First Fall of Crimson Snow

'This guy isn't going to give up easily...' Kendra let the silence fall in between them, not sure how to explain it. She already told him that her mother and sister were murdered, and it must've been getting a bit old for him. Finally, she took in a deep breath and watched as a small cloud momentarily filled the night air. "I had a nightmare... about the night where my world turned upside down. The soldiers, the fear in their eyes, the gun shots..." Kendra pressed her lips together, not wanting to say any more. Her eyes were starting to sting, threatening to form tears. It was always so hard to talk about it. "So... I came out here to get some fresh air."

 

After a good nap, Seth slowly opened his eyes and sat up on the cot. "well that was a good nap" Seth mumbled as he looked around the place, his eyes still drowsy from the nap. In order to get the sleepiness out Seth began to stretch. "thats much better" Seth said as he looked around the place again I wonder where everybody went? Seth thought to himself

Drake began to walk down the hallways of the peace warrior's base. As he walked he reached into his pocket and pulled out a lollipop. He ripped off the wrapper and put the lollipop in his mouth "damn impulses" Drake muttered as he shoved his hands in his coat pocket and continued to walk

 

Alyssia wandered throughout the halls, her eyes staring at anything she found fascinating. "So different compared to the other place," she quietly murmured, as a faint smile crossed her lips. She turned a corner and ended up walking into the kitchen of the place. She stopped at the doorway and looked around, soon spotting Elsie at the counter. "Elsie," Alyssia called, walking towards her.

The sound of a gun loading was heard not too far away from Kendra and Scott. A young woman stepped out of the bushes and pointed her weapon at Scott, while she pointed her sword at Kendra. "Don't move!" she demanded. "Or else I'll shoot." The woman known as Fay eyed the two of them, taking a step closer, but remained caution. "Who are you two?"

Kendra's eyes immediately locked onto Fay's, watching her every movement. She gradually lowered the blanket from her shoulders to unblock the slits in the shirt where here wings popped out. The bird girl was on the defense now. She didn't know if the woman before her was a Peaceful Warrior, or one of the bad guys. But if she was an enemy, Kendra was sure that her and Scott could take the woman. "Mutants... who are you?"

"Huh?" Elsie perked up as she turned around to the voice. When she saw who it was, she smiled brightly. "Howdy! Couldn't sleep?" Elsie figured that she could talk for a bit. She had to wait for her ramen after all to get soggy enough to eat.

BIC: Alyssia slowly nodded her head in response and slightly frowned. "Yeah. As much as this place is more comfortable than the camps, I just can't sleep." She slightly shrugged her shoulders and looked around the kitchen before looking back at Elsie. "What about you?"

Fay slightly lowered her gun, narrowing her eyes as she looked back and forth at the two of them. "Your mutants?" She didn't know whether to believe them, but the way they were dressed seemed like they could of have been, along with the fact Kendra had a blanket and neither of them seemed armed. "If you're mutants, then who brought you here? Did you stumble upon this area on your own or did someone bring you?"

 

Kendra ignored Scott and stayed put where she was at. She wasn't going to back down just yet. She wanted to know who this person was. "Elsie brought us here. Now who are you?" It wasn't fair that the woman asked them who they were, and then didn't tell them who she was. 'Peh, she must think I'm lying...'

Elsie hummed out lowly smiling broadly. "Dinner was calling me, so I came here to get a midnight snack. Want something to eat?" Elsie had skipped out on dinner that day, not feeling too hungry. That always happened when she was excited about something, or just didn't feel like eating until something got done..

 

Alyssia chuckled and nodded her head. "Seems a little to be eating, but sure." She rubbed the back of her neck, soon noticing she didn't have the blanket on her back. She looked over her shoulder and blinked, figuring it must have fallen off when she was trying to fall asleep. She lightly shook her head and crossed her arms. "Don't mean to suddenly ask, but why'd you join the Peaceful Warriors?"

Fay sighed as a grin crossed her lips, lowering both of her weapons when she heard Kendra and saw Scott's sudden power. "Well, I didn't think Elsie would bring mutants here tonight." She sheathed her sword, but kept her gun in hand in case of anything. She eyed the two of them, noticing they both had wounds. I'm guessing they must have gotten in a fight. Fay crossed her arms, letting her hand that held her gun hang loosely. "Did she bring only you two?"

 

Kendra relaxed slightly, seeing that the older woman was dropping her guard a little. 'She still didn't answer my question...' That bothered Kendra, but she figured that the woman was leaving it up to her and Scott to figure out who she was. "No... there's two more of our kind..."

