With some rents of Greece, we can pay our debt in only a few years!

 

They just went there on The Amazing Race this Sunday. :B

But that's pretty cool! It's certainly not a large country, iirc they said it was about a fifth of the size of New York City... but that's pretty good if you ask me.

$70k isn't much considering what you're getting, haha.

 

Wow... Sometimes I love european's ideas of tackling debt. Better than here where you basically cut public spending. We should rent out Buckingham Palace, sell a royal grade parade or sell an invite to Kate and Will's Wedding. We do those, I say we get 500,000 easily and quickly. That would at least help the debt a little without much effort. The Royal Family need to bloody earn their keep, it's not like they do anything that we already have got jobs for.

 

Yeah, Oprah could own Liechtenstein forever at that price.

And also... for the price of a college education, you too can pretend to be royalty.

 

hmm... too bad you can't "borrow" the treasury while renting the country.

 

Well that's one way for a country to make some money.

 

I never thought I'd see the day xD It would be kind of awkward though having loads of different rentees forever changing the names of the streets though xD

I like Peace-and-War's idea, instead tutition fees go up when really we could just do something more fun like renting out Buckingham palace for a night lol.

 

Or we rent our the more attractive royals to be a date for the night or something (think of prostitution without the paid sex part) Prince Harry would easilly make an income for us all ;)

I think renting a country sound utterly silly and humorous but hey, if its resolving their debts in some way, I'm all for that!

too bad theres no military. i could charge right over the austrian border, take it over and use it to pay the debt i put myself into to rent Liechtenstein in the first place. hehe, oh those poor austrians. theyll never see it coming. i suppose i could spare them and take over Switzerland, but they make good chocolate and that could ruin their chocolate industry. wait... they make good chocolate. THAT CHOCOLATE WILL BE MINE!!!!! TO WAR!!!! *off to do some evil plotting*

Hmmm... intriguing... to own your own country, though that would have to suck for the ones making the city maps, eternally having to rename the streets, not to mention having to keep that currency out of the actual system...

I wonder what the rules are? I'd 8e tempted to rent it out and declare war on Easter Island for the hell of it.
