cut my finger at work and now i have to walk home in the rain without a sweatshirt. It is so cold. :[

I'm soaking wet and freezing [probably going to be sick], the umbrella i just got and have used only once now broke [60 mph winds], couldn't see out of my glasses, i lost my shoe at one point, and was forced to walk through a monster puddle in the back parking lot of the mall.

 

You won't get sick from getting wet. Those are just silly myths.

 

The part that makes you sick is that you're cold, more extreme temperatures tax the immune system. And guess what? Water is better at transferring heat than air is so in inclement weather getting wet makes you colder and thus does actually make you sick.

 

Feel better Hyuge (or however you spell it.) Weather and cuts are bitches.

 

Well ****, I'm glad you told me. I've not had a shower in 19 years. I was scared that the wetness would get me sick.

But it only makes you more susceptible to illness. Cold water creating cold temperatures with contact on the skin doesn't make you ill, otherwise we'd all melt and die every time it came along.

I wasn't going to say this, because I assumed you could read English. I assumed you were able to understand things on a more than literal level. Apparently, you want to pretend you don't and act like it's helping your argument. Fine. If we assume that you're being literal as you were above the whole way through. You just equated getting sick to melting and dying. There is actually no way to get around that. I said I didn't imply that people melted and died, which I didn't. You, sarcastically, said I was wrong and that I did in fact imply that people melted in the water. Do you wish to redact?

 

I meant your second point. And I assumed you knew. These assumptions are dangerous to conversations, it seems.

 

Do you really want to do this? I made a fairly standard and inoffensive comment. You understood it, don't pretend you didn't. And yet you decided to attack it. I'm pretty sure I know where this is coming from and honestly, I expected better of you. If you want to keep going, I'm just going to say, "Fine, you win.
