For Those of You Watching the Death Note Dub, Do You Feel That Nothing is Happening?

    There was one more thing I noticed.

    Throughout Death Note, there are MANY symbolic scenes that relate to, of all things, The Bible.
    But this episode TOOK THE CAKE. I never noticed it before, but the scene with L giving Light the foot massage is shockingly similar to the tale of Jesus and Mary Magdelin, don't you think? ;D
    At one point he even says "It's the least I can do to atone for my sins."    ​

    Ah, okay. I knew there was some significance to that scene. I never would've caught that though, I don't know that much about the Bible.

    There was also of course, that shot where you see Light's face warped by the staicase.

    Does anybody know the significance of Misa's song? That was probably another allusion.

    Lol, chime. I just saw this, and I've been wondering, is it worth it to jump in and begin watching the series? I've heard bits and pieces about it over time, and it's slowly begun to intrigue me more and more. Plus, clips of the dub I've watched seem pretty good. Would anyone recommend the dub?

    Plus, am I the only one who thinks L looks like a crack addict? Seriously, someone got him hooked on crack and took away his supply. The eyes o_O

    I would definitely recommend watching this show. It kind of sucks that you were spoiled before even starting the series, but still, it really is a brilliant show. If you want, I can give you a link to where you can watch the series in english.

    Yeah, um...L's a bit of an insomniac XD An ape-like, sugar-obsessed insomniac, but that's what we love about him.

    wow,I watched the first episode of it and it was boring.

    then a long time later I decided to give it another try because nothing was on.and I think it was episode 25.I laughed at how boring it was.

    Misa sang.
    Light and Ryuu dried each other off
    Ryuu died.
    Light is evil.

    WOW....that's so boring it made me laugh,its making me laugh right now.

    Well, what a shame that your tastes don't fit Death Note.
    I pity the fact that you're most likely too stupid even understand the series.

    Oh well.
    If you guys want my opinion on episode 25...
    I'm going to say exactly what my father said to me when he watched it.

    That has got to be the most intense, shocking, and greatest half-hour of anime I've ever watched.    ​

    So im automatically stupid for not taking an interest in a series you enjoy? wow,you sure are showing who's the stupid one here buddy. Im not hating Death Note,im just not interested in it.

    For one that wasnt my reaction,it was so boring to me that it was funny,I was laughing through half the show. I respect everyone elses view,respect my view that the show was uninteresting and boring.If you dont like my view,then dont say anything.

    most of the episode was silence,there were only 2 intense moments,but it didnt keep me interested for long.Light had that Shinigami by the balls,and then people started dying.

    I guess Death Note isnt my kind of anime..I like a bit of action and some comedy,sometimes drama..Haruhi Suzumiya was like that,loved nearly every episode.Girls Bravo is a good example,everything is funny xD

    anyway off topic now.back to DN.

    I suppose I can understand that. The unique thing about Death Note thougj is that you can't have the idea in your head that you're watching an anime, because it doesn't really have any anime qualities. It's kind of like watching a movie, sometimes things happen really slowly and it's very "3-dimensional," meaning it has hidden themes, symbolism, etc. However, slow doesn't always mean boring, in fact I though it was done really well. L was introduced in episode 2, and he was the co-protagonist. So maybe the reason you thought it was boring was because you never understood the character, and therefore, didn't care if he died. Then again, you could be right in saying it's just not your kind of anime.

    ^Yeah. Usually at funerals they ring a bell for each year that person has lived, so I'm pretty sure it symbolizes death.

    L pretty much knows whats gonna happen, so he doesn't even try to hide that fact from Light. In fact, it's probable that he WANTS him to know, so technically, Light know he's surrendered; not lost.    ​

    It seemed to me like he wanted to get a confession out of Light, even if he didn't plan on actually executing him, just so his mind would be at ease.

    Another thing, why didn't Rem kill Light? Was it because he knew that Misa wouldn't want it to happen? It still doesn't really make much sense.

    2. She didn't kill Light because she knew that L would then go on to execute Misa, and because he had died, even if she hadn't been put to death, she would lose her will to live without Light and take her own life. And Rem simply wants Misa to live her happily.    ​

    O_O But...a while back, people were complaining that Rem sounded too womanly, and I could've sworn you participated in that conversation without correcting them.....NOTHING MAKES SENSE ANYMORE!

    EDIT: I just looked back at the thread....I guess I must have hallucinated =_=; I feel stupid now, I don't know how I got this mixed up.

    I just watched the new episode of the dub (Renewal). Great episode in terms of cinematics but [mild spoilers]it was a lot of filler (reminiscing on what L had done to catch Kira). The end was great. One hell of a cliffhanger.
