Square-Enix Final Fantasy XV [the game formerly known as Versus XIII]

I'm so excited for this game, and its soo cool, that the people from Advent Children are in on this project too. Any word on voice cast yet?

 

It's probably one of the first games where the music is just as anticipating as the game itself. I'm glad Yoko Shimomura is working on this one, considering her work in the KH series. Maybe Nobuo can drop in for a composition?

I'm still a little vague on the gameplay, albeit having seen a mere little screenshot revealed from the Cloud Message/Riplai magazine from this past month. But happy to hear that it will be something like Kingdom Hearts 2 (perhaps then replacing the seizure-esque attacks with more gory effects). I'm also hearing that they are adding in elements from DoC which I suppose is new to add on.

Nomura's directing style is incredibly distinct for a guy who's only directed KH and a movie. It's like he's been writing crap in notebooks that he hid under his bed for years until Square finally agreed to let him tackle a project of his own.

I'm still waiting to see what Nomura means by Noctis not being a 'silent, gloomy individual' when everything about Vs XIII so far still screams 'emo a l'orchestral'.

 

Well just from reading Noise's post i learned a little more about this game.

To me this seems like it'll be something in between the dark style of storyline that somethig like Shadow Hearts (I know its not an SE game but its the best example of what I mean) would offer and the gameplay of Crisis Core and KH combined and enhanced to a extent.

I think I know what Nomura means by Noctis being the obosite of what he looks like, I think it might be a Romeo and Juliet situation with Noctis and that girl with the red version of that blue thing Noctis had but instead of them being lovers seperated by a family argument their enemies or even in a sense of rivalry who are slowly being pulled together.

But i'm just thinking of ever possible angle the story could come from.

And as you can tell i'm not up to date on my FF and KH coming soon knowledge.

 

I heard he's very shy and has a lot of idiosyncracies (sp?). I'm also curious to see what Noct's character is like.

 

this game may foruse me to buy a PS3 (before KH3...if that comes to the PS3)

it looks amazing! and when i saw the recent trailer i about died! it was stunning!

i am glad its very KH-ey i like that it is like a more mature KH

Pretty much the only compelling thing I see so far in terms of characterization.

I'm not sure if I wanna watch or wait until FFXIII demo. I wanna watch because it's FFXIII but I don't wanna expend out my excitement for it either. But I'll probably watch it sometime in the future when the tide's calmed down.

Even though there was no gameplay in that trailer and it was just the Jump Festa trailer (I believe), I still think Versus XIII will be better than XIII. BTW I believe there are already translations of that scene on the web.

A FF lead male character that actually looks Asian and isn't feminine? What has the world come to!

 

That was some pretty nice footage. I've heard about it being shown but didn't imagine it would be something like this. Even though there were no voices, the characters all had this sort of realism to them, as if it were acted out live action. It's probably just me but wow.

Anyway, I just hope that they get some gameplay footage out there sometime.

 

If you watch the trailer on gametrailers, some of the parts look like they could be viewed in 3D.

 

I notice that too. I think that would look cool having characters jumping out at you.
