heart as he pushed on a mechanical button on his arm. "Kiki? Kiki? Do you read me?" He let go of the button, receiving nothing but a fuzzy signal. "Kiki, are you there?" His voice sounded more urgent, but calm.

    Again, there was nothing.

Kiki was wheezing, struggling to breath. Her heartbeat was quick, but very faint. She felt a warmth at her back and shuddered from the contrast of the cold air of the gave to the body heat of another she felt in her half conscious state. She was fading fast, but she knew she couldn't sleep. She might never wake up again. The numbness in her fingertips was beginning to travel up her arm to her shoulders at a gradual pace. She was going into shock, she realized this. This could be her last moments, she wasn't sure.

'I'm alive... not dead yet...' Kiki let out a halfhearted chuckle in her mind, holding onto Alice's thoughts for as long as possible. 'Just... promise me to smile... Everything.... will be... alright....' She was starting to loose her connection with Alice, which made her frustrated. She tried pushing her hand down on the cave floor to prop herself up, but she couldn't feel anything. Her arm shook before giving away and hung limply on Kiki. She was still breathing, still trying to hold on for as long as possible.

Her comlink was going off, trying to connect with her. Someone's voice could barely be heard, a male's voice. They were out of range for it to work properly, plus it received some damage. Once they were outside and closer to where the city was, it would probably work again.

    [IMG] ~Kayta~
[IMG]Everything had been pretty quiet lately and it had been making Kayta nervous. She had been hunting the ghouls for a few years, and she had never had such a slow week. Even the one she had been hunting a few days ago had disappeared before she could finish it off. And now all of a sudden there was so much activity that she couldn’t even turn around without running into a ghoul or two. Now she was running. She usually didn’t run from a fight. It was against everything she believed in. But now she really needed a break. She was almost dead on her feet, she had been running without a break for almost a full day, and her arm was sore from swinging her knife at the monsters. She stopped after she reached the end of a dark alley. It sounded like the one she was running from had stopped chasing her. Kayta leaned heavily against the wall and clutched at her side, breathing heavily. That’s when she heard it. The sound of ghouls… fighting someone else and not her. She zoned in on the sound and began to run again, this time, towards the fight instead of away from it. She rounded a corner and saw it. A lone human, a girl, fighting a young ghoul. Several other ghouls were gathering around the girl as she fought, clearly an unfair fight. Tired as she was, Kayta ran forward to join the girl. She wasn’t sure what made her do it. She didn’t even know this girl; why would she fight for her? Maybe it had something to do with what had happened to her family. If there was any chance for her to save anyone’s life, especially by hurting a ghoul, she would do it. Heh. She hadn’t even put away her knife from the last fight.

Within moments they were in the elevator back to the underground city. Almost as if everything that happened on the surface really didn't happen. Like I'm dreaming... But it all was real. And as proof of that was the other girl, no in Kyle's arms, and Skye clinging to his arm. To try and comfort her he used his other arm to pat her on the head with a smile. "We're safe now." He whispered to her.

    Alice

Alice felt Kyle's hand brushing away her hair. It was able to bring her back, as she had mostly recovered at this point anyway. Her eyes slowly opened and she looked up at the blurry image which was Kyle. "She's fading." Alice commented after Kyle tried to get a hold of Kiki. "But she is calling out to someone I feel... I think she will be okay." Alice said with a small smile, pushing at Kyle's chest.

"But what of your twin? Let's drop these kids off and return to help her." She said, ready to get back on her feet.

[IMG]His head against her back, Kayate heard a faint heartbeat. Sighing out of relief realized she barely had an ounce of strength left, witnessing her failed attempt to push herself up, whispered to her, "Try not to strain yourself, you're pretty badly hurt..." which he felt was unneeded to say, as something like this should be obvious to the victim. "Tch...It's quite a ways to the city...I'll just have to be careful...C'mon..." he muttered indirectly to the girl. He noticed her arms were covered in a light blood, "Wow, you seem worse off than I thought..." he once again muttered, his eyes scanning her body, mostly her legs, which seemed broken beyond use. Sigh...If I'm the only one capable of doing this... he thought, as he gently attempted to grab her arms, maneuvering in front of her so that he could piggy-back her, shifted the girl from her current position, and hoisted her up onto his back, moving her arms where they would wrap around his neck, while tenderly moving his arms under her legs, leaning forward a bit so she wouldn't be able to fall, if managing to do this, he would walk back to the edge of the cave's entrance, peering about for an enemie, before going on his way.

