It would take me a lot of convincing to try FFXII again, first game of the series that I bought new on first day, first game of the series numerically I couldn't stand even halfway through.

I heard somewhere that Square will consider HDifying FFXII if FFX HD sells well enough. That's actually what pushed me over the edge on buying FFX HD.

And yes, the Zodiac Job System is beautiful for character customization.

I've never played it, but from what I've read I have to ask how. They just split up the board to lock you out of stuff that doesn't apply to your role. It seems more restricting if anything.

The main thing keeps it open is that you get to pick what job each (primary) character has at the beginning. You can't change this. Besides that, it's not just split up, you get a totally unique board for each job that's only slightly smaller than the full license board in the original game. This makes it so that any character can specialize in anything as long as you pick the right license board for them at the beginning. It's more restrictive in some ways, that restriction also allows for more specialization in more interesting ways.

Specialization I'll give you. But the only additional customization I see is having to pick a board, but then once you do you're locked into armor, weapons, spells, etc. If that is good or bad is a matter of preference (I think I would prefer a preset job over a choice myself). Just saying that those feeling to restricted in FFX and FFXIII, won't get that freedom from the Zodiac job system. The mid-stream freedom comes only from the license board we already know.

I really want to replay FFX, but the fact that we might get an HD remake is making me wait

We already have an HD remake of FFX, though. I'm playing it right now.

I did the same thing with FFX. I held off replaying it becuase of the HD Remake, and as it stands I'm more or less done FFX now, because quite frankly I on't feeling like grinding to fight a boss with 8 million HP

Did you mean FFXII in your earlier post then? You said you were waiting on the HD for FFX

I may be totally wrong and an utter n00b at this point, but I always had the impression that FFVII was one of the most, if not the most, popular in the series. I thought that would be high on the list for a remake.
