BBs already has Data Install. Why would the need a patch?

It's too soon to say, but I don't think there will be a FM for BBS.

I think the script etc will be the same and the game overall will be the exactly the same, just in English.
As for a final mix I don't think they will make one for BBS as there was a larger marketing opportunity on the PS2 but not as much on the PSP unfortunately.
I think they will cram all the extras into KH3 which is meant to start after square is done with FFXIII versus :)

I think everyone's getting the wrong idea about the Final Mixes.

Square Enix has been doing this as early as Final Fantasy X. Here's the formula: They release a game in Japan, get feedback, release a slightly fixed English version, get more feedback, then fix it again and re-release it in Japan, usually with added bonuses like extra weapons or secret bosses. They toughen up the existing content and make some obligatory additions; everything else is extra and specific to the game being redone.

In this light, it's entirely possible that BbS will have a Final Mix, but given that it's a hand-held I'd bet against it. Then again, if Nomura says it's as important as a numbered game, you never know. Either way, because of the way it's done, we probably won't hear anything about it until the English version is complete and released.

Personally, I don't think that there will be a Final Mix for BBS. According to an interview I read, Nomura is already scaling up the difficulty level on the bossfights, and some other things are being given tweaks as well.

That said, it would be so incredibly awesome if there was to be a FM version. In all honesty, I think a little more exposition would have been nice to have with the apprentices (Braig, Dilan, etc.) and perhaps even a cutscene or two describing them losing their hearts/becoming nobodies, etc. Actually, that could probably warrant a game of its own. Hummm...

This is one of the main reasons people believe that there will be a Final Mix. The game is first released in Japan, and when it comes time for the more worldwide release, they stamp out any bugs, and add new features. The Japanese, however, miss out on these features, so in return a Final Mix is released to Japan, in which they get the additional features that non-Japanese players got, and then some.

it would be amazing if they did that, but it probably would come out after KH3 because what happened with ReCOM is that KH1 was released, KHCOM was released KH2 was released and then ReCom was released... however this may be a good thing as if there are KH3 things which need explaining they can add them. Also I think it would be best if they do make one because it allows us to see more of the X year gap between BBS and KH1 because I still wanna know what happened to Marluxia and Larxene's somebodies, along with some other stuff stuff that happened in the gap. Also Mickey campaign is a MUST.

Didn't he say that Re:COM came after KH2? Also RE:COM isn't like a Final Mix, it was complete remake, while a Final Mix is the original with extras.

English version is going to have exclusive content. In order for this content to be available to the Japanese audience, they'd need to re-release the game in Japan. This might be done just by DLC, because PSP supports that like PS3 and XO too. Though it is possible that they do a FM for the Japanese and add something to it. Or it might be just a Japanese language version of the English version.

But it is important to notice that PSP has something that the previous KH-consoles(ps2,gba,nds)have not had: Downloadable Content(DLC)
