Forgotten Insanity

Elizabeth​

Elizabeth sliced once of the dummies down the middle, almost feeling sorry for whoever made sure that there were some here each day, as she listened to Drake speak. She felt sorry for the warrior, as one should be allowed to die fighting. But it was the way things were around here, and they couldn't afford to have the trainers die. Not until there was a replacement ready that is.

"I have a lot of trust in some of the Surface Workers these days. And who knows, maybe they will find a replacement soon so you could go to the surface once again."

Kathrine​

She wasn't sure if he knew she could still hear his thoughts, so she chose not to reply to them. Instead she turned around and started for the nearest elevator. Alice was right. All males are lame. Kathrine thought so he could hear it.

 

Ɣ_ɧᶏᶭᶄᶓӌᶓ_Ɣ

He let out a small smile as he was noticed and Kiki bounded on over. His taller form smiled down at her and he squeezed his arms around the Scout's body as she gave him a surprsingly tight hug. He had been to her house enough that he knew how to serve himself, so he took the mug that she offered and he nodded. "Heh. It's nice seeing you again. I forgot how tight you can hug, even if you're only as wide as a twig, heh..." He mused quietly, gently refusing the hot cocoa pack and putting it back where she got it from. "Nah, I'll fix myself a cup of coffee." He promised with a small smile, puttering around the kitchen and looking at thsoe sitting next to her. "Yeah, Kiki's quite the social butterfly, isn't she?" He said with a little chuckle, leaning his gun in the corner but keeping his gloves on out of sheer habit as he made himself some instant coffee. As he waited for it to heat up, the door announced that they were having some visitors. He raised an eyebrow and looked at them, watching the girl walk in. She didn't seem the friendliest, that was certain, this girl, and what was more is that she had brought a child here with her. A child. Hawkeye was not good with children in the least, and waited until he could feel Kiki's pulling gaze asking for his opinion. Holding his burning mug in his gloves, he looked over and offered his best fake smile. "C'mere." He said softly to the little girl, casting Kiki a knowing gaze to capitalize on his absense with the little girl for a bit and talk to he woman that dropped her off. He grabbed her hand surprisngly tenderly with his large glove and tugged gently down a hallway. "You must be pretty tired. There's a sofa you can lie down on for a while back here." He said, basically pulling her out of the room towards the sofa at the end of the hallway. As they arrived, he picked up a blanket and offered it to her.

 

ooc - ...I have nothing for Alice to say other than she is drinking and waiting for Jacklyn to say something.

Daemon​

Daemon went up to the man and followed him. She found it strange that he would take her hand, but did not question it as she remained in a trance. She only spoke after he had asked her something. "I do not get tired." she stated simply, staring at the couch with a bored expression. "Nor do I sleep." After speaking she looked over her shoulder and towards the area they had just come from. She knew they were to speak about something they did not wish for her to hear, and yet she wished to know it. But instead of asking about the conversation in the other room she looked up to the man with her large blue eyes. "What is this place?"

 

Might as well see what the other are up to Allen thought finishing the toast. He contiued to walk until he saw Kiki's house. Might as well. He thought taking off his hidden blade just in case their were other there. He place it in his pocket as he contiued on walking.

 

Drake gently smiled as he looked over at Elizabeth "trust is hard to earn but rewarding once gained. I am glad you have this trust for others" Drake said as he placed his sword in the ground beside him and clenched his metal covered fists "I can only look forward to the day someone can replace me. But until then I have a responsibility to train the Berserker class" Drake said as he sent a powerful punch to a dummy, causing it to fly back pretty far. "its a duty I cannot take lightly" Drake said

Seeing that the boy was taking care of the creepy child, she turned and looked at the other to girls. "It's how I found her is why I brought her to you..." She closed the front door softly behind her and then looked at the two with a serious expression on her face. "When I found her... she was eating off of a carcuss of a ghoul. Then when she saw me, she decided to follow me here. I didn't know where else to take her."

