Meh, I'm skippin' this one. I'm not a fan of the boring fighting style. It was only fun with Pokemon.

The battle system is meant to be one of the highlights.

And i'm getting it on Saturday, possibly on Friday (depends when the shop has it in).

I might as well pick it up the day it comes out since I already preordered it, looks like a great game. If that faceplate is still $50 I probably won't get that though. =/

You can only get the faceplate in the UK if you preorder the bundle pack, and you still have to pay for it. xD

I think here you can still buy it without the bundle but it's just a ridiculous price. >.<

I've heard it kinda is but you don't have control over the character's movements. You only take control of one character while the computer takes control of the others, but you have the choice for the paradigm for each charatcter.

This is what I thought at first, but I could've sworn it was supposed to play more like X-2.

The battle system is probably one of the only things I liked about that game. Vice-versa for XII; if it's like that, count me out.

To be honest, what really killed it for me was that I just didn't find it engaging at all. It didn't suck me in, it just threw shit at me. "Look, The FFX girls in skimpy clothing! And dance music! And swords and guns and crap!"

After reading the spoilers, I feel like I would've enjoyed it if I could have stuck with it, but it felt so much like a Swedish fanservice machine in the beginning. It just wasn't Final Fantasy to me. And trust me, I'm the last person to cling too tightly to tradition. In fact, X is one of my favorites. X-2 just had a bad vibe.

I agree, it didn't have the same feel (almost excitment) than the usual FF game would have. Perhaps because it was the first sequel and not an entirely new game. I will not lie. The story was fairly weak, but could've been worse. It was insanly cheesy (some of the dialouge was horride), but gosh! I love my cheese. I really am a sucker for cheesy plots, especially involving romance. T__T The idea of Tidus and Yuna together again brought a tear to my eye. (I cried at the end of FFX xD)

The outfits were indeed skimpy. No questioning that. When i first saw Leblanc i screamed...on the inside. xD

I love me some cheese, too. Especially the romance. That being why VIII is my absolute favorite; it's been expressly stated that the theme of the entire game was love.

I didn't think the story was that bad. Nor the dialogue. Maybe my memory's just fuzzy. But honestly, if they had to sequel any game, X was an interesting choice; I loved seeing the various reactions of Spira's people to
the fallout from their god's death.

I rather enjoyed X-2. The battle system was a new take on the entire turn based style than the previous titles and I absolutely adored the music. It had a unique touch on the class system with the Dress Spheres and the Garment Grids that took some getting used to, but was quite ingenious.

That being said, the story did suck schlong. And I love a good story in my Final Fantasy games. But I'm still drawn to X-2.

    Here's hoping FXIII's story doesn't disappoint.
