Some more info on the game from Square, taken from Gematsu.

    ■ Equipment

In the “Equipment” menu, you can set the four weapons you use in battle, as well as three accessories which will grant you various effects.

    ■ Equipment for Your Party

In the “Equipment” menu, you can also change the equipment of Noctis’ party members. Depending on your party members’ weapons and commands, their battle strategy will change in a big way.

Each character has completely different “commands” that they can use, which possess a wide variety effects such as attack types and support types. The key to victory is utilizing them skillfully based on the enemy and situation.

    —Main Weapon and Sub Weapon

You can set one main weapon and one sub weapon for your party members. The category of weapons that can be set are fixed to both main and sub.

    —Commands

You can set commands for your party members that you, the player, can trigger during battle.

    ■ Links Change based on Noctis’ Equipment

The link attacks (cooperative techniques) you can trigger during battle will change based on the type of weapon equipped to Noctis.

When Noctis has a Great Sword equipped, a link with Prompto can be triggered. Prompto will pass Noctis his gun, and Noctis will pass Prompto his sword before the two attack with each other’s weapons to deal great damage.

    ■ Links Change based on Your Party’s Equipment

Link attacks will also change based on the types of weapons your party has equipped.

When Gladio’s sub weapon is a Shield, you can trigger a link attack that you normally couldn’t if he only had his Great Sword equipped. Gladio uses Noctis’ back as a stepladder, jumps high up, and strikes the enemy with the heavy shield.

    ■ Three Types of Lodgings

“Lodgings” are indispensable to Noctis and company’s journey and development. These places to stay can be classified into three categories: “Camps,” “Trailer Houses,” and “Inns.”

    Camp

Camping is only possible at safety points known as “marks” where enemies can’t approach. At camp, you can sleep and eat. It’s beneficial in that it lets you sleep for free and you can apply buffs to your party by eating Ignis’ cooking. The downside is that ingredients are required for Ignis to cook.

    Trailer House

Trailer Houses are a lodgings scattered throughout the world. It’s beneficial in that it offers relatively cheap lodging and that, while each Trailer House differs, they come with various bonuses. The downside is that you can’t eat any of Ignis’ cooking, meaning no buffs.

    Inns

From plebeian motels to ultra high class resorts, there are a variety of Inns scattered throughout the world. They’re beneficial in that you’ll get largely useful bonuses in addition to lodging. The downside is that it’s relatively high in price and you can’t eat any of Ignis’ cooking, meaning no buffs.

    ■ Ignis’ Cooking

You can only enjoy Ignis’ cooking when you camp, and its looks and tastes can be compared to those of a first-class chef. By eating Ignis’ cooking at camp, you’ll gain buffs (certain stats will be increased for the next day). You can obtain cooking ingredients like meat and vegetables through battle and exploration. When you obtain an ingredient you haven’t obtained before, it’s also possible for Ignis to learn a new recipe. Chocobos can also be given meals at camp, which can increase their level.

    ■ Hotel and Diner Meals

At hotels and diners, you’ll be able to eat special meals that you won’t be able to eat elsewhere. Since these include recipes not part of Ignis’ lineup, be sure to check them out.

    ■ Chocobos

Chocobos are giant yellow birds that live and are bred in the game world. By riding on their backs, you can travel around the world at a faster pace. After you’ve met certain requirements, you’ll be able to rent a chocobo to ride. To rent a chocobo, you’ll need to pay a fee at the “Chocobo Ticket Machine” in accordance with the number of days you want to keep the chocobo, and you’ll receive the “Chocobo Flute” item.

Yeah. Posted that in the last page but...the details from the Japanese Playstation Store were really vague. Glad that this clears up some stuff. There wasn't a mention of a "Holiday Pack" and now that something like that has been confirmed...well here's hoping we get to see some snow in the game's cities!

Anyway, here's another neat little trailer about the "World of Wonder" in FFXV. FEATURING MORE FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE.