Jacklyn was busy, fighting off the group of ghouls that were beginning to swarm. She didn't question their vast appearance, she already had a theory. Alice had attracted them in some weird way, but it wasn't her fault. With the rate she was killing them though, she figured that she would be done-

Suddenly, Jacklyn spotted movement to her left, realizing that she wasn't alone. No, she wasn't the only human in this area. There was a girl she never seen before, fighting with only a knife, but doing a clean job about it. An ally? Jacklyn had never seen her before, but by her appearance Jacklyn could see that this girl was exhausted. She wouldn't last long.

So indeed, this was a burden but a blessing at the same time.

    'Just my day.'

    K y L E

Kyle gave up contacting Kiki as soon as Alice explained to him a little of the situation. So Kiki was hurt... How badly, he didn't know. According to Alice, she was fading. But there was nothing they could do about it except wait... Maybe Kiki's signal would appear on their virtual map grid eventually. For now, they would have to sit tight and wait for a miracle to happen.

Kyle could see that Alice was alright now and ready to stand. He smiled a little at her and then carefully sat her down on her feet, ready to catch her if she was still unstable. "Jacklyn? Needing our help? Psh. More like we would be getting in her way," he murmured the last part, looking down at his mechanical hand; one of his constant reminders of a quick trip to the surface gone wrong. "Anyways, we'll take the kids back and then we'll check on Jacklyn. Though I think she probably has it under control... Shouldn't you take it easy anyways, Alice? You just went through one of those phases again..." He looked long and hard at her, watching her closely. Jacklyn told him that Alice had suddenly gone into demon mode while she was with her, then suddenly snapped out of it. It was strange, and he was starting to think this wasn't a good idea to head back up with Alice any time soon.

The little girl continued to cling to Shino's arm, closing her eyes tightly to try to shut out the images that were replaying in her mind over and over again. Skye felt his hand pat her head and then knew that Shino wasn't going to leave her any time soon. He was going to be right here with her. Her father was gone...

There was a flash in her mind, and then a sudden horrible image played as if someone pressed the play button against her will. Her father. Blood splattering across the floor. Those demonic red eyes looking right at her, mouth drooling, figure crumpled but still standing and lumbering towards her.

Skye's eyes snapped open, seeing nothing but Shino's purple jacket and the lights of the elevator as they were heading down further underground. She squeezed his arm yet a little tighter, trying to force Shino's words in her head.

    We're safe now.

Her eyes stung, her heart weakened. She wouldn't let herself cry, not now. That was in the past after all. It happened. It was over and done with. Despite her will power to hold back, one tear escaped, sliding down her cheek. She leaned against Shino a little, staring at the elevator wall and watching the concrete slide pass them.

The pain in her legs suddenly intensified twenty times over when she felt herself being lifted from the ground. She gasped, shutting her eyes tightly and clenching her teeth together until they hurt. Like her arms though, they were starting to go numb. Painfully so, but she knew it wouldn't last long.

Kiki whimpered softly, digging her nails in her arm subconsciously and pressed her cheek into the stranger's back, knowing that he was here to help her not hurt her. She could hear her heartbeat in her ears, feeling her legs throbbing with the steady rhythm, but there was nothing she could do about it besides take it the way it was.

She felt them moving, knowing that they were getting out of the cave. Kiki wished she could fall asleep, not have to feel any of this, but that wouldn't be the case for a while. Her instincts told her that if she fell asleep now, she would be in big trouble and probably would never wake up again...

Why was she here anyways? What was her purpose for being here?

    'Daemon...'

There was nothing she could do not, not in the current state she was in. Deep down, she hoped that the little girl was alright as she kept her eyes shut tightly, trying to focus on happier times than this. Making coffee or hot chocolate for her friends, playing pranks on Elizabeth and Kathrine to tick them off and make Alice laugh, making up stories with Alice in their makeshift fort made out of ratty pillows and worn sheets when they were just kids... Those precious memories seemed to have a remedy of their own, letting Kiki relax against her hero's back as they maneuvered back to the city.

