I was wondering. How do you put those light or dark flashes in AMVs? I'm not sure how to do it, but I really want to try it. Using WLMM that is

Well, using Windows Movie Maker, I add either the "Fade in from White" or "Fade in from Black" effect. It's pretty simple.

but that's a fade. Would you have to speed it up or something? Because I haven't seen a fade-in that happens quickly

KH2man13 is right. To use to make flash, you use the Effect Fade In, From White or Fade In, From Black. To my knowledge, you can't make it faster but it should be decent enough unless you're editing something really fast.