Oh god of Jupiter... That is so... " Kiki tried not to vomit at the thought of that cute little girl she tried to cauddle ate something so disgusting and so... "Ew, that's so gross." Kiki walked back over to her seat by the table and sat down heavily. "So... she was eating ghoul flesh... Alice, what do you think we should do with this one? This is a first for me."

Elizabeth​

Elizabeth sighed and replaced her blade back in its strap. Suddenly, she didn't feel like training nor going to the surface at the moment. "That is very true and I am sure that, thanks to you, many powerful Berserkers will rise from this city."

Alice​

Alice had sat calmly and finished drinking her hot coco before getting up to place the mug in the sink. When she had finished that, that was when Jacklyn mentioned how she found the girl. So I was right... She is a half demon. From the moment that girl came into the house Alice could sense that she simply was not fully human. And since she knew what this meant... "We'll take care of her." She said to Kiki before turning to Jacklyn. "We're the first you've told, correct?"

Jacklyn nodded her head while shifting her weight on a different foot. "Correct. I couldn't find the others, and I knew that Kiki would be a bit slow getting out the door." She ignored the childish glare from the girl that was almost the same age as her, and then moved to the front door. "I see my job here is done then, I'll check in later then." Jacklyn reached behind her and opened the door, excusing herself. "Good bye." And with that, Kiki's front door was shut and the antisocial stepped back into her lonely world... the one that she was very familiar with.

Kiki sighed out when the scary girl left and then leaned back in her chair, balancing only two legs on the floor. "It's kind of weird to think that her and Kyle are related. Maybe she's some sort of evil clone." Kiki folded her arms over at her chest while considering deeply about that, and then looked up at Alice. "How are we suppose to take care of her?" Kiki set the chair back normally on the floor and then shook her head. "Like... hm, I don't know how to word this... What are we suppose to be looking for just in case something starts happening?"

Skye stared at Shino with a sense of curiousity at first when he suddenly laughed out of no where for what it seemed no apparent reason to her and broke the gaze to get the eggs. "What's so funny?" she asked with a smile while looking over her shoulder after grabbing the plates. She wasn't expecting him to answer though, so she just chuckled softly while shaking her head at him. 'Some times I wonder what goes on inside of his mind... I bet he does too...'

She then set one plate in front of Shino (the one with the most egg) and then sat down in the place that was right across from him. There were glasses and a bottle of milk already set out on the table in front of them, along with a plate of different kinds of toast and bagals. "This beats the instant stuff," Skye said with a grin, pulling the bottle of milk close to her and opened it. She first poured some for Shino, then poured some for herself. "This is probably the only breakfast feast we'll be getting though." She sat the bottle of milk carefully down and then suddenly got lost in her own thoughts.

She wasn't really good at hiding her emotions, and the nightmare was still playing on her mind. She was trying to forget about it, but it hovered there and it was still fresh in her mind. Realizing that she was staring off in the distance, she looked up at Shino and smiled nervously. "Sorry," she said with a nervous chuckle as she rubbed the back of her neck in embarrasment. "I kind of dazed off there." Not really knowing what else to say, she picked up her fork and cut off a piece of warm, steamy egg and took a bite of it. To Skye, this was a little taste of paradise. It was just like the days when she was a kid, when her father stood by her with his cane in hand while she stood on a chair to reach the stove and taught her how to cook breakfast. He was very patient with her, and got her to laugh when she burnt the eggs or put too much salt on them. Sweet memories like that... they always had a way of chasing away the bad things. 'That's what I need to be remembering,' she thought, chastising herself for letting the nightmare get to her again.