[IMG]As tired as she was, Kayta couldn't help but feel exhilerated fighting the ghouls. It was like she was getting a caffiene rush, but without the caffiene. For the last few years, she had lived for the chase, making it her mission in life to personally destroy as many ghouls as she possibly could, and now she was fighting dozens of them at once. She couldn't help but feel great doing it. She swung her knife at the nearest monster and slit its throat, then she turned and stabbed at another one in its heart. She looked up and smiled at another ghoul a few feet away and then she pulled her gun out of her pocket and shot it between the eyes. That's for my brother, She thought. Yeah, she felt a lot better now.

With his newfound "companion", Kayate was forced to move at a slow pace, first to keep the girl from feeling any more pain than she needed to, and secondly, he still felt a bit tired from his earlier Flash-Step.
I can't believe I'm doing this...I'm no hero, heh...I doubt anyone even knows I exist, I've devoted my life to staying in the shadows...But here I am, helping some girl I don't even know...Maybe these people are rubbin' off on me... thoughts ran through his head, on how this situation could end, Will we even make it to the City? Will she even survive...? Will I survive? he jogged at a steady pace, keeping the girl hoisted up on his back, as he left the cave's entrance, heading straight.
"Now...Which way was the city from here...?" he slowed to a stop, assessing his situation at hand. Let's see...I started from the City...Went north...then was attacked by those Ghouls after a while...east...Right!" he muttered to himself, until he heard the sound he'd hated for years.
Closing his eyes with a sigh, turned around, almost casually, until opening his eyes, witnessed the claws of a Ghoul swiping horizontally at his face.
"Woah! Watch where you're swingin' that thing..." he called out to the creature, as he ducked down, allowing the claws to pass over both his, and his passenger's head.
"Well, this should be easy...Only one of you..." he said to no one in particular, as he placed his right palm upside down on the enemie's midsection, "Too simple...", he flicked his wrist, bringing his arm up in one motion, slicing it in two with his hidden blade. "I'm lucky that wasn't a group of 'em." he sighed, once again flicking his wrist, allowing the blade to slip under his sleeve.
A glance to the sky showed an oncoming darkness, "The clouds...Damn...We'll have to take shelter..." he searched around for an abandoned town of some sort, spotting one in the distance, he began to trot of toward it, occasionally adjusting himself to better suit the girl. A deep rumble sounded throughout the sky, as raindrops began to pour.
Once at the town, the two ducked into a rundown small building. moving to one of the walls, Kayate slid the girl from his back, settling her in a sitting position on the wall, he then sat against the wall across from her, which was only about 5 feet away, "Well...Here we are..." he said, staring at the roof, unaware if she was listening or conscious, but was just making sure she was safe.

The kid was good, Jacklyn had to admit. They were almost done taking care of this horde of ghouls. This was a pack, made up around fifteen ghouls. There was only a few left, staggering about. With one swing of her broad sword, they crumbled to the contaminated dust, twitching and breathing their last breath.

With that out of the way, Jacklyn flicked her sword out to the side, letting the excess of the ghoul remains drip off her sword as she turned to look at the girl more carefully. She never seen her before, and she looked younger than her. Was she from the city. "Nice shooting, Tex." Jacklyn muttered, putting her sword up behind her back. She wasn't good at interacting with other people besides her small group of friends, so being alone with this girl made her a bit uneasy. More like socially awkward. "Where you from? The city? Or the Surface? I never seen you around here before."

Kiki was fading in and out of consciousness, trying to hang on to the the stranger, trying to not let herself drift. At one point, it felt like someone turned off the sound and the lights, leaving her suspended at one part of the journey. When the sound rushed back, she first heard the soft hiss of something that seemed very familiar to her. Her body felt like it was floating, the pain gone. Was she dead? Or...

Everything rushed back to her instantly, causing her to whimper and turn her head to the side. Her body felt like it was on fire, being stabbed and burned over and over again with each heartbeat. She coughed weakly, more blood dribbled out of her mouth. Kiki barely opened her eyes, but almost regretted it. The room swayed and tilted as if she was on a merry-go-round that spun too fast. She shut her eyes tightly, then tried to open them again. She could see a faint figure sitting on the opposite side of the room... They weren't in the cave anymore... It wasn't a foe though, she knew that. This was her rescuer.

"Who... are you....?" Her voice, it sounded so weak, so pathetic. She could barely talk without wincing, without it feeling like it was a challenge. Her tongue felt thick, almost like it was swollen. But it was just her imagination. She moaned, her legs trembling under the painful strain they were in. She pressed her cheek to the cool concrete, forcing herself to listen to the hissing sound.

Then she pinpointed what is was.

    "Rain..." she whispered, smiling slightly.

