I don't think there should be any sort of test. If someone fails it's kind of saying to some people that your just no good and you should leave. I do believe that the Rping should be a little more strict, but not over the top.

I think it's people typing in text speak that's making the most problems. For instance insted of saying "How are you?" they type "How r u?"That is annoying, you wouldn't write a book like that so why RP like it?
And people saying '??? walked around boredly'. It's bad grammer and guareented to get the player bored too. So why do it?

I personally think that this is a great idea and am behind CtR all the way. Strangely this was the first site I started to rp from and now I have developed it as a kind of hobby but now that I have gotten better at it just bothered me to see that some people were just do not care about it enough to type out a complete sentences, put a few creative ideas into a post or take time to come up with an good story. Not saying that you have to have perfect grammar or anything because I certainly don't, but just seeing some more effort and thought into the stories being made would be a welcome change for me. I do not think the crossover will be smooth though. I guess the best way to help this forum is to set a better example so I will begin making threads again and trying to encourage better quality in the posts.

It is still a sticky because it also contains the new rule and I want that stickied a little longer in the hope it sinks in with more people :3

OK, I just noticed this...so you'll have to forgive me.

Here's what I've noticed: The old RPers on this section have been here a long time...Most of them have done several of their own threads and know how the show goes around here. However, we've been getting a lot of new RPers coming in, and the old RPers are leaving...

The new RPers run in, and do whatever they want, leaving the whole RP section a rather chaotic mess. What we really need is not an increase in post length or a test to see if they're worthy of joining the RP. What we simply need is a tutorial on how to do it, and any new RPer must go through this tutorial.

This will show the members how to RP, not just telling them; this will decrease problems because most of the problem is lack of understanding.

I mean, how many problems do we have with godmodding in this section? We know that every person who creates a thread puts "No godmodding or powerplaying" in their rules...but what does it really mean?

Perhaps if we create a tutorial that will run the members through and show them how to RP, then we'll have a decrease in chaos and an increase in quantity of members and quality, which are both needed to keep this section alive and with its reputation in place.

@DarkKnight36; For that to work, they'd need to have a group of experienced Role-Players willing to spend their time working with the new ones. I don't think that would work out too well, but it is a good idea.

And I didn't put, "No godmodding or power playing" in my thread, I thought most people would have realized that godmodding is bad... xD

@CtR; Couldn't you just put it in the rules thread or anounce it over the RP arena? xD