"Oooof course you don't." He said, his smile slowly fading away to a small frown. 'Was this some kind of prank? Did Kiki set this up, thinking it'd be funny to have me try and work with a child like this?' He thought exasperatedly, rubbing his temple. "Well, this is an underground city. You probably already know that, though, so...yeah. Take a seat and I'll explain." He promised, clearing his throat and suddenly wishing he had his gun for a moment. This girl was offsetting him, then he realized he was trained to deal with ghouls and all manner of enemies, so his gloves would be enough if she decided to...well, attempt to rip his throat out. He was not looking forward to that. He motioned and gave her a gentle nudge towards the sofa, clearing his throat and trying to figure out what he wanted to say. "Okay, well. I can kind of tell you aren't normal, but I guess if they decide to keep you here, it's not my decision. I like strange people, anyway. I'm strange myself, so...yes. Where you are is an underground city constructed after the ghoul plague came about. When people fled down here and found a natural cavern underneath the earth, they began with just a temporary settlement. Sleeping bags. It kind of expanded, as you can see, until what he have now. It's a refuge from the dangers that are up on the surface." He explained. "People like the girl that brought you in and me go up and search for survivors or materials or survival necessities sometimes. But you're down here now, I suppose it's safer than being up there." He said with a small smile, wondering what they were talking about.

 

ooc - I love how he doesn't know how to handle kids. We should leave him with Daemon through out the rp :'D

Alice​

Alice watched Jacklyn leave, silently wishing that it would not be the last she sees of her before turning to Kiki once more. "Evil clone...?" She asked, absent mindlessly, but did not wait for an answer before carrying on. "Something will happen. She will break down at some point, and probably soon." Alice started for the doorway that led into the living room but paused momentarily. "We just have to deal with it and try our best that no one else learns of this. Because if this gets out..." She didn't feel to need to finish that sentence and moved on.

Daemon​

Daemon sat down on the sofa and watched Hawkeye speak. Throughout the majority of his little speech she had a confused look on her face and watched him as if he was insane. "Safer?" She opened her mouth to say more but then saw Alice walk into the room.

Alice​

Alice walked past Hawkeye and knelled down before the girl. "My name is Alice. Has Mother spoken of me before?" She asked and watched the girl shake her head no. Alice then found herself sighing from relief before getting back to her feet. "It shouldn't be too hard to get her on our side considering how young she is. But it'd take a lot of time."

Shino​

"Oh, nothing." He mumbled, not really wishing to say what he had thought. It was kind of depressing after all, and there seemed to be enough sadness in the room for the time being.

Shino stared at the eggs, fighting back some drool as he reached for the milk. "Eggs... I cannot remember the last time..." He trailed off after hearing her next comment. What did she mean, last breakfast feast? "What do you mean by...the only one?" He asked, almost in utter shock before looking back down at his food. Then I must enjoy this the best I can! He picked up his fork and slowly reached down towards the eggs with it. After plucking a piece off he placed it in his mouth and thought for sure he'd cry from joy. He probably would of if it were not for Skye's last comments.

He felt so bad for not noticing and now looked towards her, fork still in his mouth. "I know it must be bad... And I won't ask further on it. But maybe we should just enjoy this moment?" He suggested with a hopeful expression of child-like innocence and naivety.

Well, that's a relief... I think." Kiki was standing back by the door, giving the girl some space so she wouldn't be so overwhelmed by how many people were paying attention to her all at once. Knowing her first time when she arrived, when she woke up anyways, she remembered how lost and confused she was when she first came here. That memory was fuzzy, but she remembered that it was scary; not knowing where her parents were, not remembering very much either. Maybe this girl in front of her sort of felt the same way. "I cross my heart that I won't tell a soul, and I'll do my best to help in anyway that I can," she said as she went back to the other conversation to confirm to Alice that she wasn't going to try anything at all to betray her or this girl.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the situation, Kiki leaned against the door as her eyes drifted over to Hawkeye. "Hey, do you have a clue what's going on?" she asked while raising an eyebrow at him. If he had even a little intuition of the situation, she knew that Alice an her would have to sworn him into secretacy to make sure this new information didn't leak out into the city. She knew she could trust Hawkeye though, he proved to her on several occasions that he was a friend worth having on their side.