[IMG]Kayta looked around her in satisfaction. Not a single one left, she thought. Putting her gun in her pocket and her knife back up her sleeve, she turned and faced the girl she had been fighting with. "Oh. Um, I'm uh, no, I'm not from the city... Wait, what city? And I've never seen you before, either." She looked down at her feet awkwardly. She hadn't really talked to anyone in a while. Yeah, this was a bad idea. She had no idea what to do now. When this happened, she usually just walked away, but she didn't think that was a very good option right now. So she just stood there like an idiot, glaring at her shoes.

ooc; Had a reply ready the same day Maka posted but lost it... And then haven't been able to get online till now. Sorry everyone. D:

    Alice

"You're probably right. Besides, she'd be mad if we did go to help her." Alice said as she got to her feet. However the moment she got to her feet everything began to blur out again, and to help herself from falling she closed her eyes and titled her head down. It was sort of relaxing to her.

What was worse though was that she could feel the demonic energy surging through her in flashes, signaling that she wasn't fully in control yet. Surely her eyes might of been changing from their normal pale color to a golden shade with snake-like pupils, but she still took a peek at the kids standing next to her. Ironic they would return the favor so quickly, especially as they did not seem fit enough to. The girl clung to the boy who stared down at her with worry. How sad it was for them to save someone like Alice, even if they were used to the surface.

She had lost both her hostage and her daughter Alice within the same hour. Needless to say Mother was far from being happy.

So they still dare to fight me...

Mother looked down to the sleeping Daemon beside her, stroking the girl's white locks of hair from her face. She was the only good thing that came from today's events. Through her Mother could finally find out about this city...if Daemon could remember that is. The girl was...unstable to say the least. Still becoming accustomed to her powers.

That is when the rain lightly tapped on her face. And when a cruel idea came to her.

"So you were able to get away from me. But I shall make it so coming to the surface gets harder and harder each and every time." Mother raised one of her thin arms above her head, outstretching her index finger to point at the nearest dark cloud. "Let toxic rain fall from the heavens from this day forth!"

And so the clouds began to turn slightly red, and the rain would turn like acid. Not a very strong acid, but it would burn. However it will only do sever damage if one was silly enough to stand in it for too long.

Kayate glanced down from his stare at the ceiling, hearing a voice in the room.
"Oh, you're conscious...That's good I suppose..." he called out to the girl. He was flicking his wrist repeatedly, making sure there were no technical difficulties with his blade. "And, I'm afraid my name will not be revealed to you. I've got an image...Or rather, no image, to uphold." he said rather nonchalantly, not meeting her eyes. "S'raining, if you can't tell, so we'd better stay inside."

The flicking of his wrist, stopped, as he looked up at her, he saw a small smile, "Hm, first time I've actually taken a look at you. You look pretty beat up...What happened, exactly?" he asked, her, scanning her over, before looking into her eyes, waiting for an answer.

Raising an eyebrow, Jacklyn realized this must be one of the survivors running around the Surface... Just like those two kids. She didn't look too comfortable talking to Jacklyn, and Jacklyn could understand why. She was a cold hearted person, not really an energetic outgoing being like her other friends were. She sighed, looking to where the elevator was. "Listen, you look exhausted. You won't get any rest staying up here with those ghouls running around..."

Jacklyn then picked up something with her nose and looked to the west. There were ominous clouds heading in their direction; they also had an unusual color to them. 'This can't be good.' Jacklyn looked back over to the girl, momentarily seeing a mirror image of herself when she was younger. Her eyes soften and then she reached a hand out to the girl. "It's about to rain. Come with me to the city, you'll be safe there."

Kyle frowned slightly, seeing that Alice was already having issues just when he set her down. He could tell by the way she stood there, how she suddenly had grown quiet. The demonic energy was still working against her.

He looked up when the elevator came to a complete stop, the doors sliding open. Kyle placed a hand on Alice's shoulder, letting her know that he was still there and still by her side. "Come on, let's take the kids back to the apartment."

Skye collapsed on the couch as soon as Kyle and Alice left them both and curled up into fetal position, pulling a pillow to her chest and hugged it tightly. She wasn't feeling good as the images kept flashing in her mind over and over again. She whimpered softly, pressing her face into the rough fabric so that she could try to push the thoughts out of her head. Skye was beginning to get a headache along with her tummy ache.