"Well, I got separated from my parents a while ago, and then they found me." Elsie was pulling out various snack foods out of the cupboard for Alyssia to pick out for herself to eat: cookies, crackers, chips, and other things. She didn't know what she liked, so she gave the girl a variety to choose from. "After that, they became my second family." Elsie then turned her attention back on the cup of ramen and snatched it off the counter. It was about time to take off the lid, so she did so. She inhaled the scent of the ramen, her stomach instantly growling at her for torturing it.

 

"Wow," she muttered to Elsie's story. "You don't know where your parents are?" Seeing the food Elsie spread out in front of her, Alyssia felt her stomach growl. She hadn't eaten for a while and all the running she had done made her forget she was hungry. But now that she's able to relax, she finally realized she was hungry. She reached out for the cookies and chips, bringing them closer towards her and began eating. So good. She thought, finishing eating one cookie.

Fay slightly tilted her head, noticing Scott's sudden irritation. "What's wrong with you, kid?" She chuckled, rolling her eyes as she took a step back. "My name's Fay. I'm a Peaceful Warrior so relax yourselves. I'm not an enemy." She brought one hand over her mouth and looked over her shoulder to look out into the forest. She narrowed her eyes and looked back at Kendra and Scott. "Mind telling me your names?"

 

Kendra felt totally at ease now. She trusted people easily when they finally introduce themselves and say their name and such. Plus, she felt like she could relax around Fay. "Kendra," she stated simply. There was no need for fancy introductions, not at a time like this. "Nice to meet you, Fay."

"Nah... I've given up looking for them, besides, they're probably safe in the city..." Elsie giggled while watching Alyssia eat her cookie. She figured that she probably hadn't had anything like that in a while, and let her eat in peace. "I would offer fruits and veggies, but they're still not ripe yet. We have canned pears and peaches if you want some." Elsie set down her cup and headed to another cupboard, opening it. There were a bunch of jars lined along side each other on the shelf, each of them with a date on it. They were pretty fresh. "Which one do you want? Or do ya want both?"

 

"Hopefully they are," Alyssia muttered, stuffing another cookie in her mouth. She looked up at Elsie and blushed a little when she giggled. She wasn't used to eating in front of people, but the fact she hadn't eaten for a while made her forget about that uncomfortable feeling. Alyssia watched the young girl walk over to the cabinet. Her eyes slightly lit up when she saw so many jars. "The...peaches are fine." Alyssia lowered her head once more, now grabbing the bag of chips. A smile crossed her lips, completely happy at the fact she was finally eating good food.

Fay nodded at Kendra and looked back at Scott. She eyed him for a couple of seconds, feeling a little uneasy about him. Seeing how distant he was being compared to Kendra made Fay suspicious. She briefly closed her eyes and sighed, putting her gun away. "I suggest the both of you go back to where ever Elsie first took you. There's a reason she brought you guys here so I'm positive staying inside would be better than wondering around and getting yourselves caught again."

 

A slight feeling of annoyance swelled up inside Kendra, but she fought it down. It was probably a good idea to stay inside and rest... It wasn't like she was doing anything bad in the first place, she was just standing outside trying to get some air. But she knew explaining herself was probably not the best idea in the world. "Right, sorry..." Kendra pulled her blanket around her tightly again, and without waiting for Scott, turned around and went inside.

Elsie grinned as she plucked the peaches from the shelf. She then fetched a spoon from the draw and handed both the items to Alyssia. "Help yourself! But don't eat too much, or you might get sick. And we wouldn't want that." Elsie then went back to the drawer where she got the spoon out of and fished around in it until she pulled out two wooden chopsticks. She then went to her noodles, which were rapidly cooling, and started to devour them.

 

Alyssia smiled, taking the spoon and peaches. She stared down at them for a moment before she continued eating. Everything was just so delicious to her all of a sudden. It made her fairly happy. For a moment, she stopped and thought. Her eyes narrowed and placed the spoon inside can. "To be honest," she began. "I didn't think there were people like you out there."

Fay headed towards her own direction, watching both Kendra and Scott go their separate ways. She tilted her head up a little, staring up at the sky. Hopefully it stays peaceful for tonight. She crossed her arms and sighed, seeing her breath in front of her. Didn't think it was that cold out here. She walked into one of the building and wandered through the hallways.

 

"Wue ke ousefs well huidden," Elsie said with her mouth full of ramen. She chewed on the noddles faster so she could swallow them, and gulped them down. "We only help when the need is well... needful. We don't like to brag about what we do." Elsie then shoved more noodles into her mouth, eating to her heart's content.
