I find that not true. It is 7 years before FF7, so why would it be pointless?
I admit, I never played it, but I know enough about it, duo reading and looking at vids on youtube, almost following the entire story. The story just seemed cool and it looked very nice graphic wise, so I just had to have it. Imo, it is not pointless at all, it is just a cool looking game waiting to be played by me.

 

You're never going to get to play this game. The only reasonable solution is to kill yourself.

Being impossibly clumsy as I am, I've dropped my precious PSP about 5 times by now. The PSP is fine, but I ruined a game and some data was corrupted.

i guess you COULD play it without prior knowledge of the series, but the sense of epic nostalgia amplified by new smexy graphics and getting a more complete knowledge of something you wish you knew more about for 10 years or so would be completely non-existant. and that's basically what CC was for. apart from that, the CC battle system was rubbish, as was the materia system, and uh.... that pretty much the entire game in a nutshell

 

Argh it doesn't matter anyway. If I didn't buy it, I would just throw around with the money anyway. That's what I do. I throw with money. Yes, I am sick.

 

My advice:
Pirate FF7 somehow and play that first. (not trying to force illegalness here, but its really the only way to obtain it nowadays.)

 

Is FF7 for PS1? If so, you can play it on a PS2 right?

Nice, but heads up, people on ebay will sell the pamphlet for the game at around that price. If you have a ps3, you can get it on psn for 15 bucks.

 

'twas also released on PC, which is a relatively quick download. some guys possibly or possibly not inluding me also choose to mod the PC version, and actually you can get some pretty good graphics in that old game now.