Skye couldn't help but to smile a bit more after Shino said his simple request. If she wasn't going to say anything about it, there was no need to act mopey and depressing. "Sure," she said, her eyes lighting up for that moment. She took her glass of milk and washed down the egg with it. "And no, I wasn't really trying to say this could be our last meal. I meant that we probably will have to get it ourselves from here on out. Unless they're going to keep helping us... But I don't know if we can depend on them forever." Skye's hand hovered over the plate with toast and bagels, wondering which to take first. Everything looked so good to her, she didn't know where to start. She took one of the thicker pieces of bread and took a big bite out of it.

"Mm..." it was like the bread melted on her tongue mixed with the honey butter she spread on it. "But hey, don't worry about it. We did it once, we can do it again. The only difference is that there's fresh food we can look for instead of left overs..." Falling into her deep thoughts again, she turned her glass of milk on the table. Then she stopped, letting her fingers rest on the glass. "They even told us we could take up jobs if we wanted to. Wow.. I can't believe everything changed so fast..." She looked up at Shino, and then knew this was for the best. It was a miracle they lasted this long up on the surface even with the "luck" they had. Shino was so jumpy all the time too; maybe he could have a break being down here. Her and him anyways. "What job do you think you're going to take?" She didn't know all of the options, but she didn't care. She could dream, even though if the dream wasn't exsisting exactly. If she had a choice, she would probably choose to work with people or plants in some way. Shino and some others told her that she was easy to get along with many times, and she believed them despite herself.

"Well, to us." He murmured quietly. "You seemed to be doing just fine, but that's none of my business." He said, looking over her with his blue and brown eyes. She was a strange one, and he was mildly suspicious. Still, if she had come this far without killing anyone...She could be an ally. Right? The austere girl seemed to think so. As Alice came in, it felt as if the weight of the world was taken off of his shoulders. 'Oh, thank the Lord. Thank the Lord.' He thought frantically to himself, standing and offering a small wave, awkward and with a forced smile, before turning down the hallway and nearly smashing into Kiki. He swiftly swiveled around her, effectively putting her between the crazy child and himself. Did he know what was going on? "Well, I heard you guys talking." He murmured lowly, tapping a glove against his pants slowly. "From what I understood, she was...eating Ghoul flesh. And I wouldn't be surprised if that's kind of...changed her somewhat, maybe in the DNA or something. She may not be human. And before you tell me, I can guess that your womanly love-well, that or that crazy woman that popped in- made you decide on keeping her. You don't have to tell me not to go gossiping around town about this. I won't, you know me. I'll keep this a secret the best I can, and I'll try to swallow my innate dislike of children to deal with her. On a happier note..." He said, clearing his throat. "Are you going up to the surface any time soon? I could use some sniping practice in covering you." He said with a small smile.

Alice​

Alice looked over towards Hawkeye and Kiki as they spoke before looking back to Daemon, who was still sitting calmly. "I can't go to the surface for the time being," she said without looking towards Hawkeye, "but you two should go on ahead. That is, if Kiki wishes too. I'm just going to stay down here and give this one-"

Daemon​

"Daemon," she said simply, "is my name." Normally they weren't given names by Mother, but they were allowed to select their own. And this is what she desired and had chosen. It was simple, yes, and maybe a little silly, but she had grown to like it. It was her name.

Alice​

Alice smiled slightly, happy to hear she had given herself a name. Normally those who choose to go without one were harder to talk sense into. "Right. Well then, I'll give you, Daemon, a tour of the city. Will that be okay?" Daemon paused for a while before finally nodding once.

Shino​

"J-job? Oh, right... We have to work..." He hung his head while he thought over some of the possible choices he was told before. While slightly thinking it over he finished his eggs slowly and swallowed them down with some milk. "Haven't really thought about it... What about you?" He asked, looking back up towards Skye.

While he awaited an answer her finished off the last bit of his milk and smiled. Even if they had to work very hard for their next meal it'd be very worth it if each meal after this was just as good or better.

