Finding Webcam

    Well, my friend cleaned up my laptop a while ago and today I was trying to open up my webcam for a photo but I wasn't able to locate it anywhere. I'm not sure when he did with it.
    Unfortunately, I am no longer in good terms with this friend so I can't ask what happened.

    Does anyone know where I could find it? Any help at all?

    Do you mean finding the webcam application? Or is the webcam application you usually use not able to connect with/locate the webcam?

    Well, um, I'm not one that know of technology but it's a built in webcam. I searched for in through the devices and couldn't find it. It works when I use it for skype and elsewhere and the pictures I have from it are saved but I am unable to locate it anywhere.

    What Laptop are you using? I'll try my best to help. :v

    Your friend might have uninstalled it? I say go check programs and such. Go to Control Panel then go to Programs and check for your webcam.     ​

    No. I found nothing under my programs. I didn't even find it in the gadgets.

    Right, I'm unsure of what to say. I'm not the best at Technological stuff, anyway. I think your friend might have uninstalled it? I don't know. If not, then he might've of hidden it. Try looking here? ​

    To my knowledge, every Windows PC has a Webcam Central. Once you find that, you can set up your webcam to take pictures.

    First search for MediaSmart on your start menu.

    If that doesn't work, try this

    HP MediaSmart Webcam Software

    If that doesn't work, tell us what is the exact HP model is, easier to have an exact name.

    I did actually. It just left me a blank, unclosable table.

    But then I tried a search again and found it and that's when the program started. So now I have my webcam back. Thank you.
