until today, the video player wasn't that size (720p) for me. it was still the tiny little...I guess 480p player.
There are no 480p and 720p players. You can manually control the size by clicking the button to the right of the gear icon.
resolution =/= size of the container Doesn't look too different on my laptop screen b/c it's tiny but I'll have to take a look on my 2nd monitor. It's about damn time though. There's no reason to have a fixed layout anymore.
That might be it. I can get that size, too, but by default I get the smaller one. I guess 1366 x 768 isn't big enough for me to get the bigger one by default, though I can still switch to it. :)
it is a 720p player though... this is capture straight from my browser and it's 720p, give or take a few pixels since i can't be 100% accurate.
Honestly it's still a common size for laptop screens. Or at least, sub-$900 laptops. It's a pretty ****** resolution but IMO it's dumb to get a really suped up laptop anyway.
Most laptops are trash, but I do see the merit of some, especially for someone that would do lots of mobile productivity, and having a resolution like 1366 would certainly not be helpful for much. Just my take, though.
I bought one because I go to a commuter school and it's useful to have it, but I wasn't about to drop a shitload of money on it. I'd much rather have a junky laptop that will do basic web browsing and word processing then build a gaming rig with the money I have left.
Same with me. I also bought one knowing It couldn't handle games too well, as I knew I would install Guild Wars or Realm Reborn and play while I was in class.