 

"its all I can hope for. If I cannot fight then the best I can do is be able to teach others on how to fight. If they are able to defend themselves and survive because of what I taught them...then I will be glad to have know that I have fulfilled my job" Drake said sending a a few light punches at the chest of a nearby dummy, trying his best to not break the thing. Once the dummy fell after a few punches Drake looked over at Elizabeth "something wrong?" Drake asked wondering why she decided to quit training so soon

Kiki hummed out while she was absorbing all that was happening around her. Alice said she would take care of the little one, and Hawkeye wanted to visit the surface. She needed to get back to work anyways to make sure they could find anymore survivors, scrap metal, and maybe some clue to this whole bizzare thing that was happening around them... No one had figure out why these ghouls were wondering around, or that's what she's been told anyways. She was determind to find out the cause, maybe bring peace to the surface again. That was her dream she had ever since she was a child, ever since the others had her. She saw the pain the others were going through; humanity was just barely hanging on. They couldn't live down here forever, she knew that. Everyone else probably knew that too.

Coming out of her deep thoughts, Kiki smiled at everyone around her and then cleared her throat. "Alright, I'll go get my gear together. Hey, while you're showing her around the city, why don't you stop by where the new kids are with Daemon. I'm sure they'll love to meet her, and her them. They're a bit older... but I think it'll be okay." She then smiled and waved at Daemon. "Nice to meet you by the way. My name is Kiki. I guess I'll see you around then?" With a shrug of her shoulders, she winked at Alice to wish her luck and then suddenly remembered something. "Oh! Kyle made these for us." She pulled out somethings from her pocket and then tossed a mechanical braclet to Alice and then one to Hawkeye. "They're communicators, or comlinks he calls them... Although we can speak to each other through mind, some of us can't do it. Just in case we get in trouble or lost." She clamped her own on her wrist, and then showed them the buttons. "Press the green button to talk, and press the red button to track if we get seperated." She pressed it, and then a little holographic map popped up above the bracelet, showing two flashing dots on her map. She pressed it again, and then it vanished from sight. "He out done himself this time."

Kiki chuckled and then stepped to the doorway. "Well, I'm going to get ready to go. Keep in touch, Alice. If you need anything, don't be hesisitant to call me up." She tapped her bracelet to prove her point and then pounded her test and then saluted to her friend. It was a friendly gesture of respect that Kiki made up, and with that she disappeared into her house to grab her gear from the coat closet by the door.

Skye sighed out and sat back in her chair after finishing her last bite of breakfast. What was she going to do exactly? There were so many choices that they presented to them, but she didn't know which ones really fit her exactly... Except one. "Well, being a medic seems to be something in my field, I guess anyways. Maybe I'll look into that... But I really don't know what I want to do yet."

Kiki scooted the chair back and stood up, taking Shino's empty plate as well as her own with the other dirty dishes that were finished being used and set them in the sink. She gingerly turned the water knob, letting the clean water gush out of the faucet. Kiki was a little startled at first by this unexpected thing, since they really didn't have running water on the surface... but then she thought it was facinating and stuck her hand underneath it. The water... didn't burn. It wasn't contaminated at all. She smiled to herself, then turned it off and just stood there at the sink, staring at her reflexion in the water as the water begain to settle. "It's so weird," she said quietly. "I don't have to worry about boiling the water... If a ghoul is outside of our house... I have to just worry about what kind of job and life I'm going to have... Yesterday, we were running for our lives... Today we're living a life we only dreamed about that whole time we lived up there..."

 

Alice​

Alice caught the braclet Kiki had thrown to her and examined it while Kiki explained it. Afterwards she placed it on her right wrist. "Alright, I'll make sure to stop by them." Alice couldn't remember the kids names, but then again it always took her some time to remember names. That is, unless they were really important names or she had something to remember them by. Like Daemon's name, for an example, would be easy to remember since it was so closely related to the word 'demon.'