Jeez, it's hard to believe for me that FFXV will finally be released next month. Granted, I've only been truly interested in this game when E3 2013 occurred but I have been heavily anticipating the game's release since then.

Also a side note, Somnus is one of the most beautiful tracks that I've heard not just from Yoko Shimomura, but also from everything else that I heard.

Better not get too excited just yet... FFXV might be delayed until November 29th according to a (somewhat) credible rumor.

    Source

Square has yet to comment on it but hopefully it's not true.

Better not be, I was all ready for my new game and movie to get here in a little over a month. Though I admit I probably don't need the distraction right after school starts, but I want my stuff.

With the ridiculous amount of unfinished games being published just to satisfy release dates, I disagree with you here. If the game isn't finished or to the level of quality they want it to be, they have no reason to release it yet.

We don't even know if it's finished or not, since most of the info we've gotten out of it so far has been pretty pictures of the world it takes place in. We'll just have to find out soon enough.

There is always more optimization to be done in terms of frame rate. I don't doubt their ability to make a pretty looking game, but making one on less powerful hardware that also runs at a steady framerate has historically been a challenge. If I recall in the demos people complained about the framerate, and if they don't have that fixed, they are better off delaying it.

I personally don't care much for frame rate. People are never going to be happy with it, because they're always going to want something higher. Now maybe I'm misreading you're post, but it sounds like you said they're complaining about it because it's just not high enough. If it's something about being steady, that's another thing, but if it's something that changes between something like 58-60, I wouldn't consider that a big deal, because no one's going to notice it.

But like I said, we'll find out soon enough if they decide to extend the date. At the very least, personally, if they're going to extend the duration of the game, at least give us the extra stuff that we ordered like Kingsglaive at the time they first announced so we get something. Otherwise it's going to be annoying having to wait those 6 months only to be told to wait another 3 months.

You are more than welcome to enjoy playing choppy games. I won't stop ya, there are plenty of them out there. However. if you think a game company is going to publish a "finished" product, that doesn't run at a MINIMUM of 30FPS with little to no drops, and not get insane amounts of backlash, you're wrong.

That being said saying stuff like "people are never going to be happy with it because they always want something higher" is also a load of bull. People want stable 60FPS games, and when that isn't possible stable 30FPS games. Dipping into the mid to low 20's is unacceptable. You seem to not understand that it is less about the "highest number" possible, and more about being stable. Dips into the 20's its unbelievably noticeable, especially when starting at 30. It's always been about steady, if someone expects more than 60FPS while keeping higher end graphics (higher end for a console, not higher end in general) it isn't going to happen. If they can prevent dips, which ruins the immersion of the game completely, I will gladly wait even another year if I must.

It's gotten to the point where these game devs/teams take on these huge (which is a good thing imo) projects, but maintain a release date that causes them to rush. Rushing isn't going to make a quality product. I get that people have been waiting for Versus XIII turned FFXV for a very long time now, but the fact of the matter is we are playing on a newer field here, and treating it like a game in development for MANY years just doesn't work, especially when the issues aren't story or gameplay mechanic related. Not saying that those factors are any easier, but when you want a grand scale game like this, you either need to have the game incredibly well optimized, or be prepared to cut corners because factually the PS4 doesn't have enough power for laziness or mistakes go be involved. Not saying SE is being lazy here, more of the opposite, so if they end up "making us wait" and we get a more complete game, count me in.

I don't really care at this point, it's just a couple of months. But if it does end up being true, then I really feel for all those who paid a buttload for flight, travel and accommodation in order to attend the Uncovered event. We should hear something soon, though.

Well not to be disrespectful of those who have, but considering it was streamed, unless they happened to work in the field and do some form of reporting or journalism (in which case its most likely either paid, or just part of the job) then going to such an event is first and foremost a "luxury". There are many instances in which information ends up getting to those at home faster anyways, so I don't see how those who attended are in a loss in any way, considering going to such events is a trade off in the first place.