There would be times in her life where she would end up like this if something went wrong on a mission out on the Surface. Sometimes it lasted a few hours, sometimes a few days. Skye knew it worried her friends, but she couldn't help it. She hated going through these kind of phases. She would be repeating images in her mind over and over again until she fell asleep or Shino or someone else found something to coax her out of this strange mind phase. This was her weakness, letting fear wrap around her, tasting, smelling, feeling, and some times touching everything in the horrible memories of her past. Sometimes she confused reality with dreams.

    Skye hated it.

Sit," Kyle ordered Alice after flinging things off of his couch and on the floor. As soon as she did, Kyle wrapped a blanket around his friend and then patted her on the head. He then stood up and made his way over to his holographic computers, checking the map for any signs of Kiki. He could see Jacklyn's signal, flashing on the map. There was also a weather alert flashing on the map, indicating that a strange severe storm was on its way over to their general direction.

Kyle touched the hologram with the storm warning, bringing up images of dark, ominous, red clouds. "Interesting..."

The computer read: Warning! Toxic Rain. 83% Chance. Wind 34 MPH

Without a second thought, Kyle pressed the comlink on his mechanical arm. "Jackie, seek shelter or head to the city. There's a bad rain storm heading our way."

    "Already on my way."

He sighed out pushing away from the computer and came back over to have a look at Alice. He knelt in front of her, putting both of his hands on her shoulders. "How are you feeling, Alice?"

Oh..." Kiki was disappointed that she wasn't going to get a name out of this guy, but then again... There was room to be creative now.

Her fingers flex, her body shivering from the pain and strain. She wished she was laying down instead of sitting up, but she knew that it would be harder for her rescuer to lift her up once she laid back down. Plus, this helped her so she wasn't choking on her own blood.

"There was a little girl," Kiki began, taking in raspy breaths, "that ran off from the city... I went after her... followed her-" The muscle in her leg twitched, making her gasp and dig her nails in her palm to stop the pain somehow. She got a hold of herself, taking in quick breaths of air so she could finish her explanation. "To this part," she continued, her voice strained. "The mother of the ghouls... I think I found her, or she found me... She captured me, broke my legs, wanting to know about the city..."

Beads of sweat were beginning to appear on Kiki's forehead, but it was just a sheen of it. Her body was beginning to be feverish all over again. She bit her lip, trying not to scream from the pain. She couldn't reveal their hiding place, she had to keep quiet.

A look of concern spread upon his face, "A-Are you alright? Do you want to lie down, or something...?" he half got up, squatting on the ground, holding out his hand, "I'll help you, if so, I know you probably can barely stand sitting here speaking to me..." something sparked in Kayate's mind, "Wait...She captured you, and I found you in that cave...What about that cave got her to take you there...?" his eyes wide with the sudden thought, With something that could...Control the Ghouls...It definitely wouldn't hide a victim in any random area...

"Nyah, nevermind," he muttered, shaking his head, "I've got no reason to be in the business of another human, nonetheless someone from that city..." he looked down at the ground for a bit, still squatting, before looking back up at the girl, "Oh...My apologies, allow me to help you...?"

[IMG]Kayta looked up. The stranger was holding out her hand, and oddly enough, Kayta didn't think she'd mind taking it. She wasn't sure what it was about the stranger, but she felt like she could be herself with her. You're losing it, Kayta. She thought to herself. Why would this person be any different from all the others? Who cares about a little rain? You should just walk away, now, before you get all tangled up with someone else's problems. But she couldn't bring herself to do so."I'm Kayta," she said, taking the strangers hand. "What city are we going to?"

    Alice

Alice had allowed Kyle to lead her to his house and then to the couch. She hadn't notice the blanket around her till five minutes after the fact but the pat made her look up in a daze. Something new was happening but she couldn't focus on anything that was said.

"What if Mother has Kiki..." Alice muttered. Her eyes had remained in their demonic state. Maybe if she gave herself up in exchange for Kiki... Either way she continued to fight the surge of demon power since it would do no good if she led the mother of all demons to the city. "She's probably okay but there is still a chance she's not..."

    Shino

Knowing that Skye was going through one of those phases again Shino knelled down in front of the couch. He reached out and placed his hand on top of her head once more, trying to comfort her. Smiling slightly he tried to get a look at her face. "That was pretty easy at least," Shino started, striking up a random conversation. "And you were awesome. One day everyone here will know you as the greatest medic around!" In hopes that what he was saying was helping he laughing slightly.