"I'll make sure to do so. And you'd ought to do the same if you need my help." She said to Kiki before the girl left to get ready. She then reached for Daemon's hand and helped the little girl to her feet. "We'll be going now, bye Kiki. Stay safe." She called towards the room Kiki went to before exiting the house. After exiting she saw Allen walking towards Kiki's house. Girl sure is popular. She thought while waving towards the boy. Since she was going that way she figured if he wished to speak to her he'd say something as she walked by, if not though then she would simply keep walking.

Shino​

Shino smiled when he heard the word 'medic' and thought of all the times she has patched him and the others up. "Well, if you do choose to become a medic then I am sure you'll be the best one to ever exist." He stated excitedly.

And then when she got up and took his plates he was slightly surprised, but muttered his thanks. He then only heard some of what Skye said next. "Well, if I never have to see the surface again then I'll be the happiest person alive." He chuckled, getting to his feet and stretching.

Elizabeth​

Elizabeth yawned before looking over to Drake and answering him. "All is well. I just no longer wish to train on these dummies. Perhaps some Ghouls will make for better training..." She said, looking over towards the elevator. "Sorry to leave you so soon, but I have a feeling something is happening up there..." She muttered as she headed towards it, looking back towards Drake once on the elevator. "Maybe when a replacement is found we could fight on the surface?" She figured that, that would be the best way to go for people like them, to die while fighting.

 

Closing his eye Drake walked up to his sword stuck in the ground and pulled it out. "It would be an honor to fight along side you up on the surface" Drake said opening his eye with a gentle smile as he looked over at Elizabeth. Placing his sword on his back Drake turned away "take care now" Drake said as he walked away with his arm raised in farewell

 

Ɣ_ɧᶏᶭᶄᶓӌᶓ_Ɣ

This little girl was scaring the piss out of him. He just wanted to get up and leave right then. He may have been calm on the outside, sure, but his insides were churning with the need to take out his wire and end it. He could feel something off about her, and didn't like it at all. "Huh?" He asked, perking up a little bit as Kiki through something at him. He snatched it out of the air and snapped it onto his wright wrist, among the dangly little threads that hung there and other bracelets that adorned the wrist. He clicked the red button just for the heck of it, watching with wonder as the city unfolded into his hands, three perfect red dots describing where they were. "Wow, that's really cool." He admitted with a happy smile, turning and watching her exit. "I'll do the same. Be right back." He said, watching Kiki gather her stuff. He turned to Daemon, giving her a small wave with a few of his fingers and a corner-of-the-mouth smile. "It was...good to meet you, Daemon." He said, then turned and jogged back to his home. It wasn't long before he was completely suited up once again, boots and blades and hood and all of his materials over him. A ripped and leavy gray cape, meant to make him blend into wherever he was hiding, was tied in an inconspicuous knot and looped down the back of his shirt. He'd take it out once he left. Gun on his back and satchel loaded with ammo, he was ready to go as he approached Kiki's abode. The thrill before an excursion, a hunt was always what made him coming back for more.

Allen notice Alice waving at him so he waved back. He didn't have much to say so hekept on walking. Guess i'm not the only person who decided to go see Kiki He thought as he contiued to walk. When he got to her house he saw that just about everyone was there including someone new.

Angelique was up late as usual, being up late lifting weights; which soon became doodling after two lifts of her weights. She splashed water onto her face and and ignored brushing her teeth, busy enough with her hair. She put it in a pony-tail, no matter what it stayed low not high. Putting on her skinny rimmed glasses she quickly dressed, armored herself with he equipment and walked out what she called a home. Today she would go to the surface, something she didn't like so well. Painful memories, and awkwardness was assured for her. And of course the usual crap of fighting and running off to dodge from attacks. She walked on, looking down at her feet as she did; she did not want to go to the surface, anything would be better, even going to a stranger's house would do.

Charlie slept in his bed. Not wanting to wake. Whatever light his underground home gave was spilling into his one roomed home...Well it was actually just a living room, but it was pretty medium. He turned on his side, and pulled the covers up. He was lucky this morning Angelique had not barged into his home/room and pushed him off his couch bed. He yawned and dug his face in his pillow.
